Happy April Fools everyone! I thought the tonic was rather cool. I especially liked the telekinetic weapons and legendary trinket effects showing and gliders (or at least the legendary ones) showing. It reminded me of the cool way Balthazar wielded his greatsword in the Vlast cutscene of the PoF story.
Would be amazing if some clever person were to capture high res clips of the effects. Choya gliding with The Ascension, for example, plus legendary weapons sheathed is funny / cool. I really liked the tonic + reaper + gravedigger animation with Twilight, as a specific example. Knowing how cool the legendary weapon animations are, someone could spread a lot of joy by capturing/posting these with the tonic. (I bet Astralaria + Firebrand would look amazing too.)
Not going to beg for it to be permanent, but it would be good to know if it is worth saving the tonic for April 1, 2022 and 2023, and ...
I got that Choya transformation potions and tried to take camps with it in WvW. Now I can not find any Choya Sage in Lion's Arch (checked GW2 wiki for it), so I wonder if it is only a joke or does that NPC exist? Is it even possible to finish those achievements or are those meant to tease people?
Nope, The joy is going to WvW as well. There is even a task to conquir the biggest thing in the mist war while under the influence of the tonic!!
I understand that its currently usable in WvW and that there is an achievement tied to it, what I was saying is that I'm all for the tonic being a permanent part of the game as long as it isn't permanent in WvW.
In case anyone frets over the achievements, you don't really have to complete them for the rewards.
But, it's fun to do them as a Choya.
You can wear Halo and Representation Button and all manner of other things with the tonic.
You can use Novelties, as well.
If you dance, there are different dance animations.
It's a lot of fun; thanks Devs, job well done.
Also, the cats from the contest offered at the last Extra Life event are in Eye of the North, as well as a new Giant Cat (seen with the Chatoyant Elixir or the new Chatoyant Lens).

You don't really need to do anything for the achievement. The chief isn't really checking if you did what you claim. Achievement is checked based on the honor system, which means you can just say what you want. It only changes your personality which is used for absolutly nothing.
Yeah. It is actually in the hint. "This achievement functions on the honor system." I just lied to finish the stuff so I could move on to my other daily routine.
Is it only me or do we get an invisible charr-exoskelett when we take the tonic? Since when I dance and I have bugged out legy hand effects above me it sure looks like the charr dance. And when I look at my Abyss Infusion and sometimes when running it looks like if it tilts down on "all fours".

The choya in LA has an icon on the map. It’s basically impossible to miss ...
Surely there is a post already about the tonic, but really, make it permanent. I never knew I wanted to be a choya engineer until now! A Choyineer!
I also enjoy a lot being a Deadoya, a Weavya, A Choymancer or Scappoya.
Feel free to merge my post if one already exist. This isn't April Fools, this is CONTENT.

There's an achievement? Is it the one you immediatly get when talking to the NPC in Lion's Arch or a different one?
whats an honor "SYSTEM"? does it mean if you dont do cm fractals and do some other fractals with choya tonic and speak to the choya sage, the system tracks internally you're dishonorable? and that might be used in future content somewhere and this is some kinda another new version of the shadowstone "anomalous appearances" achi?

You think too much, it's just a line put for flavour, nothing more.

I'm not sure what specifically it means here as I haven't logged in yet, but in general terms an honour system is something you're expected to do (because it would be dishonourable not to) but no one is actually enforcing it - like when someone leaves items for sale and a box to put the money in on an unattended stall - the sign might say it's on the honour system, meaning they trust you to pay for anything you take but no one will actually know it was you if you don't.
In this case I assume it means you don't actually have to do the achievements and can still claim whatever rewards are available just by talking to the NPC again. I've heard that one of them is to conquer Stonemist Castle in WvW (the hardest location to capture) so my guess is Anet wanted to put in a bunch of things which would be crazy to do as a choya but didn't want anyone to feel they're going to miss out because of the short time limit and difficult achievements.
I'm so glad to see these kind of April Fools jokes back after several years of none. It seems Anet did well since it is a tonic that can be turned off and on. This way it does not really affect people that don't like things like the old jokes. I personally love it and it really made my day. I'll join others and say I hope this is can be made into a version that works after April 1. It's so funny and awesome. I took screen shots for the first time in a long time using the tonic. Thanks for doing this great work!
I call this picture, "Let me give you a hand of applause."

Just to be super clear, this has no effect anywhere for any purpose, other than "you can lie to play an April Fool's trick on the sage if you want".

This post was made before the article linked in the OP was published, but I'm going to borrow it to make sure there is no confusion: This tonic works until April 6. It's mentioned in the article along with other information about how the tonic works, and there's a countdown timer in game showing the time left.

Would it be possible to let it work even after that date?
The whole point of a social game is to play with the people you want to play with, not be forced to play with the people you don't.

This. I'd buy it from the gem store.
Please no. There are other Choya tonics already available in the game, and fortunately they are just for fun and cannot be used in combat.
Well I like it and would use it as a combat tonic like the other combat tonics. It isn't like you would be forced to buy it and use it. Or do you have something against Choya as opposed to the other combat tonics?
Every living story I check if there's an endless quaggan or skritt combat tonic yet. Choya is pretty close but odd it'd be temporary for 1 day. Oh well.

The post is inaccurate regarding Novelties...unless they have changed it since last night.
All of us 'Choya' were using kites last night; not sure which other Novelties might work.
I like the touch that the achievements don't give exact objectives. I decided the largest WvW objective I could capture was a camp, the hardest Fractal I could do was 1 and the most dragon minions I could kill was whatever I got today.
(I was tempted to actually go for Stonemist, but my server already has it and is determined not to let it go and I don't have that much time.)
So unfortunately, as I couldn't mount morphed and the effects are lost after downed state, my dream of being in the middle of a bunch fo choya during a meta is ruined. (Don't judge me, the aoe patch didn't even show up because of player density).

As long as its disabled in WvW and Spvp, I'm all for it.

Exactly! please can we still use it after today.

I really do hope they make this a permanent tonic it is by far one of the best tonics released in the game.

He's there, in the main plaza (Grand Piazza). He wanders around a bit in the plaza.
Just so you know, you don't really have to complete the 'events' for the achievements. Just talk to him.

be sure: you need take SM on wvw first to get achievement

Finally ArenaNet nailed it. This is the best gift of 1st April ever. In 8 years of gameplay we never got something this funny.
A big shout with a huge THANK YOU to ArenaNet. THANK YOU!
One man trash another man treasure.
Yes please yes!!! Make it permenant!!! Its the best combat tonic ever!!!
Chronomancer? Necromancer? Which is it? The suspense is killing me! It can be both!
My Choyserker, Choyrage, Choyasmith and Choyvenant say hi!
But yeah, the tonic is pretty funny and great!
I think they should disable it for WvW after today but keep it for PvE.
OH no, Choya wvw zergs forever. This is the best thing ever.
I'm not able to log in yet, but it sounds like I've got a lot of interesting stuff to check out when I do.
I'm glad they re-enabled the cat tonic from last year as well as adding this new one.

Just an FYI, the 'cat tonic' has been enabled for the last week. (It was in the last Patch Notes.)
I just want to add my name to the list of those who want this to be use-able 24/7 and not just today !

Please yes. Though, make it an in-game reward rather than a purchase from the Gem Store. It would make a great Meta Achievement reward.
Yawn...can we just get this month over with so we can get some info on EoD already....thanks.
I agree, it's fun - but I would not want to see this being permanently useable in WvW. Hence my previous "Please no."
