Rainshine.5493
So I get to 425, do the first quest, go to the sylvari area. I find the Varietal Seeds, talk to the Mender gardener guy, and now he tells me to go craft the composter.According to the in-game tooltip I'm supposed to craft it; according to wiki, I'm supposed to get the chef in the Grove to craft it. She doesn't have the option, and I can only find the ascended recipe version of the composter in my list. What am I missing?EDIT: I read right over a search result that suggested repairing my game to someone with the same problem. Trying that now.EDIT 2: Nope, no dice.
Ronan.9518
You yourself have to craft the ascended version of the the composter (there is no other version/rarity, just the trophy in the achievment panel is "rare" (for whatever reason)).Only that one page https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Portable_Composter_(collection) of the wiki is unclear, as it should say "the player" instead of "the chef"fromhttps://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Gourmet_TrainingTalk to the mender, and he will send your character off to gather some Varietal Herb Seeds. The seeds are a random drop from herb-type plants in Central Tyria. One decent spot to farm these are Verdant Herbs along the shore north of Point of interest.png Forge Foundations — [&BI8GAAA=]. When ready, return to Earie, who will then unlock the recipe to craft Portable Composter. Make one at the cooking stations nearby, then return to him one last time to complete this section, and receive 10 chef ranks and a garden plot in your home instance. Khisanth.2948
You just have to be carrying a composter while talking to the NPC in the grove. Who crafted it doesn't matter.I completed that on two characters. On the second character I just used the same composter I used for the first character.
