Zaxares.5419
Are these special missions bugged? I'm assuming that you're meant to destroy structures like tents, barricades etc. during the assault on Dominion-controlled bases, but destroying those items does not progress these achieves. Are the special missions referring to something else? If so, what?
Arduin.3029
They work properly for me. And you are right, you need to destroy tents etc. during an assault. Are you sure they are completely destroyed? They are able to take quite some damage. I use the EMP to destroy them fast.
aspirine.6852
Works fine for me. I also use either siege or the EMP for it.
Memoranda.9386
Auto-attacking and profession skills don't seem to work, so you are forced in to using siege, or has been suggested, EMPs.
pninak.1069
you get so many war supplies once you finished all the bolster x special missions. so after that pillage missions become extremly easy, because you get siege on the fly without investing supplies. so you replenish emp pretty much all the time. depending on meta progression on map you might need to change or wait to get another chance. I still need to pillage fort and overlook for example.
Zaxares.5419
Ahh... So what I think is happening is that these structures are similar to WvW structures like walls and gates; while you can destroy them (eventually) with profession skills, you're likely doing insufficient damage to them to qualify for credit. Thanks for the tips; I'll see about using siege and EMP/grenades to destroy them.
crepuscular.9047
Seems to be based on damage done, I got couple counts on the first 2 days without using siege weapons, power better than condiFor using siege weapons ...The easiest one to get is to knock down the gates, run ahead right before the NPC escort end, throw down your ram and start smashing itthe fortifications and tents, make sure you are quick on your feet and throw down your catapult, it's better to be bit far away than too close, because you will shoot over the target even with the lowest shooting powernot uncommon to spend up to 3 catas at each outposts
Pifil.5193
EMP destroys... tents... OK for some reason that never occurred to me but it also stuns enemies so why not. Thanks guys. That will make this easier.Edit: ah, it's Electromagical Pulse and not Electromagnetic Pulse, OK, never mind so.
Lamont.5973
I would add, also that the ability to destroy structures ends when the even boss shows up, the one that is the boss of that particular outpost. Even though you still have to kill the boss and gain control of the outpost, you are no longer able to destroy barriers and doors, etc at that point. notebene.3190
Sadly, the EMP thing dropping in doesn't work so well when you are alone, and there is a (incoming hyperbole) 7 min wind up to cast it and (more hyperbole) 10 min cool down, and (one last time) 5,000 things are killing you while you try to do it. :(

WDBoldstar.7649
FWIW, you wouldnt even have to drop back to get more EMP in most maps I've been in. I usually see at least one personal drop a portable waystation to help Pillaging along, and If no-one else does, I tend to drop one these days myself. I find two taps of EMP applied directly to the offending structure is enough to destroy said structure almost all the time. If a lot of people are doing it and you tag the structures with a couple weapons taps, you can probably get Pillage credit within one or two invasions of a specific place - or at least such was my experience once I figured the EMP thing out. Donari.5237
As of today's patch, looks like EMP won't do it but grenades might. The notes say EMP's been nerfed vs structures but grenades have been buffed. I haven't tested this yet.
