cyberzombie.7348
Has anyone ever found any practical use for this catapult skill Hallowed Gravel? If so, in what fashion?
Sviel.7493
In theory, it's useful for a fight directly after a breach...but in reality, it does negligible damage (to 50 targets!) and there are very rarely fights directly after a wall breach. It's a holdover from the genesis of WvW where a bunch of stuff was thrown in with no apparent use case and, all these years later, none has ever been found. Dawdler.8521
Its so slow and so spread wide you wouldnt even be able to hit a zerg trying to get hit.
Fat Disgrace.4275
You use to be able to get into enemy south west spawn on alpine maps and build a few catapults there and burst bleed afk people. That's the only use.
Gorani.7205
If it would add additional 10 sec of Cripple or 2 sec of Immobilize, it could find some niche use, but right now (and how it has been since release), it is a "damn I pushed a wrong button skill". Chaba.5410
I bet those projectiles are still affected by reflects. Nothing more funny than watching someone using gravel destroy their own cata. Sadly it's a rare event. That's the only practical use of gravel I've found.
Blocki.4931
It can one shot people, but if you find yourself on a catapult in a fight you might as well use the normal shots and CC everybody and more reliably damage more of them at once. SoftFootpaws.9134
In theory its to damage enemy zergs with the catapult during sieges. However, practically everyone uses the normal attack instead because it does mass CC to the zerg which is often more valuable, same reason trebs are used for defense.I've found it to have one major use--when defending SMC gates from the top floor piers, you can hit alot of players. TinkTinkPOOF.9201
They made a change to it some time ago, it used to be good, as the rocks were tightly packed into the same area as the normal shot. If you hit someone with it, it would insta down them in most cases if all the rocks hit the same target. They then made it so all the projectiles are spread out in a "fan" like pattern, making the skill 100% useless.
cyberzombie.7348
So from what I've gathered its designed to give cover fire post-breach but fails to do that completely in its current iteration. Now it just carries the same niche of an arrow cart just with a wider spead, longer range, and almost negligible dps.
MedievalThings.5417
It literally has no use. Blobs have near perma superspeed, it's a slow useless projectile spread, that hits no one ever.
Justine.6351
From a high elevation it can one shot people apparently.

So in theory it can be useful if fired from vantage points targeting stationary zergs, but requires two or more to deal heavy damage.

cyberzombie.7348
I haven't had any luck of that happening they just spread out regardless of charge or elevation.
Wyrdern.4092
it used to clump the shots together at higher power before the rework but now it just spreads the shots out regardless and at long range the wide shots are going to be so wide that they might as well not exist
