  2. Huh? 9 pm is two hours after reset and usually the most active time of the whole matchup. I'm talking EU servers.

  4. What happend to this game mode? Haven't been active recently and decided to check out relink+reset evening and it's like 21:00, no que on any map, no leads, ebg has like 10 people and my friendlist is a wasteland. Could we maybe adress boonspam or something... people are kittening running.
  5. Why strow man again? Nobody claimes you could slap cele on every build in every scenario and and be OP. And for reasons that have been explained over and over you can not take zerg builds as a metric to measure balance of problamatic small scale interactions. Especially when you make statements like "there are plenty of non cele roaming builds, so cele cant be the problem" what ever that is supposed to proof. I mean yeah sure, they all suck compared to good cele builds but they do exist. I dont what to be ignorant or something but what you wrote here has nothing to do with the things i said. And even the things you are arguing here about are not controversial for the most part. Just a few post before i said that cele is not the root cause of problems but a more realistic balance approach than altering skills/traits of every spec to give them access to the right amount of boon rip to battle the spam given the limited resources Anet uses on this matter. Zyreva has been saying exactly that for years.
  6. There are very few niche situations where non cele builds work in roaming that have nothing to do with the way stats are distributed. When a matchup/encounter favors you so much that defense stats become just irrelevant. In every other situation you are not playing an optimal build if you are not playing a cele build. Maybe my english is to bad to get the meaning of unrelated but in my understanding the exact opposite is true. I think most people here understand that it only makes sense to compare optimal cele vs optimal x builds. Why would you compare bad builds to good ones as baseline to analyse balance of different stat distributions?
  7. No offense but this has weird straw man vibes. I mean nobody claimed stats would work different on a mechanical level. They just dont exist in a vacuum and are affected by many modifiers that are heavily dependent on the mode/playstyle. There are ways to reduce the value of a stat like condition duration in zerg play that simply dont exist in a 1v1 scenario for example. So the stat doesnt need to magicaly work differnt to lose all its viability in another game environment.
  8. I dont understand how those statements are not contradicting. Of cause stat distribution affects different modes/playstyles in a separat way and must be discussed in the context of its environment.
  9. Dude why do you spam this topic if you dont even small scale? Cele has no impact on your game experience with or without the buff...
  10. Both imo. If you reduce power coefficients and output in general, you also nerf pure power based gear and buff condi/hybrid based builds indirectly.
  11. The Cele buff took place around the same time of the big balance overhault that nerfed power coefficients across the board and detached damage from CC skills. That was supposed to lay the foundation for follow up balancing but that never happend and left many cc heavy builds and traits unplayable. This is what made good cele builds unkillable. I was playing core dd ele at the time with some cele gear in the mix for the lulz and it sucked until the patch. Suddenly i was deleting people in non cele gear left and right. What i dont understand is, you are here long enough to know how Anet handles the game, this mode and balance in particular and still propose to adress every skill of all the specs separately to solve the issue of one clearly broken set in this environment. Its just delusional. Sorry not gonna happen. Reverting the cele buff and look from here is a realistic option here tho.
  12. I mean yeah, but a 760 damage arcing slice in full bersi gear without having any weakness on him or anything shows pretty clear whats wrong with balance atm. Its not like other cele builds arent stacking perma prot + reduction traits + food.
  13. I mean if you are a new player and want to use it that way go for it but it has become the agreed up on sign for duels among roamers over the years in impromptu encounters everywhere on the map.

  16. Ye true, d/d celementalist was a too strong duelant at that time but wasn't impacting the scene in a way that later broken builds arguably did in my memory and wasn't really shutting down stuff. So most professions had viable power and condi roaming builds to some extend.
  17. The period between the trait system overhaul to three lines and HoT release was peak roaming imo. Shortly before the elite spec fiesta hit, when even GvG meta was running a dedicated focus party instead of one big boonball.
  18. As i said it creates a fairly homogeneous space to test the impact of builds, stats, traits etc. on the outcome of fights what you claimed to be impossible. It's absoIutely fine if you think dueling/structured small scale is a waste of time and map space, to each their own. But i don't understand what you base your opinion on so confidently in that topic when you clearly have zero practical knowledge in that regard. Im sorry but to think cele would lose viability in higher levels of play just shows your lack of experience there.

I know it's a hard concept to grasp for you and most folks in this thread whose wvw experience consists mostly of random dodging across borders on their condi builds and fighting random people on pve/zerg builds but there are people in this game with 10k+ hours of mainly dueling and they tend to know each other. When you duel the same person over and over on different builds and specs over years you can assess their skill and what impact various changes have.
  20. Not the answer i hoped for but ok i did that. Some offhand dagger QoL changes and cd reduction to compensate for trait removal. Still no idea what core build is S-Tier with that tbh.
  21. I think the root cause lays rather in the fundamental change of core concepts from having no designated roles and avoiding the trinity, to then pushing specs to be tank/heal/sup all at once. This way you get the boon vomiting abdominations with massive sustain that are temp/FB etc. But lets face it, we wont even get half frequent balance patches that adress individual skill/trait performance in a consistent manner to shape fights in small scale combat. Which is sad because here shines the gw2 combat system the most. Imo a number tweak on cele is a realistic scenario that could help a lot. Also i dont get the point of trying hard to come up with a bad cele build. Cause you can, arguably harder than with other sets tho. Changes nothing about good cele builds out performing everything else.
  22. Indeed. I loled at this too. Under this premise any balance discussion becomes obsolete. When your goal are builds that are able to brute force 1v5 anything goes.
  23. The funny thing is that pretty much the opposite is very well established at this point. Look at the history of this game and the fact that heavy sustain gear was banned in every single semi official 1v1 tournament and cele will of cause be banned in the upcomming MFC. The only value threads like this provide is bad players outing themselves which i find kinda entertaining tbh.
