Bashing Bauxite Alchemicals Event bugged

During the escort part through the tunnel, the NPCs get stuck in the walls to the side. They don't progress because enemies seem to spawn inside the walls too which results in an infinite battle until the timer runs out. You can hit the enemies and even the nametags are sometimes visible, the NPCs also pop out, but they always seem to go back. Happened on different parts of the tunnel. The event is relevant because it is part of the Incinerator III: Spark collection.

I've done the chain several times in the last year and it's always possible to progress it within the time limit. The main tactics I used:

  • Make sure you have decent AoE damage that doesn't require line of sight
  • Kill quickly. The longer the battle goes, the more chances of someone going somewhere they shouldn't.
  • Call out in /map or /guild before starting. It helps. (Worth also posting in LFG for chieves.)

I don't mean to suggest that it's smooth sailing always goes swimmingly. I just mean that one doesn't have to depend on waiting for a fix from ANet.

Turns out it's needed for a couple of collections, not just IncIII:Spark.
