  1. Is an alliance just a server who's member base is managed by players?
  2. I saw something mentioned in the latest news about changes to wvw. Is this going to make it playable for Crystal Desert? My main issue with wvw is that it has always been incompatible with new friends joining the game and guildmates. Everyone always ends up on different servers and guesting stops others or yourself from getting rewards or progress. This coupled with the fact that the maximum number of players on my side on the map typically doesn't go beyond 10... makes it pretty boring. There is the server change option, but that means convincing everyone to buy it and dealing with the issue that everyone heading to the same 'active' server is likely to fill it up and keep half the people from joining. Would love a WORLD war, but it looks more like people throwing pebbles at each other from really big stand castles right now. If this is going to change and get better, I want to know so that I can get excited and in on the action.
  3. That is painful to read. Does Anet really make changes to what's being sold everyday for there to be daily posts?
  4. This skimmer skin is probably the last cosmetic item I want to buy on the TP since sea turtles are awesome. I play Sylvari so don't get into the cosmetic items that aren't related to plants. Does anyone have any idea when it might be appearing? Showed up Feb 2021 and August 2020. With as long as I've been playing, its hard to be active at the right time and place to get it for those 2 weeks when it becomes available. I could go black lion keys, but don't like my odds and doubt I'd get it within a hundred tries.
  5. I'm trying to buy some items on the Black Lion Trading. Are there days where prices are lower from having less people to sell to and higher because more people are buying? When are good days to go looking for something to buy? And what are good days to already have something up and ready to be sold? I might figure it out eventually but I don't do a lot of volume to really see it, nor do I know any tools to watch it from a 3rd party.
  6. Atm, a Berserker sword shield + sword shield is serving me well. Its a lot of cleanse, condition reduction, high in health, and can stun to close distance and stop big attacks. It is making the fights last longer, and it takes the pressure off my team mates since I can tank 2-3 players for minutes without dying. That lack of pressure means they can keep attacking without as much fear of dying and that makes them a lot more effective. I get a lot more out of my teammates when I'm the one dealing with a lot of the incoming damage. And as a bonus, you seem to only need to get a couple of bleeds and burns to kill a player. The main drawback of this build is targeting. Since I'm constantly fighting multiple players, I tend to hit the wrong target with all the clutter. Its especially bad with the burst skill that is pretty nice but long. I switch targets fast to keep players from getting momentum and the burst skill tends to activate on my last target instead of the player I'm targeting now. Really makes me feel the limits of tab targeting and action camera combat when skills activate on the wrong players.
  7. I don't think that's reasonably feasible. It would be fun to do once in awhile but its hard to pull together 10 of the right people without compensating them for their time with loot. Someone is always loosing in that scenario and it builds the wrong platform for cooperation in my mind. The trainee is eager to stop being a burden on the 9 mentor's time and the mentor's are volunteering their time on their own dime. The fastest way out of being a burden in that situation is to not pvp, learn nothing, and go back to pve with everyone where you all get rewards. You've really got to like the person to do something like that and then how much of your time are you going to dedicate to such operations? Friendships have limits and you've got to respect the fact that everyone wants to have fun with it not being at the cost of other people's fun.
  8. Was hoping to get some advice in putting together a build specialized in survival. From what I have seen, the elixir/grenade holosmith and shatter chronomancer are the two biggest threats atm. I would be focusing on them for any theory crafting. I'm trying to draw out my pvp to be more like a brawl then its current cowboy shoot-em-fast that it seems to always be. Any builds and/or classes people would suggest would be appreciated. I would ask to avoid invulnerability solutions though since they tend to have very long cooldowns which make them impractical in the course of an entire match.. PS. Short fights kinda suck for people new to pvp. The lack of longer engagements stunts the growth of their competitive minds. People learn in an engagement once they have a choice, as it is those choices that develop their ability to respond to and recognize a threat. In the current model, they fight and die almost immediately and that simply repeats the lesson of first strike, which is useless without the knowledge of how a fight will evolve, and nothing else. I'm hoping that if I do manage to create what I'm intending, that I can give it to others as a way to help them learn how to better pvp. Being able to get more of my friends involved with pvp would be a great thing.
  9. I know you can auto-loot fallen enemies with a mastery, but is there a way to do so for gathering? There is a lot of clicking involved when I mine a node since I have the leather glyph. I've got the ore, the leather, and at times other drops... So just wondering if there is a way to stop or limit the clicking involved? Like, the resources always show up in the same location on the screen, so there's repetition there for a bot to cling on to if that was the design intent. Doesn't really make design sense to keep having the players click things to pick them up, so my thinking is that there is something out there that I wasn't aware of to do so?
