Overwhelmed with skills/Keys, Please Help!
Sephylon.4938 replied to PowderedToastMan.6354's topic in Players Helping Players
wasn't this in the gw2 discussion section? Am I loosing it? -
Then get other like minded people and go with them. Pug groups aren't yours, they set their rules and you either follow them or make your own. Join a guild, get friends, find other people that think like you and go with them. Getting in the raid isn't hard, finishing it is. And people would like the highest chance of success. Off shoot builds generally have lower chances of success due to lower dps and lower group synergies. I believe a dev said that the dps of an average player is 4 or 500% lower than the top dps. Someone please correct me on this if I'm misremembering.

Help picking a Sword wielding bruiser profession
Sephylon.4938 replied to Kolzar.9567's topic in Professions
Mesmer is burst or blink away and burst later, guardi is necro baby sitter, war is bunker and counter burst. Other professions that use 1h sword are thief which is like mes ie burst or run, engi holo which is burst and bunker down to reburst, and ranger with sb which is burst with gs, swap to sword evade, then return to gs to burst again.EditForgot weaver, but I'm not sure if any1 plays then in pvp. I've met a few of them in wvw and they're just annoying to deal with to say the least. (Atleast the good ones are). They can heal back up to full almost instantly, while evading, if you don't 100-0 them, and they have a nasty combo that can kill you if caught off guard. Not sure if its possible to do that in pvp since certain stat combos and runes aren't there. -
Adding to the above, have endurance regen food. Adventurer runes also help to keep your endurance up for dodges. Otherwise leap or blast finisher+smoke field=stealth

Detailed "per-level" Build Guide for Necro - Minion Master
Sephylon.4938 replied to Baregon Iam.2716's topic in Necromancer
Doesn't really matter, core tyria mobs will drop dead no matter what traits/weapons you have. Just keep your gear level appropriate. Also you get enough points to fully unlock core by getting to 80, any hero point you get from the maps is already icing on the cake. -
Finally got him to glow a dye-able w/o ice encasement outfit.

Not really, full exotics is fine for raids. You only go asc with infusions if you want to min-max it. Raids have been done in full greens too. I understand it can be done with lesser gear but finding a group that would accept a newbie without the top gear is going to be tougher than with the gear. That's why I'm recommending a chance for a newbie to walk into a different instance with the same raid content difficulty and be allowed to borrow a proper gear and build set to see if they can understand the raid well enough before going on to look for a raid group or get the gear to become a better group member. Not really, you can raid with exotics and noone would notice, IF people practise their rotation at the golem and fractals before. Rotation is so much more important than going to asc, so much that a full asc player can be outdpsed by someone in full green if the one in asc gear has never at least checked if the stuff he is doing is good, which you can only know by compare your dps with others, being on bosses or golem. this screams we should just have a 3rd party program run rotations for us.. maybe add that to ArcDPS. nah Eh.. why not! Why not just put a "Optimal DPS" button/setting in ArcDPS, and it sets you up with the Meta Abilities, and runs the rotations for you. Not like we all wouldn't use this anyway, and it would make it a heck of a lot easier on anyone that wants to just get things done. Maybe also have a built in DPS meter for you that calculates your gear/stats to tell you what your optimal DPS output would be with what you have, and give you a list of what you need to acquire/replace. Not like we are going to buck the norm, so may as well just make it easy to get it done and over with. Or why play the game at all. Let's just put everything on autopathing. Oh let's not get all melodramatic. Not really, full exotics is fine for raids. You only go asc with infusions if you want to min-max it. Raids have been done in full greens too. Especially on ele, when the script says its time for you to do meteor, in the middle of gors retal or sab flame wall, you'd get screwed over. As for the later, that's what sc/qt/benchmark guilds are for Yah.. but it could still be applied to thieves, warriors, and other basic DPS classes. and golems are there for DPS meters, yet we have 3rd party software to help us.. this is the same thing. Yeah but if we put it for 1, the others will cry for it as well So.. what is the problem here again?people think pie>cake
