How do you actually kill the phalanx in the frost citadel?

I've been trying to deplete their cc bar and using the tools from the legion waystations but I always get an indicator of 0. I really need them for that achievement where you can get a certain thing only from them (same with the big tank but sadly everyone steals my charr tank before I can get in to damage the big one) but I can't seem to get credit because nothing I try works on them.I can't read anything on their healthbars either since everything is so flashy, they die too quickly and the game drops from 120+ fps to like 15 with so much going on at the same time.Do I have to use a cheap method of spamming AoEs, condis and ranged attacks like everyone does these days to get credit instead of actually focusing on rotations and top dps?

I was using a combination of the EMPs from the waystations, and then my normal CC skills while the EMP was on cooldown. Unless I was overlooking something that seems to have been working.

I think this might be a decent use for siege, but I haven't actually tried it.

Update, I got it today by trying to use all the cc and EMP 2.0s again. As soon as I saw a bar depleted I hit with everything I got.Thanks for helping though
