Anyone manage to defeat Turai Ossa in Crown Pavilion?

Recommended Posts

I beat this on a Power Reaper today. Gs/Axe-Warhorn, Berserker armor/weapons, Spectral walk and flesh wurm and Signet of Spite. Nothing fancy, no trait changes for me, just those two utility swaps.Survive until he centres himself, and dodge the weapon throw and his break bar will appear. It’s timing all your ports and dodges that’ll win it.Endurance regeneration food will make it so much easier too.

Beat him on Viper Mirage! Took several tries (around 7, used the standard raid build because I was too lazy to mess around with stuff).

I really hope ANet makes more boss fights like these! They were truly epic and challenging. It's sad how many "sponge" bosses there are in the game--these were a great rebreather. Ossa doesn't have any screen clutter skills which is a pleasant surprise.

Oh, I also liked Suriel's return :)

I did it on my berserker, with GS and mace/shield. Use the shield to block attacks, en GS to dodge attacks. The mace is also usefull to CC him after breakbar.

Skills:Signet of stamina for faster endurance regenerationEndure PainDefiant StanceDolyak Signet for extra stabElite: Head Butt for the CC

I used a spellbreaker, wvw roaming build gs- axe/shield. Utilities endure pain, Bull charge (for the cc), balanced stance, elite signet. Just try to dodge/full counter/endure pain/Block attacks until he jumps to the middle of the arena. BLOCK THE INCOMING PROJECTILE AT ALL COSTS. Cc, keep hitting, then go to the regular dodge/block/endure pain pattern until he jumps to the center again. Repeat. Should be easy enough, got it on my 3rd try

Just run condi Mirage, spam the crap out of portal, blink, Jaunt and Dodges, For the first cc use a single clone f3, For the seccond one use signet of domination. It is a cheap fight, one of the worst designs to ever come to gw2, Not fun, boss cheats by knowing where you are gonna walk to by input reading or some simillar method.Hope anet doesn't make this a trend, It just shows how bad quality can be once laziness takes place instead of creativity. It is just sad that you gotta use such a cheap strat since it is such a cheap fight.

I thought it was pretty good. Since you can't effectively damage the boss and he's an absolute wrecking ball in the first phase, you have to bring enough defenses to outlast him. However, once you dodge his sword throw and break his bar, the priority switches to taking him down quickly. I've seen it done by most classes while waiting for my turn.

Did it on my 2nd try on condi Weaver (Sword/Focus, swapped several traits and all utilities to defensive ones).

It was a lucky run though -> I missed some dodges and was very low on HP several times throughout the fight. I was genuinely surprised when the achievement popped.

Now back to 8 orb Liadri - somehow I was better at this the first time around :'( -> Thanks for letting me go through this all over again ANet! <3

Killed him as a Soulbeast on my 4th try. The trick is to evade/block/stunbreak until he goes back to the middle of the arena again. If you manage to dodge his "throw" attack when he is back in the middle his breakbar will come up. After that it is just to break the bar and start to dps while avoiding his attacks as much as possible until his second buff goes out.

My gear was full Berserker with superior runes of durability for extra boon duration and toughness. During the figth I camped greatsword which has good dmg and a block on skill 4.For my traits I used:Nature magic: top-mid-midBeastmastery: bot-mid-midSoulbeast: top-mid-top

For my utility skills I used:We heal as one, Moa stance, Protect me, quickening zephyr, strength of the pack

The pet I used was the Rock Gazelle which gives more than enough CC for his breakbar together with greatsword skill 5.

When you start the fight wait until he gets attackable. Directly after that use Moa stance followed by protect me, strength of the pack and quickening zephyr. After that use we heal as one and then merge with f5. With this start you get plenty of stability, swiftness, protection, quickness, regenertion and fury. When your stability, evades and greatsword skill 4 is not available anymore you will be saved by the soulbeast grandmaster trait. If you manage your dodges and utility skílls well you will be able to withstand his first assults until he gets back to the middle of the arena and initiats phase 2 (breakbar phase). Then break his bar and start killing him.

Sorry if this write up is not completely clear. But I hope this will be of some help for you soulbeasts out there.

@"Edgy McEdgelord.4790" said:Wiki says its around 20 seconds until breakbar appears. I checked with a timer and he never did teleport earlier than after 45 seconds into the fight for me. Seems kinda broken? How to defeat him when his initial "ill 1shot you lil bich" phase is more than twice as long as it should be?

Looking back at a video I recorded of this fight, the transition happens at exactly 30 seconds from engagement. Whoever wrote the wiki article probably just got it wrong. As for how you beat him? That's up to you. Due to the unusual mechanics of the fight, it might make sense to use tankier gear and load up on mobility, blocks, invulns, and evades. After all, the boss doesn't have a ton of health and if you can survive the first 30 seconds, you should be able to finish the fight.

I've done this fight with full Viper and full Trailblazer (Mirage) and it was definitely easier with Trailblazer. The lost DPS doesn't matter, but being able to shrug off the damage he's dealing if you make a mistake is helpful.

Well 30 seconds would be no problem, but its just that he does not finish his roflstomp round after 30 seconds for me. Did a couple tries again just now and the longest I could survive until ultimately being downed was 48 seconds - still, he didnt go into the middle to throw his shield at all, just kept auto attacking me until i died.

Thats not really nice of him.edit: and I already switched from Viper to Minstrel on my FB, I just can't seem to catch a break from his first phase.

I did again yesterday on the first try...Firebrand is king for this i guess, mace/shield and x/focus...lots of blocks to the point that you can do it with closed eyes, just kite him around and after you break his first breakbar you can dps him, i was using mantra healing, quickness mantra for dps, hammer of wisdom and bane signet(guess its the name oft he power signet) to breakbar and "perma" stunlock him after first breakbar, and renewed focus in case you screw up and need to reset virtues to get blocks on demand with F3 and heals on F2, full griving armor and cele trinkets, Honor(for mace trait, plus heal on block and heal on dodge), Virtues(or radiance...cant really remenber lol) and FB.

You didn't dodge his throw attack. He stomps in the middle, then charges it and throws a projectile. If he hits you with it it flies back to him and superbuffs him with 25 stacks of might and quickness etc

I have come to the conclusion these fights are extremely niche.Difficulty is entirely based on which (elite)specialisation or class you roll.Warriors can waltz through tier 1 and 2, and up to luriel in tier 3 because they can spam stuns and CCBut once luriel warriors are fit for the grave only and you gotta run niche builds/classes for niche fights
