Grandmaster herald trait idea

How about removing Elevated Compassion and replace it with a new trait. EC is a trait that gets chosen only very very seldom anyway. Could be decent if it worked with draconic echo.

A trait that changed the Facet of Chaos to pulsing Quickness instead of Protection. It also couldnt work with either Draconic Echo or Forceful persistence(pls buff),cuz of being grandmaster trait.Both are strong boons. (also if rene is able to pulse 10man alac with high damage, why shouldnt herald be able to pulse 5man quickness with terrible dmg?)So it would stuck in an 5man aspect that only works when it drains energy. This trait would also be able to compete with the other 2 traits.

Why this idea?`It could help removing some of the Heralds sustain in WvW/PvP, which seemed to be a bit of a problem in the past (idk if it still is), while maintaining the "under 3sec boon duration in 3sec pulse interval".And it could help in PvE to bring Herald out of the joke-meta.

It wouldnt make herald superior in any imaginable way, just a bit more "useful" in some situations.It wouldnt really make a herald stronger, just move some of its group-sustain (through protection) into group-damage (quickness)

Not sure how well that would work. Renegade is powerful because it has strong and unique buffs only it provides and it's the only other source of sustainable group alacrity. Changing Facet of Chaos to Quickness wouldn't help us in organized groups where Quickness is puked by FB, so it would mostly be for ourselves as a replacement for Impossible Odds Quickness.

This would turn us more glassy in PvP modes but also probably get us slapped with serious damage nerfs because then 'Perma Quickness Heralds are OP' will be everywhere. WvW would be especially bad because we could effectively stack passive Quickness which isn't really a good thing to have.

Herald nerfs are coming anyway, because people are too lazy to think about "what could be done in fight".

Also in wvw, since they turned the boon duration of it in pvp/wvw down, it wouldnt really be able to overstack anything. I think anet would choose something like 1sec quickness in 3sec pulse.

Nah would still not play it over echo.

if the cooldown would be cut to 1sec & the heal maybe gets increased to 400 base ,then it COULD be used.

i mean its not even healing the herald itself. only allies...

dont know if its sarcasm now or not, but yes its only healing allies ^^

Facet of Chaos was fine, they didn't have to touch anything. Herald is getting unwarranted nerfs to please those that can't learn from their mistake. The only real nerf it deserves is Infuse Light to 2 seconds while it's heal gets increased a little. In that regard Gaze of Darkness also should get it's 20 seconds back if they touch anything else.

The real problem is how easy it is to full heal, the criterias aren't even rewarding proper activation unless it's a singular burst coming.

i dont think infuse light is that big of a problem. If people dont know when to stop attacking ,it can be very good.

In fights where people can notice, when the heal got activated, it can be almost completely negated. This can make it to an terrible healing overall.What would be an fine nerf is lowering the heal from infused light to 66% of the damage taken. but then it should have an base-healing of at least 2500....or simply just remove the base heal...

but nevermind. Herald just received an big nerf to sustain. Any other nerf to that would be more and more ridiculous. (as if wasnt ridiculous with the Chaos-Facet already)

I think it would be an better solution to Remove EC and add its mechanic to Shining aspects, so we heal allies ONLY when using Actives.

This way we can decide from Might - Group Sustain (heal) - Self Sustain (dmg-reduction)instead of might - self sustain - self sustain

Herald only strong "self sustain" its the activation of infuse light everything else is for its allies, even on support builds u wont heal youself as much u can heal other like other support classes, its a good trade off and tyhis is houw every other support/ealing roles should work.
