This assumes a healer, I was moving when i was messing with it solo. he has a massive frontal cleave attack as an auto.

No it dont assume any healer, you can move around out of the cone attack in melee range.

I really don't need more weapons, all I care are materials. New skins might be something nice for other players though.

Why do you play Drms then? All the materials you get in them is used for said weapons you say you dont need.EditA better use of your time if you care about materials would be drizzlewood

Does that look like I was talking about the cone? I wasn't. His autos hit like a truck and you can't just sidestep them.

Use the weapon sigil or play necro chrono and alac that can destroy boons.

I have a couple of issues with the rewards. The DRMs mostly feel like small dungeon paths. But when I look into my inventory at the end, I often feel I could have done a Legendary Bounty instead. I would have had more fun, better loot in a fraction of the time.

The NPCs in the DRMs loot EXP baseline, something that I should not be grateful for. But looking back at Kourna I actually am grateful for this fact. Is it much? When I want to level my Dragon Slayer Masteries, I join a Drizzlewood Coasts map. Leveling with DRMs would take significantly longer.

The loot table of the NPCs are rather disappointing, they cannot drop gear :S. (example: Destroyer Soldier)

I was hoping for the two Masteries, which enhance the rewards. They do not change anything with the regular NPCs, just add a little bonus loot (Seal + Prismaticite Crystal) in the final chest. The more challenge-motes are active, the more bonus-loot.

If you are not interested in those super-expensive weapon collections, you are mostly fighting for the seals. If there is nothing at the seal-vendor you are interested in, you are free to purchase Supply Boxes or Beads of Liquid Karma (8 seals, 500 karma each). I only run the public versions, as none of my PVE guilds are interested in this content at the moment. So I get 6-8 Seals per run. The dailies reward +5 seals each. My usual routine is one of the daily DRMs, which results in two daily chests (slayer + mission). So I end up between 16 and 18 seals.

If I play any other content, I usually get more and more useful rewards.

It's new, I'm joining the community for the events. I don't play much these days. Otherwise I would be raiding instead of using all the other content.I do agree Drizzlewood is the right place for people in need of materials. It is a bit time consuming I you want to complete the whole chain.

DRMs aren't terrible. They're just terrible as the sole method of story content delivery. I was much more excited for story releases during LS3/LS4. They delivered far more content as well as a much wider variety of content. Compare these short, formulaic instances (pre-event -> escort -> boss) to actual story episodes with full open world maps. It feels very low-effort to me. If DRMs had been part of a regular story release, I'd feel a lot better about them.

DRM gameplay is pretty okay and the length is completely fine given the majority of the player base has no problem meta farming for 3 hours at a stretch

Where they blew it tremendously is the rewards

I have no idea how they got strikes so correct and then shit the bed so spectacularly with DRM's

The fact that people still do fractals after all these years means they will do party instanced content if you give them a reason to

That reason just needs to not be karma weapons from the game's release or hilariously expensive crafting nesting doll weapons
