TheLadyOfTheRings.9148
Hi everyone,I'm trying to download the new patch but it's super slow (3MB/sec) and still at 0% ("files remaining: 1492") after 30 mins of waiting. Do you know what I can do to increase download speed? Thank you!

Do you know what I can do to increase download speed? Thank you!First of all don't store Guild Wars 2 folder in the main directory for program files where all apps will be put after their main files have been installed. The reason is that Microsoft have put that folder and its subfolder in read only mode which make it hard to make small changes from other apps (that is to prevent virus from accessing and changing leggit files). In most usage the installation app (it is an small independent app that is installed with main app that will handle installation, updates and changes incl remove files) is supposed to handle this. Move your complete GW2 folder to its own main directory (doesn't matter if it is on same SSD or another place as long it isn't in the sub folder of where MS OS have its main files for apps - Program Files or Program Files (x86).https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Program_FilesAlso check that your antivirus isn't blocking connection from your patching those files for GW2.In the end it can be that your internet provider have some trouble or they randomly block connection (that can happen depending on DNS or IP black lists and isn't necessary your IP fault). Also when we talk about patching there is actually two speed measurement. One is for downloading which is the speed that files can copied from internet on your local disk (which again have to have enough space to not slow down that process) that process is measured in megabits pr second (mbit/s) and the other process that is related to your hard disk/SSD is measure in megabyte or MB pr second. One byte is 8 bits.
