  3. I think that this is exactly how these types of sales work, the motivation & the method / constraints. What I don't understand though, is why not use all of Amazon's resources, e.g. Amazon.ca for Canadians? I now know that there are some tough restrictions for Amazon in India, but as far as I can tell, none exist in Canada. I'm wondering about other regions like Australia, which is also barred from participating. We have our own taxation systems & are taxed accordingly on our own Amazon sites, so I don't think it can have anything to do with that. We have laws governing gam
  4. Re: my workaround suggestion. Please note that I don't recommend that anyone try this. I tried just now to purchase the game from Amazon.com & as usual, there was the following disclaimer: "This product is non-returnable and non-refundable. Note: Currently, this item is available only to customers located in the United States." I'm guessing that these codes are flagged in some way to confirm the region where they're eventually used. So even if you could obtain a code though a favourite ArenaNet Partner / Streamer, you wouldn't be able to use it, unless you lived in t
  5. I've never been able to buy anything from Amazon.com. I tried again just now, but as in the past, there is always the disclaimer that the item is not available outside of the US. https://imgur.com/y5fuWle
  6. I'm not a member of Amazon Prime but a family member is, so I was able to obtain codes from him. Sorry to hear that you missed out on those. Re: DLGamer, I wondered about that as well because normally, they offer discounts pretty regularly. Interestingly, shortly after the announcement of EoD, they had a full page devoted to it, including a countdown timer to the release date. Sometime within the last two weeks they took that page down, although they're still affiliated with NCSoft so...?
  7. Yeah I understand & can appreciate that, but in the case of Amazon as a retailer, I imagine most regions are unrestricted, including Canada for example. I'm not daring enough to give it a shot tomorrow, but if someone else does try, would be neat to know the result. Or if a Partner can advise what, if any, information they have re: the regions that they are allowed to honour, then that would be great.
  8. As a community, it's a really nice option to be able to support favourite Partners / Streamers, by using one of their links when making a purchase. Beginning November 26 until December 31, you can get 50% off when you purchase Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire™ from one of these participating retailers. Unfortunately, some of us live in regions not represented in that list. I know that many Partners have links to buying the game, so I'm wondering if a possible workaround might be, to make that 50% off purchase using an ArenaNet Partner link? If so, then are we given a code that
  9. During the GW2's stream yesterday, Rubi specifically referred to this list of retailers. So judging from that list, while it's available from many outlets, the expansion won't be available from the ArenaNet website. There are good deals listed on some QoL items available in the Gem Store, but no mention of a game upgrade there either. So if your region isn't mentioned in that list, then I think you're out of luck this time around.
  10. On the first reveal of the siege turtle, I wondered if it would be used primarily for both aerial & underwater combat. Because of the positioning of the cannons, I imagined you could maneuver under an enemy skiff, ship, any type of convoy, or threat, like a DRAGON... to blast them to smithereens! I imagined using it against an oversized flying mob, like a flock of screeching harpies, or a DRAGON... to do massive damage, blasting them out of the sky, especially effective if used in teams, maybe even with some special synergy between them. Although nothing like that was hinted at
  11. Gems aside, I imagine that any free to play players, considering buying the game, would take advantage of the 50% off sale price on Path of Fire, with all that it includes. And I bet that once they'd experienced more of what the game has to offer, many of them would want to invest in End of Dragons as well. Also, even though I'm Canadian, I was able to take advantage of some Guild Wars 2 promotions offered through Amazon Prime, so I'm surprised that this promotion isn't available via the regular Amazon site. For sure it's a real missed opportunity for ArenaNet, especially given that
  12. And they did it! Over 500K done & dusted!! Made Rubi cry with emotion & fatigue! Kudos to all who participated & donated. Team Arena Net is in 2nd place of hundreds of teams involved. What Is Extra Life? | Extra Life (extra-life.org) Proud to be a member of this great community. ❤️
  13. GuildWars2 - Twitch Over 90K has been donated, very close to the all time 500K all time donation mark. Lots of fun watching James play without a keyboard. No idea what it will be like now. 😛
  14. Thank you for taking the time to humour my point. No, I was not aware of the hierarchy of disagreement pyramid. As I was responding to @Gibson.4036, in support of my response to him, I quoted some of your categorical statements as examples, which I see falls under #5 of your referenced pyramid. While your topic was, "How i took the largest hit to my opinion about the game...", judging from your statements, I genuinely felt that it devolved to your opinion about the developers. In fact, that is what prompted my summary, "Clearly the OP feels that he's been intentionally dup
  15. It's not that these discussions are moot, but the OP doesn't do himself any favours by slandering the entity he's trying to engage with, not a useful method to encourage any discussion. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aerensiniac.3584 "You are more than just inept if you put "achievements" in your game which fulfill the exact opposite purpose of the word and take from the players while at the same time make them feel utterly stupid. It's probably closer to intentionally being destructive towards the game and your player
