Game turns black when I defeat Kralk in the instance. Cannot advance through story to get skyscale.

I've been stuck on this quest for weeks. It blacks out right when I defeat Kralk in the instance. I have waited 20m+ but it stays black. I've tried multiple times but it always goes black. I can't get started on the skyscale or progress at all.

You can try a -repair of the client.You can try a VPN.

This is a bug when you do the instance with another player, you have to do it solo.

If its still doing it solo,:

• Lower your settings all the way (most of the time stuff like this is a bugged shader).
• Try a different computer, especially a laptop.
• Try a different Internet connection.
• Try different graphics drivers.
• Try repairing your game (launching it with the "-repair" command line option).
• If no luck then submit a support ticket, they'll check that you got close and clear it for you (usually).

Also, when I got this to happen to me, both times, it still saved my progress, and I was able to re-enter at the airship phase afterwards, as it seems to have some checkpoints in there somewhere. Try resuming from Lion's Arch.

A cinematic plays after that, which your computer might be stalling on.
