I cannot understand how SAB is a festival!

Seriously, I can't believe SAB or Super Adventure Box is a festival! What exactly are we celebrating? How is it a "Festival"? This is a minigame or Virtual game created by Moto who had a long time to finish this game. At least let us buy a Portable Super Adventure Box for our Home instance so we can play it whenever we want. I can understand Winters Day being a festival, or Halloween being a festival, but THIS?! Calling SAB a festival makes no sense.

Anyways I would really like to buy and play this content with friends whenever I want. I don't care if there is no World 3 or World 4... I just want to play the current worlds we have whenever I want. =(

Festival is simply another term for Event. There aren't any traditional server wide events besides this.

    Bite me.

As already mentioned, it was originally introduced as an April's Fools event, people liked, so it stayed as an annual event. It's called Festival due to its annual nature.

The whole point of a social game is to play with the people you want to play with, not be forced to play with the people you don't.

  • Guys, there is not enough content in that thing to last all year long. I only played it for a few weeks and I'm pretty bored.

It's like a classic 8 bit game in every aspect, including the only a few hours of game part.

The whole thing started as a joke/April fool's day gag. The players enjoyed it so much they have continued to bring it back just about every year for April Fool's day.

Remember the playerbase's reaction when SAB, the live-action ad and the whole retro-game trend of that year rolled out onto GW2 the 1st time?

It was truly a sight to behold.

  • Alright, april 1 has passed. Was fun for 1 week or so. Lets get it over with and introduce some new activities, e.g. a Harvesting festival where you can earn all kinds of harvesting impovements :D

Seriously after you've gotten all the achieves and weapon skins (except kaiser/crimson), it's fun revisting it but you get sick of it fast.

Without new content added (or even planned) the only way to keep it alive is making it a festival. Imagine if wintersday was there whole year. Or canthan new year, which has basically no content to offer.
