End Game Content Poll (PVE)

Raids and fractals are ALOT harder than strikes(fractal t4 and cms)Fractal mechs can mostly be ignored with overheal and stab and projectile reflect or blocks... and sometimes dealing alot of dmg makes skipping some mechsIn raids the chance of failure is higher in my personal opinion. There are specific roles in some bosses. Positioning is more important than fracs and the bosses have alot of hp and skipping their mechs are harder cuz of harder attacks and stronger enemies or debuffsSooo personaly ill state it like this...Raids > fractal cm 100/99 > strikes=fractalt4s > fractal t1-3Boneskinner and whisper of jormag are an exception tho. I assume them as cm fractal bosses... but a little weaker

Abandoned content? But Arenanet said:

Reports of their death have been greatly exaggerated, though I apologize that our silence on the topic raised that concern. It's only been 7 months since they said that so give them some time.

edit: for anyone that doesn't get it: I'm obviously being sarcastic here

It would have been fractals for me while I was doing Fractal God. Still enjoy fractals a lot, but haven't done a single CM+T4 in probably 2-3 weeks due to rl time constraints and other guild commitments (WvW, raids, etc.).

Raids I enjoy the most out of the 3 content types mentioned. I usually FC on Mondays, then help out 1-3 times per week depending on time (I don't PUG at all and haven't for a while now, though we do fill up with PUG players sometimes) in semi statics and guild groups of different skill level guilds I am in. Strictly speaking without running daily fractals, raids take up most of my time atm.

Strikes I used to do daily for weeks, even the Warband escort solo daily. Ever since the last LW release I've stopped running them. The latest strike is just afk for 8 minutes. Didn't even open the chest last week. It's nice instanced farm content, but since I neither need the gold, nor enjoy strikes as much as raids (they are all pretty much glorified damage golems) just does not hold my interest.

Fractals. It's fast and very profitable. Fractal god a year ago. I'd like a bit more "challenging" fractals (not "longer" fractals as you do, if you read me anet)I'm doing strikes because I haven't finished the collections yet, it's okaiish but honestly not very entertaining. I'll stop right after.Raids : I have no pve guild, and wait for hours in LFG or angry coms, aren't entertaining neither; so no. :anguished:

Yeah, fractals are a thousand times easier to get going, and way more likely to be successful even with the common PUG.

Raids eat up the vast majority of my time. Every day we complete t4 fracs+recs, daily strike, daily crafting, event daily and random daily stuff in about an hour. Then off to the raid lfg. Static for hot raids is on the weekend so I have plenty of time to clear out w5-7 during the week. If I am not raiding I am usually gearing a new class or practicing dps since I am boon support main. Been working on the skyscale from time to time if things are slow.

Regards ,

Alac man

Fractals>>>> RaidsThat said I honestly would of preferred dungeons stick around, and that the PvE content stuck to the Five man set-up we had at launch. I like having a small group of friends for hard end-game content not ten people which likely never actually ends up doing said content without having to fill with a pug. And there is something to be said about walking up to the entrance of a dungeon and walking inside knowing you're in for a ride (But like most of the content aimed at End-game pve guild wars 2 falls and fell utterly short of being lucrative in the fun department.)

Hi Virdo,

I think so. I don't have the quote on hand , but I think anet had intentions of strikes introducing 10 man content to more people. The strikes so far have not been as mechanic intense as many of the raids , but at least more people understand the need for healing, boons , and heavy hitting dps builds.

@Roche.7491 said:I spend most of my time in fractal farming gold.

Gold per hour which is better? fractal or raid?

Simple math with slight variation due to rng and fractal rank. Fractals give around 10-15 gold per day (CM+T4+recs), around 1h-1h30m. Add an additional 3-5 gold per fractal god rank on top.

Raids are pretty much a fixed 60 gold per week, with between15-40 gold in exotic drops (depending on what you get). An additional 10-20 gold in Magnetite Shards and Gaeting Crystals (depending on amount of minis and weapons you get).

Both types of content reward ascended gear, with a slight edge to raids which have their drop rate adjusted for weekly clears. So as far as saving gold for crafting ascended, raids give a tad more.

If you can full clear all 7 raid wings in sub 4 hours, you can make more gold than a low-medium reward fractal run. If you are higher rank in fractal god title track AND can clear fractals daily, you will out perform raids in gold and loot. If you are Fractal God, you most definitely will outperform raid gold/loot reward.

For me my progression went something like thisOpen World -> Personal Story -> Map Meta Bosses -> Dungeons -> Living Story ->Fractals -> Strikes -> Raids & WvW & PvP

Right now for me Raiding and WvW are the most fun and neither of those game modes have been updated in a while...

Don't really do any of them much tbh..Fractals I got tired off and just havent really gone back to in a while.

Strikes changed.. started getting too difficult for "introduction raid content" and less fun, Some of them are even harder than Raids now and some you can't even do legit because of stupidly ridiculous mechanics.. looking at you Boneskinner.Imo no strike mission should ever be more difficult than the easiest raids are.

Raids I never really got into, never had enough people to play the content with regularly and there's far too much going on with raiding communities that I just don't agree with and imo suck all of the fun out of raiding.

Which strike is harder than a raid? its only hard to get gold on whisper, the kill itself is quite forgiving. boneskinner gets trivial with a scourge.

Fractals became too easy with powercreep so they can be cleared in 30-40m. I do maybe 3 times a week fractal dailies but spend more time on the weekly raid clear. Want t6 fractals or even unlimited scaling. No fractal cm boss should be able to die in 20 sec and boss phases lasting 2-3sec even in cms is ridiculous.
