You should use it to teleport. It saves you money each time. Might as well since you already have it.

In reality it was a convenience item to keep from having to babysit the wiki timer. I feel that's more than enough reason for me to purchase.

The biggest one I regret is getting the chain-whip sword. On the one hand, I like the idea of chain swords. But the one from the gemstore is... pretty bad. First, it is constantly clacking against itself while sending out green sparks. This makes it pretty annoying. Second, it only engages the chain effect on a few select skills. This makes it look inconsistent and weird.

remember before? 1 gem equals few silver?

but hey, we go on, but we remember. we could go back and pour salt on that blunder, or we could go to tomorrow, where we can load our Consciousness inside Instances of Different MMORPG/Games and they will feel as real as we're feeling atm.. but less limitations..

A couple of the old Town Clothes, that I bought just to support Town Clothes because I wanted more, and then they ditched the entire system and made them into outfits. Now I'm stuck with a few outfits I'll never use, that just takes up place in my list (since we can't make favorites) and makes it harder to organize.

I'm completely ok with my 10x copper fed, I got a bunch of use out of them, and loved every second I didn't have to buy more basic salvage kits, same wiht my 10x endless gathering tools (and I still want another couple of sets because I'm too lazy to switch around characters).

It would have been my extra bank slot item, that I ended up buying but already having maxed out the number of bank slots I could have (at the time), and kept it in my bank for 2-3 years, but it's become a fun meme at this point.

And all the good stuff happened when it went free to play; I mean honestly though if I knew what I knew now about this game, the community and its direction Id probably of done a hard pass even though Im a Gw1 lover and Tyria lover.

Throwing a tantrum isn't going to help you.

Im not im being 100% the game isn't as good as we thought it was going to be, I was disgruntled when they made it free to play and I had bought the core version of the game. Just because you feel it's a tantrum doesn't mean none of us really needed to buy the base game, HoT was what made the game fun or at least better than it had been. But think what you want~ Not like it matters.

No. It doesn't matter. Because this is a video game, a leisure activity, an expensive toy. Nothing about this game, in the grand scheme of things, actually matters.

That's the beauty of Guild Wars 2, specifically. It doesn't
have
to matter. It doesn't insist upon itself. It doesn't try to trick you with gimmicks, or take things away just to sell them back to you. It is what it is, and that's okay. Whatever gets added or doesn't, doesn't matter. Because it's still Guild Wars 2.

Besides, nobody with this kind of passion gives up that easily. You're gonna be okay too.

I have given up, and I loved this game and the world which was my mistake. There are other games out there and my tastes, and aesthetic pleasure clearly are not welcomed here among this community which is fine. Im not the target audience, I know I will be ok because simply put I think I've outgrown this game because its not made with the kind of theme/gameplay I enjoy.

Of course its a video game but it does matter, when you love something even as basic as a game and simply know it will never add or have anything you like? Yea it kind of becomes "Well forget this then".

The Dragon's Jade Blunderbuss Skin, which I bought somewhat impulsively after discovering it's based on a real cannon! I paid a huge amount of gold compared with what it goes for nowadays - I was convinced that it had only ever been available in the original Dragon Bash, and that the price would only ever go up. A few weeks later it rotated into Black Lion Chests, and came down to about a 10th of the price...

@ragingpuma.4618 said:Yea it kind of sucks that the old unlimited use pickaxes and stuff are soulbound. Why couldn't they make those account bound also?

It's been possible to convert them to account bound since the account bound ones were introduced. You just put it in your inventory and talk to a Black Lion Weapons Specialist in the TP in LA and they swap it for the account bound version.

But that doesn't change the animation - when I swapped my Molten Alliance Pickaxe I got an identical one back, it's just the binding which has changed. So it's no help at all if I don't like the animation and want a different one.

You can transmute your pickaxe to get a different look/animation. The trade at the black lion npc is not available anymore though. Guess i am stuck with a soulbound version

Eh I was psyched for the living season 4 bl expedition and hunters contracts.

Now I realize the only relevant loot that comes from them most of the time is two map currencies and a couple bloods or claws that are rarely even t6. Pretty lackluster.

Initially I was happy to get that in game mail at reset but now I wish I had spent that over 2k gems on anything else.

Heh, as a GW1 Assassin player I still certainly feel that way. They're never gonna give me my class back, both look and feel. We're all forced to be squishy stealth pirates now instead of brawlers/martial artists/weapon masters. Daredevil at least tried though but eh. Still squishy and have non-assassin armor and lack of weapons.

This, 100%And the only decent thing to do with forge stones is make Mystic kits anyway. With the huge piles of them I have, I could easily outfit all my characters with them.I regret the Runeforger kit too, honestly. Doesn't help with getting charms, so why bother? :|

For some reason I interpreted the OPs post as being specifically about gem store items. If we're including items bought with gold then I regret when I bought The Lover.

When being the key part - I don't regret buying it because I love having The Dreamer and at the time crafting precursors wasn't an option. But I regret buying it in August 2014 when it cost almost 800g - the most expensive it's ever been. Even if I'd waited until March 2015 when I had everything else finished the price would have dropped by several hundred gold. But at the time the price had been going up pretty consistently since launch and seemed like it was just going to keep increasing (the same was true of all the other precursors as well) so I thought the sensible thing was to buy it as soon as I could.

Ahh, I see.

I tend to take each post on its own merits, but I can see how a cross thread pattern can influence reaction.

On topic:

I don't buy things unless I consider ownership (as much as that term applies in a MMO) of the thing to be more desirable than the currency used to make the purchase. So, no regrets really.

That's what I thought at first, but the OP didn't actually specify. Of course trading post transactions are quite different from gem store ones, and I don't think it would be reasonable to expect a refund from one - but I don't think anyone in this thread is actually expecting a refund anyway. Plus I actually like the fact that another player got so much gold out of it!

Yep, it's the same with me - it's the fact that I paid an unnecessarily high price, not that I bought it at all.

I had a similar situation as a seller as well: I sold a Glyph of Industry for about 300g back when they were fairly new. I couldn't really understand why anyone would pay so much for it (I hate to think how much gathering you'd have to do for it to pay for itself) and the price had been going down... but now they sell for around 600g!

Hmm... I don't think I've bought anything that I would want a refund for. Then again, I typically buy fashion related items that I tend to cycle through bi-monthly.

If we include in-game items, I guess I would refund my Shining Blade. I mean, it's okay... But it's no dreamer or exordium.
