Low FPS / Lag Issues [MERGED]

Recommended Posts

I own:

Intel i5 750016 GB RAMGeforce GTX 1060 (6 GB VRAM)

All games I played so far (GTA V, BF4, BF1, DOOM, Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six Siege... and so on)... everything had a minimum of 50 to 60 FPS all the time. And the one game which constantly has frame drops is GW2. And why? Maybe because Arena Net set all calculating via CPU or the graphics engine is just programmed very badly. I have no clue. But I love that game and will play it. Hope dies last.

For sure it could. If lightning hits a power line, it can and will damage or break consumer electronics and electrical equipment in nearby houses.

Certainly can...blew out my Motherboard once, just hitting outside. Comes thru the powerlines/phone line. Why I now have a 3000Joule surge protector. (fingers-crossed) Lightning damage can often be noticed 1-2weeks later too. Delayed observation.

So I'm not sure what is happening and I don't know what the issue could be but it is irritating for PvP especially, so for a few months now, on and off, here and there I've been getting this weird lag issue where when I'm playing my ping spikes up to 100-4,000 that I don't get in other games usually and when this ping spike hits everything still keeps moving such as other players in pvp, my skills still work when I want them to but the only thing that doesn't work seems to be my mouse, the cursor disappears and I can no longer turn around with my mouse and its very impacting on all game modes not just PvP; I was wondering if anyone else is having the same issue or know how to fix it or it might just be from my end, Thanks.

Hiya, I just started playing again, and have had some latency issues that I'm unsure how to address. My FPS seems fine, and my ping is okay aside from some spikes which I believe are the main issue (<100 when I'm looking, around 60 to 80, usually shows an Average of ~150 or so). This issue is noticeably worse in Dungeons/Fractals, and a few times I've been in PvP since returning to the game (though it just may be more obvious to me due to time-sensitive dodges, actions, etc.).Things will often be fine, and then for a few moments every ten seconds or go, abilities will just stop. I can move, and usually anything I tried to press during the second (or more) delay will attempt to go off, and the game will jump back to the correct current state. I don't seem to have these issues in other, more lag-sensitive games (FPS & fighting games, Siege and For Honor lately).I've also run the GW2 Diagnostic, which I'll dump below. Nothing seems to out of the ordinary, except for one server with high packet loss (which seems to be constant through a 3 diagnosis runs). Let me know if there's any other data or information I can help provide. Any suggestions super welcome, thank you!!

Two weeks ago I started to have problems with fps, something I never had, I always played with a rate of 50 to 45 fps in the graphics for performance because my computer is not very strong, the interesting thing is that the problem is only with the gw2, I tested with POE, The Witcher 3 even the PUBG ran normally. I updated the video card driver but the problem continued, so I reinstalled the whole game, same thing. I do not know what to do now.

Specs - AMD FX-8320EAMD Radeon R7 360 2GB12GB RAM

BTW HAPPY BIRTHDAY - I've played since the first beta and this is a great game.

What's up guys.

I went back to playing after a while. Well, when I played about 4 years ago, in an i5 notebook, gtx 355m, 4gb ram, everything was running in the LOW-MID. The game ran smoothly, no gagging on the maps, all good, logically in the big Zergs in WVW and big events was that slideshow ...

After a while, I buy a new Desktop with the following settings:i5 74008gb RAMRX 580 4gbEven with this descending UPGRADE the game has a horrible frame drops! I can only play bursting at 50-60 FPS ( stopped, on an empty map) When I go on POF maps there the problems are worse. In the initial city (can not remember the name) it's slide rain ... it's BAD!

I looked at the official forum and saw that there were a lot of people complaining about the lack of optimization of the new maps. People with a 1080Ti with frame drops. BIZARRE! It's looking like PUBG before the official release.

I was playing with everything in High, but I've already dowgrade some stuff for Low and Medium settings. This is sad! Is the game so heavy?

My question is. How are you guys dealing with this? Is there any graph configuration tips to improve perfomance? Or is it content with lack of optimization and live with the "slides show" ?! Does anyone have similar setup and runs the game smooth? Solutions?

Character Model Limit or Quality causes severe fps drops in PoF maps for some PCs. Reflections may or may not cause problems too. I also suggest ensuring V-Sync is turned off, as it causes fps to randomly lock itself to 15 or 30.

For me, V-Sync and Character Model were what killed my fps, everything else got to stay max [shadows off] with a 60 fps limit to avoid heating up my gpu due to the game generating a lot of heat when ever I hit 120fps.
