[SPOILERS] "... not even death."

During the last mission, Aurene expresses that she and Glint thought Kralkatorrik would be terrified of a prophecy expressing his own death. But he says Elder Dragons do not fear anything, not even death. What does this mean? Was he simply displeased with having to die then? Was he actually trying to prevent it? Or was he simply being the consumer entity that all Elder Dragons are? Was he trying to imply that his end is not death? Is he saying he accepts his fate? Or is he foreshadowing Aurene's and Tyria's future?

I don't understand all the dialogue where Kralkatorrik curses out Aurene in all caps immediately followed by praising her in small caps.

What does he actually think of the prophecy???

It means what's on the tin, really. Kralkatorrik wasn't afraid of anything in his vision.

That, however, doesn't mean he didn't have another reason to act the way he did. He was being tormented by conflicting magic for eons, and we don't know how far back this goes in relation to the prophecy. My understanding was that he detested mortals for some reason - as, even if he did not fear a world without him, he apparently did not like a world where dragons and mortals co-existed in peace. If this is the case, we have nothing to suggest why he hated mortals though. But it was evident that he loved his family, despite all his evil. And his hatred of mortals is likely what drove him to first consume conflicting magic, leading to the modern day situation.

The all caps stuff was Kralkatorrik's Torment, a kind of split personality that had formed from consuming conflicting types of magics for eons and eons that had made Kralkatorrik suffer constant agony, driving him insane and leading him to seek to consume or destroy everything in existence in an attempt to ease the pain caused him.

It came across to me as being that the dragons (elder or not) simply viewed themselves as being above mortals and that mortals weren't even worth the attention or effort to interact with them. I recall a line about how Glint (after being freed from kralk's control) took a while to side with mortals, only after seeing their suffering for a long while and that caused her to act. Kralkatorrik probably hated mortals as much as we hate pests in real life. Also of course, the fact he was going insane/crazy over time. The commander started going insane after interacting too much with ley-line magics (The whole "Sad anomaly" thing) and the one mastery blurb indicates we can interact with volatile magic because Aurene, and that it's dangerous normally to mess with (And we see that magic interacting with oil near Thunderhead and spawning a massive, destructive oil elemental/ooze creature.)

In the final fight Kralk's torment mentions about how Aurene "betrays her kind!" and Kralk responds "She is the first of her kind." And that's true, Aurene is child of Glint who was raised while interacting with the "mortals" heavily, growing to love and be loved by them.

Another aspect concerning visions is that perhaps he knew it'd come to pass anyway, and took steps to ensure it happened. We saw this with Glint (hiding a few parts of the flameseeker prophecies, causing the Undead Lich to try to complete the released sections and at the end, die and seal the titan's portal for good), and then later on when we even saw Aurene's vision which did come true entirely, but left out/wasn't shown that she could return from those fatal injuries.

Imo, Kralk was referencing something special about dragon/Elder Dragon afterlife, something Aurene learned when she died. If I remember correctly, he says something to the effect that dragons don't fear death and Aurene now knows why.

If Tyria includes access to the afterlife and Tyria is held together or infused with physco-reactive magic and Elder Dragons provide the will then there is something special about dragon afterlife.

It's just another one of many wrong assumptions of Glint.

And a small note: So when Kralkatorrik said he wasn't afraid to die, because he controlled the power of nature, his magic itself was a part of Tyria.

Glint was afraid of death, unlike Aurene, Glint couldn't see beyond, Glint didn't feel Kralkatorrik's "million agonies" as Aurene did. What Glint did know, and it's a nice touch from the book, that the spear must pierce Kralkatorrik's heart.

Glint thought it could be done from the outside, because she couldn't even see such a possibility to enter Kralkatorrik, she was afraid of what she could find inside, that's why Aurene has always been more than Glint, Vlast and Kralkatorrik, she looked beyond.

To see beyond is to truely see, as Aurene showed. So if you think about War Eternal, it's actually quite deep.
