You really have to wait 4/5 days before you can buy gear? Sitting on same shoulders at lvl 13 that I started with. Seems most regular vendors dont sell shoulders. Is this for real?

Sounds about right, and per the wiki 'Free accounts are limited to items from a selected list.'

When the game went free-to-play, suddenly it became much easier for bot and farming accounts to get the game and dive into the economy. Putting limiters on things like the trading post helps to curb some of the abuses that occur when a new account is made for less-than-stellar reasons.

For law-abiding players, this is meant to be only a minor inconvenience implemented to protect the game, so my advice is to just play around other areas of the game for 4/5 days and then check back and never worry about it again.

Yep. You really do have to wait to use the trading post. However, doing hearts, personal story, and drops from mobs or events do reward gear that will work just fine for leveling.

I think that most shoulders start at Level 15. You can always craft your own while you wait.

Wiki has a list of heart merchants and what they sell.

You can go from there to the items desired and then to the heart merchants that sell them.
