New Class skills in Living World Season 5?

Hi,

It will be a while until we get new elite specs, so maybe we will get new skills for the core classes? Usually a skill type has 1 healing, 4 utility and 1 elite skill, but not all of the core classes skill types have these. Often 1 healing and 2 elite skills are missing. If each episode gave us 3-5 new skills all skill types would offer 1 healing, 4 utility and 1 elite skill at the end of the season. This could also be combined with reworking some skills, like engineer turrets or most thief traps.

For the interested here is a list about the missing skills for each class:

Warrior:

Healing BannerElite StanceElite Shout

Guardian:

Healing ConsecrationHealing Spirit WeaponElite ConsecrationElite Spirit Weapon

Shelter is currently without a skill type and could maybe fill the consecration spot?

Revenant:

A fourth utility skill for every legend

Ranger:

Healing SignetElite SignetElite Trap

Engineer:

Elite Gadget

Engineer has one skill type category less than other classes and has instead 5 utility skills of each type. If the engineer only gets one more skill it could seem unfair, but I don't know what else to do for the spec except completely reworking turrets to make them usable.

Thief:

Healing TrapElite TrapElite Signet

Necromancer:

Healing SpectralElite SignetElite Well

Mesmer:

Healing GlamourHealing Clone/PhantasmElite MantraElite Clone/Phantasm

Ether Feast is currently without a type. Categorizing it as Clone/Phantasm fits the skills effect probably better. Maybe even spawn a clone if no clones are active during use?

Elementalist:

Healing ConjureElite SignetElite Arcane

I think you can leave out the preamble and just offer suggestions on new skills. How ANet gets them into the game is their headache.

We don't know if that means no expansion, a delayed expansion, or ANet is going to release the same features into the game in some other fashion (and change their monetization plans to pay for it).

I completely agree.

If ArenaNet doesn't release new specializations in Season 5, they could release the "missing" skills at least. Would make the skill system a lot more consistent.

Many of the categories mentioned have a trait that feels just one skill short of being useful. Adding useful skills in these categories would make a lot of the less popular builds more common. It could also fix the problem of certain classes not having a useful elite skill for some builds. Like for example elementalist, elementalist and elementalist.
