Tinker.6924 Posted May 19, 2019 Share Posted May 19, 2019 Considering that most people think moving to DirectX 12 is not going to happen anytime soon and that's the same operating system just with different graphics engine but one related to what they currently use... can you imagine how much longer it would take them to go to a completely new os, with a completely unrelated graphics engine, and have to optimize for a completely new input controller (game controller instead of mouse+keyboard)?Both PS and xbox have unusual restrictions and requirements around online connections. Some company's that did move their "always online/connected" pc games to xbox/ps4 have opted to keep everything separate between the pc and console worlds.
