Axe deal more damage than sword [PveE]

Hi, I have been trying different weapons and realise that axe actually deal more damage than sword does. Even with trait line axe seems to have better advantage with daze and more condition damage while sword only get reduced CD??? What makes sword to have better advantage so it must have a lower much lower damage than axe? CD? Teleport??

Power build, sword deals more damage. Condi builds, axe deals more damage.

Sword2 gets a blink you can use even at long range (good mobility), a Blind (not resisted by with stability), and a faster (instant?) cast.

Sword benefits from more traits, and can be used on any elite spec. Axe is locked behind Firebrand, which is mostly condi.

Axe actually has pretty decent power values as well, it's just that you have to play Firebrand to use it... And Firebrand doesn't synergize well with power playstyles.

Indeed axe does good power damage. I am hoping FB gets better optimization to support power builds in the future.
