Is Cantha being built with mounts in mind??

I am hoping not. Part of Cantha's appeal in the original game was the closeness of Kaineng and the surrounding area.

Thinking about it, the isles of Shing Jea would be ideal for mounts, but the mainland that includes Kaineng and the Echovald Forest would do better with unmounted movement in mind. This could then be expanded to the Jade Sea being perfect for mounts, solid or liquid.

After 250 years, Kaineng might have been reduced to rubble in whatever cleansing war happened in Cantha. ANet has a lot of latitude for design after such a time-skip.

Agreed. However, if you re-watch the teaser, you can see construction similar to the Canthan architecture of old after the vision flies through the Shing Jea gates.

Masteries from HoT were never required for PoF. The same will go for the next one. Maps will be built in mind that players do have any of the previous masteries but nothing will require them.

The recent upgrade to skimmer was probably just them trying to do something special for the players in the anniversary.
