  1. This needs to be a thing. It would be a great way to maintain the WvW population, too.
  2. Instead of the pulsing/flip over effect, just make it a buff that you get similar to Thief poisons or Ashes of the Just. Whenever you proc Zealot's Fire, you get three stacks of burning that will apply on your next attack. Similar interaction when you proc it through the trait, it just adds an extra three stacks. It would make it feel good when you're not on Torch.
  3. It would be nice if these PBAOE Arrows refreshed Mechanical Genius while on Mechanist.
  4. No. You're wrong, again. My argument is when @Loke.1429 stated that it's an absurdity that Advancing Strike goes against some 2020 balance philosophy because "cc" skills had their damage significantly reduced (down to sub-10 damage because control effects disable the player character). I stated that is actually a consistency because immobilization is a condition, not a control effect. This post, in fact, adds nothing to this discussion whereas the other posts just calls out a select few who are complaining about being able to /just dodge/ and poor balance when they just simply don't understand prior philosophies or think their perception is the only way.
  5. Nah, it's under "similar." And it literally states it is a condition that has some control. "Some conditions will deal damage to enemy Defiance bar without being considered a disabling mechanic (particularly for purposes of various traits, as well as Stability as their counter). These conditions are often referred to "soft CC"." https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Immobile Immobile is a condition that prevents movement, turning, and dodging.

  7. Oh, since you're obviously an Ele "main," here's a cool screenshot in a WvW environment (Armistice Bastion) testing out a pure power dagger/dagger build for roaming. If you don't bother opening up the link because it doesn't fit your narrative -- I'll put the highlight here. Burning Speed, a movement skill, doing 17K crits WITH AN UNBLOCKABLE utility (Augment Fire)!!!!!! This screenshot doesn't even show the other big hits, like Fire Grab hitting for 10k+ (it just had a normal hit in that screenshot for almost 6k LOL), Convergence hitting for 7K+. We can go on. But let's just start with facts instead of inaccuracies to fit your bias. Your unfound hatred still doesn't change the fact that the lead balance dev mains your class.
  8. Immobilize is not a control effect. It is a condition. It's not a bias departure like this very unsound point you're trying to make. In fact, it's a consistency because it is a condition. If Advancing Strike did a knockdown, then yes, it should do damage like other control skills in the game and should be nerfed based off that balance philosophy almost four years ago. But alas, it does NOT and here is another poorly articulated atypical "I hate blue class" post. Onto the next!
  9. LOL. Calls me clueless and then compares a weapon skill to a utility skill.
  10. If you two honestly believe this, it may actually be the most astonishing thing I've read on these forums. Judge's Intervention is a core skill. Nature's Traversal is not. Concurrently, Nature's Traversal is MUCH better and than Judge's Intervention. Your "balance" suggestions are nonsensical. They won't fix your inability to dodge one of the most telegraphed professions in the game.
  11. move symbol off the autoattack; going to be a clown weapon until this is done.
  12. Can we just stop with the guardian hammer cast time reductions and just move the symbol off the autoattack?
  13. We still have forum-goers who think Hammer is a good weapon. They think the AA chain is unique and good, despite it being a very outdated, highly counter-able weapon. I empathize with you.
  14. Trust me man, I'm on your side. I agree with everything. I've never been a proponent of ZD or skills that root you (take a look at my post history). I don't think it sucks, it's just outclassed by the majority of the roaming classes out there.
  15. You're not wrong. However, I probably wouldn't use the word 'sucks,' but maybe 'often outclassed' would be a better description. The lack of these things really does cripple it at times. If they're not willing to add any of these, then Restorative Virtues needs to become baseline baked into the Willbender Flames then it'll allow for more creative master traits for the now Restorative Virtues and Holy Reckoning.
  16. I am unable to type my password or the authenticator number when signing into my account. It gives a log in failure code. The only workaround that I have found that works is typing your password in a note pad, copying it, pasting it in the launcher, and doing that the same way for your authenticator code.
  17. Still grey. Your point as a TL;DR: just because Hammer on Warrior was not reworked, Guardian hammer should not be fixed into a competitive option for DPS builds? Also, in PvE, Hammer/kitten SPB is around 40k whereas the Greatsword is around 39k. Greatsword has a lot less CC than your point above but the difference is really negligible in any real PvE environment. But guess what, warrior has that choice to bring hammer or greatsword. GUARDIAN. DOES. NOT. Moreover, you've pointed out how a specific warrior operates a lot differently than guardian, where they rely heavily on CC to maintain damage coefficients. If you play guardian, you would know how heavily Guardian relies on symbol uptime and virtue proccing to maintain DPS. If you integrate the CC in a rotation on Guardian Hammer, you LOSE DPS where this is not the case with your point above. This is why symbol on Hammer AA is so terrible and desperately needs to be changed. You literally have to autoattack to maintain damage and if you don't, your damage suffers. It's becoming very odd that you fail to see that point. Moving it off auto-attack won't change this weird fallacy you all have about "identity," it would just improve it to make it actually competitive as ArenaNet intended (and subsequently, failed) on the August 2022 balance pass. It's mind boggling that you all just cling to something so bad and then make tangential points of "oh but this class" or "my autoattacks because this is a support weapon for some hero point build I run in eight year old content!" You aren't providing any substance on how to make this weapon better, which makes me wonder if posters in this thread actually have time spent more than twenty hours of endgame PvE on DPS guardian.
  18. Your poor choice of wording or semantics still doesn't make hammer do this. Firebrand may do this, but hammer does not.
  19. The point you're trying to make is really grey. Hammer is seeing relevancy on Warrior because of its power coefficient buffs and the change to the increase damage now affecting defiant foes in November (Merciless Hammer in Defense, a core traitline, included). Spellbreaker really does not have more +damage modifiers than DH or even WB.
  20. Your words not mine. Hammer does not do this.
  21. Maybe you're hellbent on your own biases while refusing to realistically see things while you post things that are just wrong? (reminder: you still think hammer gives all boons, conditions, AND DAMAGE needed). Also, very much casual who plays solo. I think the difference between you and I, is that I actually play Guardian. Here, let me make it a little easier for you and use ArenaNet's words when they tried to "balance" hammer. Please pay attention to the following context clues: "hammer improvements," and "close the gap between it and OTHER DAMAGING weapons." August 23, 2022 patch notes from ArenaNet:"The greatsword damage increases benefit Dragonhunter builds, and hammer improvements will help close the gap between it and other damaging weapons while living up to that weighty feel a hammer should have." Except these did not help at all, it actually kept the weapon in the same state because you're forced to auto-attack for the symbol. Why are you so focused on a traitline? Your argument would be much better if you just left hammer out of the equation and just said "Honor is a SUPPORT traitline." If I took your argument of Hammer is support because we have Writ of Persistence, then that sort of argument would hold true for ever other weapon guardian has. Sword would be a support weapon with Writ of Persistence. Greatsword would be a support weapon with Writ of Persistence. Axe would be a support weapon with Writ of Persistence. Longbow would be a support weapon with Writ of Persistence (Ooh, this one has just as much CC as Hammer, must be a support weapon!). Should I go on?
  22. But it wouldn't make it unusable. This is where you don't understand and are very mistaken. You fail to understand why hammer lags behind and isn't competitive in comparison to any other guardian weapon. It's because of the AA being attached to the symbol. Here is what I posted well over four months ago. Now, detach symbol and put it to the end of hammer 2 (Mighty Blow). In my post above, you would obviously balance the symbol to match the cooldown of Mighty Blow (like I stated in my post), this would keep DPS the same. This wouldn't change ANYTHING you guys claim on this forum (especially this garbage you wrote: "That weapon is mainly used in solo and random party PvE builds (and sometimes in WvW) because it can provide all boons, conditions and damage needed." If you truly believe it provides all boons, conditions, and damage -- wouldn't you think this post would not exist and that every single person in the game would be playing hammer guardian?). Detaching the symbol from AA would allow you to further tweak the AA and integrate the skills they buffed in August 2022, making the weapon a much more competitive choice. If you're talking about PvP/WvW, it would make the weapon better because you're never just autoattacking to get symbols off. It would make the burst MUCH better. Also, you would never run Writ of Persistence in any DPS build. Your post is riddled with insane inaccuracies.
  23. Then get ready to accept it as never being a truly viable weapon. Having weapons just fill rare niches, like you've detailed, is so antithetical to this game's balance philosophy. Subsequently, no other guardian weapon functions like this. There is a reason why the most recent "buffs" on 8/23/2022, weren't actually buffs in PvE when they were trying to "help close the gap between it and other damaging weapons." This also debunks this fallacy of this weapon being lumped in the "support category." The reason being that Guardian has too many modifiers that are contingent upon symbol uptime thus meaning it is not worth weaving those skills because it prevents symbol uptime. Removing the symbol from the AA and then attaching it to the end of Hammer 2 and balancing the damage of the symbol and to last three to four seconds, will not take away this far cry that people have whilst assuming this is some "support" weapon (it's 2023, this isn't a support weapon, maybe it was six years ago when the protection uptime was marginally attractive for fractals or some other instanced content). It would substantially improve this weapon and it would be such an easy fix.
  24. I agree with your Battle Presence change. This is terrible design. It's been an issue since they did the livestream for EOD specs last year. If alacrity WB is ever moved out of a meme-tier support, you cannot have an elite specialization boon distribution tied to a completely different specialization (Virtues). No other profession has to deal with this. But, this, is a horrible idea/suggestion because it has implications for the ENTIRE specialization. We're currently dealing where one build (condi WB) truly benefits from these two modifiers. Buffing or nerfing these two will only make things worse. The recent pass where they buffed Lethal Tempo and Tyrant's Momentum was much more of a buff for the condi variant than it was for power. Power DPS Willbender needs the following things to have it introduced to be competitive in the current PvE meta: Offhand sword needs to be substantially buffed and dual attacks while using an offhand sword only needs to be implemented. Holy Reckoning needs to be reworked to better support power builds. This needs to reduce the CD of Rushing Justice or extend the Justice buff by four seconds (or you can just remove the penalty on Tyrant's Momentum, you already are forced to take this as a power/condi WB). You simply cannot maintain Rushing Justice consistently when you run Radiance/Zeal. Anything that positively improves power damage in this trait would be monumentally better. Power WB builds should not rely on Restorative Virtues like it does now. The buff to Heaven's Palm was not enough. The power coefficient needs to be improved. The cast time needs to be reduced and extend whatever virtue effect you're currently using to continually proc WB flames. Willbender Flames need higher power damage coefficient tweaking. This can be done through Power for Power.
  25. Still a poor argument, almost as poor as saying "no other class should have Guardian's Aegis because it's a Guardian mechanic" or "thief should not get shroud because that's a necromancer mechanic" but yet -- current design standards clearly are giving mechanics of professions to others. How about this. Instead of making overly jejune comments on a forum -- why don't you provide substance to the thread you are posting in? As a reminder, this thread (the one you are in now) is about how one would fix power Willbender to be competitive in a PvE meta (or any other mode). How would you do that without power creeping condi Willbender?
