I've been wearing the same exotic gear for months. And not gotten any ascended gear. I know you can make some via crafting but it cost a ton of gold just for 1 piece. Is there an easier way to acquire ascended gear or am i just stuck in exotic?

So i am not a scourge expert by any means. The only thing i know is that they are a support class that supports with barriers, but i feel like there is more to it than that. i know that healing power boosts the power of the shield and i have been slotting gear with mostly that, but is there anything else i should be doing besides just shielding allies? And i speak in terms of doing dungeons and in open world PVE (if they are viable in that aspect)

So i tried to get one of my buddies to play GW2 but he only likes playing as a tank. He wants to be a warrior or a guardian and I tried to explain to him the how the threat system in this game is very different from wow and other mmos with a similar threat table and that playing either of those two wouldn't really work so good. I told him about the Chronmancer, but he doesn't like the concept of a "mage tank". Can someone here explain the aggro system in better detail so i can show him?

So as the title suggests i am completely new to the necromancer profession and i have a few questions about it and the elite professions: 1..I see that the necromancer heavily focuses on conditions so should i build pure conditions ? I know they also summon minions to fight, but their damage looks pretty poor. Is there more to them? 2. About the reaper, i read that it's a pure DPS profession and pretty powerful. How does it fair today and compare to other professions? 3. Does the Scourge profession focus more on support or can it do damage as well? 4. I don't have EOD. But i'd like to hear about the Harbinger too. I don't know if race really matters, but i was looking to make a Norn Necro. But if there is a better race, then I'd like to hear it.

But there are stats the benefits professions/elite specializations more that dungeon gear doesn't have.

That's one of my biggest gripes with this game. If your profession and build isn't meta then you don't get to raid Other mmos: All classes can raid as long as you're well geared, have good dps/heals. GW2: Can only raid if your class and build are part of the meta.

I love this game, but the main thing that always had me stumped was getting better gear once you hit lvl 80. I have a Mirage covered in dungeon gear that i bought with dungeon tokens, but i learned that Mirages should have viper gear mainly for the condition damage and expertise. The only issue is that i have no clue on how to get viper gear at all. I feel like a total noob running around in dungeon gear when there is much better gear that benefits my profession. If anyone here can give some advice I'd appreciate it.

So i am almost lvl 80 and i plan on being a Holosmith. What build would you recommend for a beginner?

I don't know if this is the appropriate place to to post this. But one day i was doing a CoF run on one of the paths and one of the players in our group was being very rude and toxic to me after we wiped one time. After the run i told him in ingame mail that i didn't appreciate his toxicity towards me and that i was gonna report him for his actions. After i told him this he replied with he did "nothing wrong" and calling me "snowflake" ect. I stopped playing for about a month because i was gettting burnt out. I come back online after being gone for a month, and lo and behold my mailbox is filled with him trying to act all buddy buddy now. Because he's scared now. He even sent me a message while i was playing wondering why i am not responding to him. He talks crap to me and then he expects me to be his friend because he's scared of getting banned.i reported him yet he still sends me messages.
