Trait line

Recommended Posts

Hello! Don’t really post here & not sure if this has been brought up before but was wondering , why don’t we get a 4th trait line ? I think it would be a good thing especially for a lot of classes . To not make it OP I would suggest maybe only allow us to use our core profession for the extra trait line & continue allowing us to only use one elite spec at a time.

That’s just my opinion though. So wanted to see who else was in favor? If not please state why :)

No, in the past we had a different trait method and it's been years since we changed to the new method. All the balance and work done till now would be lost. In addition to that the point of 3 trait lines force you to make decisions, and that is the nice part of theory crafting.I would be ok to add something special if you only run core traits, like an "elite" core traitline but also this idea is silly and I think devs should just focus to balance some core classes like ele for example which lacks something compared to his espec

I'd rather have any racial perk done through the mastery system. It could be interesting and refreshing, having these perks only open for open world PvE and cities. This would give 12 traits to unlock via experience/mastery points. But it would work like a standard traitline. The traits would only affect racial skills (nothing more nothing less) in order to revive these skills without impacting players that don't use them.

The issue being the revenant not having access to racial skills.

I think 4th trait line should be a weapon trait line. It can expand or change weapons skills if you take it. And current weapons traits should be removed from others traits lines. So if i like greatsword i can take a greatsword trait line and get more interesting/powerful skills.

What you're suggesting is an entire restructure of how specializations work which we don't need. ALthough I do feel the specialization system is lacking, its more lacking in the limit of the number of each traits that we can choose from as opposed to limited by trait lines.

This yes. Via mastery system this could be the optimal solution. And give race and core tyria mastery points some meaning back.

As most PvE content is easy enough I don't see the need for it.

In PvP a 4th line would be especially bad for game balance. A lot of abilities are too powerful as is.

Making choices is what makes creating builds fun. Because of BIS elite specialisations GW already lacks in that department. A 4th trair line would likely make it worse.

not really good idea... unless they add alot more traitlines.. because right now you need to make choice.. and even with current situation.. i feel like you dont really have much choices because most of the trait lines you would use anyway.. .. 4 trait lines is simply taking all the good traits.. but it could be interesting for example.. if any mix of any 2 / 3 diffrent traitlines would have extra effects for that specific mix
