[Bug] Guild Rush no chest

Recommended Posts

@"Gaile Gray.6029" said:I was curious about a few things, and had occasion to visit the official wiki page about Guild Races. I don't see reports of a bug that are similar to the ones in this post on the main page or the discussion page, and our wiki community is good about listing bugs. Too, I haven't seen other people saying they're also having problems.

Soo....

  1. Are these player getting favor?
  2. Did the chest appear with a message like, ""The chest is locked tight until you complete the guild rush course?"
  3. Or did the chest not appear at all?
  4. Are the correct number participating and are they fully transformed the whole time? I saw someone write that they "must" have completed the race because they transformed back into their character, but believe me, I know that doesn't mean you've been successful. ;)

I'll check with CS, as I'm not sure how many and what kind of reports they get and that's a relevant fact to share if I escalate this to the devs.

Are other guilds also experiencing this issue?

Ive been running in to this for months now, but didn't think anything of it.

  1. The guild still receives favor for doing the mission.
  2. The chest in the corner, above the map, does not appear once you are finished.
  3. The physical chest at the end of the race hasn't shown for me at any of the races I've done for about a year now, locked or otherwise.
  4. We typically run the race with 10-30 people. This is how it typically plays out for me.I play an Asuran Deadeye Thief. We all meet in the guild hall, explain the race to the new Guildies, split the squad in to 3, one group runs while the 2 others run defense for the first and second half of the race. Then my Co-leader, a Sylvari Firebrand, will start the mission and use the Guild Teleporter to have us all head to the map, where I activate the flag-poll. Then we run the mission like normal. Usually I get to the end, fireworks go off, the counter tic goes up by one, and that's it. No chest, no reward. I've tried doing the race up to 4 times and never received the reward, as have other members of my Guild. Its reached the point where we usually just skip the races, going after the rest of the missions instead.Whether or not the mission has been started by another guild doesnt seem to matter. We are also unable to end the mission early.

Thank you for the info, this is similar to one of several problems we had with Guild Race in the past.

@Chimera Tech.8624 said:We had the same issue about a month ago as well. Ticket 6869787, I sent Screenshots of the issue and never got a response. It really deterred my smaller guild from doing any missions as we still don't have an answer as to why this happened or rewards for doing so.

Yeah, the ticket we received in 2015/2016 was to post on the forums and see if anyone else had the same issue.

@aandiarie.7195 said:Is it possible enough people didn't do the rush? Like doesn't it ask for 15 people to complete in x amount of time? Then again a while back I didn't get a chest from a bug when I did mine a year ago maybe, but I don't think I have experienced it since personally.

In the video, I made, it shows we got the chest before 15 people crossed. So, you don't always need 15 people to cross to get the chest.

Sometimes you get the chest when all 15 crosses and sometimes you don't.

Sometimes you get it before 15 people cross, while others times you don't.

Not all my members are on the same server (Shouldn't be an issue with the current changes to Guilds?)I did a majority of our clears (>.> like half of the required)We did meet the minimum suggestedEveryone got 1 completion, some people did a mix of transformation and escort. I myself did 100% transformation.

Every guildie is on the same server. We got the chest before meeting the minimum requirement in that video. However, there have been several times we did more than the requirement and did not receive the chest. Everyone, has completed the race at least once in 98% of our Guild Races the past three years. There have been several guildies that would complete the race four times in the past and the rewards will still be inconsistent for them and everyone else. Sometimes, those guildies that raced multiple times would not escort anyone. Thank you for the idea about being on the same server, before HoT we had issues with that. We worked around that by using the guesting option back then (before HoT).

As I have said earlier, I have been organizing guild missions every week for over a year, and was a participator in them a long time before that, and not once have I ever encountered this glitch.

The problem seems to be solely around the way in which you are running your missions. Mainly the way that people are not transforming and actually starting the race until a few minutes after the race is started in the guilds panel. Which I assume is how the races were meant to be done as opposed to have some people not start participating in the actual race of the race until a while after it is started.

I suggest you start making everyone transform at the start of the mission and run through 2-3 checkpoints and then letting themselves die so they can respawn and then start escorting. See if that fixes your issues. This is older content and you probably won't see a bug fix for a bug that seems to be easily avoided (if the way I do things can be seen as 'avoiding' the bug)

Also, worth noting that getting participation for missions isn't for the specific mission, but for the mission slot. So if you have a guild set to PvP missions and you do all those missions you won't get credit if you do missions for another guild with PvE missions. Even though the missions are different, rewards are assigned by slot. I don't know if maybe that might be making people be confused as to why they have credit in the guild panel when they hadn't done the race before.

I responded to this suggestion earlier too, and the rewards are still inconsistent with the method you described, however ty for your feedback. In regards to older content not being patch, ArenaNet patches older content several times a year. This bug issue started to occur when Heart of Thorns was released. Therefore, I will continue to periodically report updates to this bug. I agree there maybe a time delay but I provided counter posts to your theory earlier in this thread. Where people initially transformed [team 1] at the start crossed the finish and did not receive any rewards until they reran the race. Sometimes, people would have to complete the race twice. Other times, they will get the rewards after racing 1.5 times. I'm glad you have not ran into the issues I've been describing. But as others have posted in this thread, they have experience the bug too in a variety of ways. Also, ArenaNet doesn't like their game modes to have hidden rules for receiving a reward so it is something they are interested in resolving which is why @Gaile Gray.6029 responded.

We do missions one day a week as guild, most guildies are only a member of our guild and the ones that aren't rarely do guild missions with their other guild. Yesterday, the people that did not receive rewards did not any guild missions with any other guild.

People getting the participation chest when someone crosses the finish line isn't a bug as far as I am aware. Pretty sure it was intentional.

Ah then it should be consistent for all the guild races, that would be nice.

from were i am it is looking like none of you are completing the run this is the issue you are having. Now some of you will say im crazzy but just hear me out for a bit and you see why i have stated what i have. The first vid was you helping out the team but not runing the race so you get the favor and not the reword. Videos beond that first one is you guys not completing the race this is why none of you saying its a bug are not geting the reword. Just watch the vids and you will see what i am talking about clean as crystal. It is safe to say some of you are thinking your at the end but are geting outed and are not completing the race its just looks that simple.

So to clarify my experiences with guild rushes:Everyone transforms at roughly the same time after the race has been activated in the guild panel and starts running through the checkpoints. Everyone gets through at least a couple checkpoints even if they never make it to the end. Eventually one person crosses the finish line. When one person crosses the finish line everyone who participated by transforming and getting past some checkpoints gets their chest.I am pretty sure that is the way it was intended to go.

I do not normally have people escorting those who are transformed, and when I do they always transform and get through some checkpoints first. Even when some people escort after running through some checkpoints, I can't recall any time that only some of the people who participated got their chests.

The only glitches I have noticed:1) Sometimes the participation is not awarded when the first person crosses the finish line.If we get all the required completions of the run, I can talk to the npc at the end of the race and have them end the race early. This marks the race as completed for the guild and everyone who participated gets their chests regardless of whether or not they crossed the line.Sometimes when this glitch happens it will give everyone their chests after the second or third person crosses the line. I don't know what might cause this, perhaps it doesn't register the person who crossed as repping the guild or something.

2) Sometimes the mission will instantly fail after being turned on as if someone had gone into the guild panel and clicked to cancel the mission. I am fairly sure that it's not a person manually canceling the mission, but who knows. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this.

So you all know how Guild Rush works if your new and dont under stand is simple. You need to go to the Guild Rush flag and start this part is not hard. Now you and everyone needs to get past cheackpoints witch can be a chalange but not hard. You will only get the chest when you complet the Guild Rush and when it has been completed like 50 times. This 50 times could be as simple as all 50 players doing 1 run and completing it or it could be as small as 5 players completing it 10 times. If someone is geting to the end and you are geting reverted to normal for no clear reason then that is a bug but remember thare is a time limit for Guild Rush. If you still have issue thare is nothing i can do to help you from this point on.

Sorry didn't see your message we'll try out having the escorters transform and go through one checkpoint like you did.Today we finished and the npc wouldn't let us end the mission early, because we didn't get the reward chest. We had to wait for time to run out to have the mission, when that occurred no one received their reward for finish the Bear Loop race.

@Ashantara.8731 said:The Bear Lope guild race sometimes requires you to do it twice in order to receive the personal reward, so I'd say they are definitely bugged.

We can confirm this, sometimes it requires us to complete the race twice. Today it was a hard mode mission, so several people weren't able to complete within the time so no rewards.
