Fast Hands Baseline needed more than ever ......

Notice that there isn't single off hand weapon with mobility on it(except the the little dash on shield) and there isn't single handed weapon with dodge on it, so there is no contender for the GS slot or the shield slot. Seems like Arenanet are too lazy to design working weapons for warrior, if you think about it spellbreaker is the laziest design out of the PoF batch.For fucks sake Rifle got shit ton of mechanic buffs and its still useless ou and you still fucking cast the fucking dodge on it, the fucking purpose of the skill is to defend yourself not tank the damage and then dodge.

I think it's more that unless another mh weapon gets an evade then GS will be the main weapon of choice and unless another oh gets mobility+cc that shield will still get taken. I think that if they fixed the bugged speed gain on axe 5 it would get taken more often.

Just as a note that I find is important, if you have suggestions and ideas on adjustments or changes that are specifically tied to PvP, or might help better the PvP/WvW experience of Warriors; i.e things like Banner changes that will actually make them not so outdated, fast hands being baseline, offhand weapon skills being made better, etc then these things should try to be directed onto the PvP/WvW sections of the forums.

CMC just said in a State of the Game stream he did with Teapot and Angeels that it will be the best place for him to see these things so that he can parse through the suggestions and see what can be done on his end and what he might be able to forward to the skills team.

Oh and also CMC himself said, when asked what class he feels is sort of the ideal place that he would like other classes to be in regards of their power in PvP/WvW, and this is paraphrased a little "Warrior is pretty close to the ideal power level".

Then they have a lot of nerfing to do to other professions... Like to the point that some players will QQ endlessly about on the forums and then rage quit for 6 months because were warrior is relative to others is pretty bad right now given this "ideal power level." Maybe balance patch 2.0 will see major nerfs to a few other classes...

Someone should start a warrior change omnibus thread over here for us to discuss and collect the changes we all feel and mostly agree that warrior needs in order to perform properly given its supposed place as the "ideal power level" and then once it is fleshed out post on the WvW and PvP forums.

See, you take a weapon set and then compare it 1:1 with one of the utility area another weaponset gives you. There are weapons that are better in mobility, while others are better strictly defensively, others provide dmg or a mixture of those. They don't do the same thing and they by far SHOULDN'T. You make a choice of weapon per-mode because they do different things, not because they're reskins of the same skillset. One weapon overperforming another in a given situation seems pretty normal and almost unavoidable.

Most of the weapons on warrior don't have proper purpose and don't bring anything worthwhile. So many weapons that can't be picked cause greatsword and shield are the better option.

They are "better" because of what matters at the given situation, not sure how that changes what I said.

Have it your way and never have use of the weapons in any mode. Rifle could have been bufffed for PVE only, it wasn't, off hand sword could have been good in pvp if the block wasn't single use and it does fuck all for pve, hammer can't be picked in pve since mace/mace does more breakbar damage funny thing is it is just auto attack set. Most of the weapons have dead skills in them even the all mighty GS has Bladetrail and Hundred blades which is probably the worst channeled ability in the game.

Considering there are WAY more weapons available than there are modes ... that's not someone 'having it their way' ... that's just going to be how it is. We should NOT forget that we have choices because of flavour and theme, NOT because of performance.

Considering there are WAY more weapons available than there are modes ... that's not someone 'having it their way' ... that's just going to be how it is. We should NOT forget that we have choices because of flavour and theme, NOT because of performance.If the flavour was viable enough i would run it but as things are right now, most weapons don't do their job at all, longbow does better power damage then rifle and it is a condition weapon.

If you attach an additional effect like the damage to riposte, then the block shouldn't last 3 seconds.Shield should have the niche of a longer block time, while riposte should trade some of the block for the damage.

If you attach an additional effect like the damage to riposte, then the block shouldn't last 3 seconds.Shield should have the niche of a longer block time, while riposte should trade some of the block for the damage.Probably should be like the engi hammer with 2 seconds, and do little power and little bit of bleeding, i wonder also should it work like punish skill or just do damage while casted like the engi hammer, the second will make it useful for PVE.

That would probably be the best change. Another would be for Riposte to be the flipover instead of Adrenaline Rush. Block for the length you want/need, then use the flipover to use what the current attack is.

If it doesn't meet your performance requirements ... don't use it. If it doesn't meet WHATEVER your criteria is to choose a weapon ... don't use it.

The weapons' 'job' is to be there for flavour, not do something better than something else. These weapons don't exist because in some particular scenario, they are the best. If that was there reason to exist, half of them wouldn't.

Except "my way" would keep being based on weapons performing in different scenarios. Making a sword pretty-much-a-shield-but-with-damage-and-shorter-cds solves nothing, because if you want weapons to compete in the same areas, one will always be better than the other unless they're pretty much copies of each other -but then what's the point of having different weapons that in reality are just reskins?Buffing weapons in the same area another weapon specializes in might just make you use weapon "B" instead of "A", while "A" takes place of now "completely useless". I'm not sure how that solves anything you're complaining about. It's better to have weapons that do different things even if that means they'll be better in one mode and worse in another.

See, you take a weapon set and then compare it 1:1 with one of the utility area another weaponset gives you. There are weapons that are better in mobility, while others are better strictly defensively, others provide dmg or a mixture of those. They don't do the same thing and they by far SHOULDN'T. You make a choice of weapon per-mode because they do different things, not because they're reskins of the same skillset. One weapon overperforming another in a given situation seems pretty normal and almost unavoidable.

Most of the weapons on warrior don't have proper purpose and don't bring anything worthwhile. So many weapons that can't be picked cause greatsword and shield are the better option.

They are "better" because of what matters at the given situation, not sure how that changes what I said.

why is it bad for pvp, cause it blocks ONE ATTACK, shield blocks all attacks in those 3 seconds so even if you are on condition build people will pick shield, make Riposte damage people every time they attack in a small cone in front of the warrior for 3 seconds while he blocks ,something like
but only when they attack with some low damage and low bleeds and tada you have a offhand that does something like shield but it has its own niche.

...so just make riposte an upgraded shield block? Ah yes, that's perfectly reasonable and you totally wouldn't "reverse-complain" about it in 2 months. Some weapons will always be weaker under different circumstances and people will always compare the extremes to claim something needs to be buffed. Now I'm not saying the weapons don't need some changes, but you seem to want all of them to compete in the same areas. At this point just copy paste them all, because otherwise you'll always need to pick x over y.

Have it your way and never have use of the weapons in any mode.

Considering there are WAY more weapons available than there are modes ... that's not someone 'having it their way' ... that's just going to be how it is. We should NOT forget that we have choices because of flavour and theme, NOT because of performance.If the flavour was viable enough i would run it but as things are right now, most weapons don't do their job at all, longbow does better power damage then rifle and it is a condition weapon.

If it doesn't meet your performance requirements ... don't use it. If it doesn't meet WHATEVER your criteria is to choose a weapon ... don't use it.

The weapons' 'job' is to be there for flavour, not do something better than something else. These weapons don't exist because in some particular scenario, they are the best. If that was there reason to exist, half of them wouldn't.But currently most warrior weapons lack the said flavour. Being useless is not a flavour.

Rifle could have been bufffed for PVE only, it wasn't, off hand sword could have been good in pvp if the block wasn't single use and it does kitten all for pve, hammer can't be picked in pve since mace/mace does more breakbar damage funny thing is it is just auto attack set. Most of the weapons have dead skills in them even the all mighty GS has Bladetrail and Hundred blades which is probably the worst channeled ability in the game.

Except "my way" would keep being based on weapons performing in different scenarios. Making a sword pretty-much-a-shield-but-with-damage-and-shorter-cds solves nothing, because if you want weapons to compete in the same areas, one will always be better than the other unless they're pretty much copies of each other -but then what's the point of having different weapons that in reality are just reskins?Buffing weapons in the same area another weapon specializes in might just make you use weapon "B" instead of "A", while "A" takes place of now "completely useless". I'm not sure how that solves anything you're complaining about. It's better to have weapons that do different things even if that means they'll be better in one mode and worse in another.And yet sword has always had a block punish skill that doesn't work and it is never picked anywhere, shield brings hard cc and long duration block, sword brings condition damage and block, see they have their place.Give me an example where i would pick off hand sword over anything else cause it certainly it is not better at anything over other weapons. Maybe they will rework arms and make it useful, but i don't see it happening soon.

That doesn't make sense; any given weapon CAN'T have a particular flavour you want to impart on it ... all weapons are constrained in their design by their concept which gives them their flavour. Whether a weapon is useful or not has NOTHING to do with it's flavour. That's a performance assessment. Maybe you don't like the flavours you have, but that doesn't mean they don't exist because you don't like how the weapons perform.

So here is the bottomline: Weapons don't exist because of performance, so performance isn't a reason to question their existence or (blow your mind here ... get ready ....) suggest they should have a 'job' or not be 'useless'.
