  1. As paid accounts are entitled to one free region transfer, I recently transferred an NA region account to an EU region at no cost. It was seamless, no problems at all. Sorry, just realized that the account a/m was a free account I'd created years ago & upgraded to a paid account years ago as well... so only entitled to the free transfer because of that upgrade. I'll take that confused emoji, I deserve it!! 😕
  2. I've never used ArcDPS, but just in case you are, then this might apply to your situation, if none of Healix's suggestions work for you. Arena has a dedicated page with other options here: Repairing the Game Client – Guild Wars 2 Support Removing ArcDPS# After Guild Wars 2 updates, ArcDPS may start crashing the game. Remove ArcDPS until a new ArcDPS update is released. Open the installation folder for Guild Wars 2. It’s usually something like “C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2”. Open the “bin64” folder. Delete d3d11.dll. Alternatively, disable ArcDPS by renaming it to “d3d11.dll.bak”. Undo the name change to enable it again.
  3. To inspire you to dance irl everyday, try some of these moves, or at least bop around in your chair...
  4. Memories... not that I was there mind. 😋 Make sure that you dance irl everyday.
  5. I also received the exact same email on several accounts, found in spam & mailed on different dates, so they're rolling out the emails gradually. The EULA update was published on the same date they released their Currency Policy Update. I played the 3 games they reference in that update.
  6. Because it's not an even trade off, considering a daily is worth 10 AA vs a weekly at 40 AA, which skews the math, I'm not so sure that the restriction has anything to do with the total AA allowable. I'm wondering if it's not a limitation of the new format, the UI being used for the WV itself. You techy guys here, is it possible that Anet is restricted to a certain number of strings, lines of code, by the parameters of the new format?
  7. I can't believe you felt compelled to write that.
  8. I'm not sure if this answers your question or not, from the blog post - Combat in Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure Once you’ve unlocked Weaponmaster Training in Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure, you’ll be able to use elite specialization weapons without the corresponding trait line equipped. This will be the case even if you haven’t trained an elite specialization. That means that even if you don’t own the other expansions, you’ll be able to mix and match weapons from the elite specializations associated with them. (You’ll still need to own the appropriate expansion and fully unlock each elite specialization to make use of its trait line—not to mention getting the signature weapon and armor piece!) So, none of this will effect those who don't own the SotO expansion. If you're new to GW2 & SotO is your first introduction to it, then in order to fully appreciate all of the weapons at your disposal, you will have to purchase one or more of the previous expansions, depending on which weapons you're interested in using. Otherwise the trait line associated with your weapon choice isn't activated. I could be completely wrong, but that is how I interpret what has been said to date.
  9. @Rubi Bayer.8493 has already acknowledged the problem with potions earned & saved prior to SotO release, being removed from wherever they were housed, whether in guild banks, in individual player banks or individual player inventories. Potions that you had in your account were not kept. Please see this thread for her input, her advice:
  10. I like this idea. It would effectively eliminate objectives from expansions not triggered by actively playing in them. Unfortunately, it doesn't take much playtime to trigger the mastery system. In my case, I was greedy & wanted the raptor, so I jumped ahead to PoF in order to get it. That naturally triggered the associated mastery line, so now the WV regularly gives me objectives in that expansion, even though I'm not there yet in the story. Like a dummy, I jumped ahead to EoD because I wanted to see with my own eyes, how my graphics settings responded to the green aesthetics, why some players were overwhelmed by them. Even though I only ran around the first area a bit, I can't remember for sure, but I think that is when the mastery line was triggered. Since then, I've joined a guild with a hall located in Cantha & have completed daily harvesting there & stepped foot on the first map. So if I had not checked out the green earlier, I'm guessing that by visiting the guild hall and / or stepping foot on the first map, the mastery would have been triggered then & there. So while I really like this idea, maybe it could be taken a step further. Maybe if a player has completed the first map or done X number of hearts / events in an expansion, then they get objectives there as well. Something along those lines would have effectively locked me out of having WV objectives in those maps, until I naturally arrived there in my personal story, or I made the decision to ditch completing the story chronologically. I'm beginning to feel that ditching the story might be the solution, which isn't ideal, but maybe necessary to really enjoy the game now vs sometime in the future.
  11. Invisible Pete.7290 - "Additionally, that maximum includes Astral Acclaim earned for completing Weeklies and Specials (which only pertain to SOTO, so players without it may not complete them) – both of which demand a greater time commitment than some players can afford. Since the Weekly are likely to be different from player to player, it will be more difficult to team up to accomplish them." With the exception of SotO, I have all of the content published so far for GW2. I haven't finished HoT yet & barely skimmed PoF. Needless to say, haven't started EoD. As a result, until I buy SotO, (still don't feel there's any rush to) I won't have any Special Objectives. A year from now when a new expansion is launched, I imagine those objectives will be a mix of SotO & the new expac, or the Special Objectives will be expanded, doubling the current number & so on down the line with each new expac. I'm fine with this. Unfortunately for players who haven't fully explored all of the content they own, we are either being forced to completely disregard the story line, or forfeit the Daily & Weekly rewards, now & going forward, if & when we buy the expacs. I've completed 4/6 Weekly Objectives. My remaining choices include, Kaineng Blackout Meta, Defeat 100 Jade Mechs, the Retrospective Runaround & a Strike Mission. I'm not going to EoD, so that eliminates the first 2. Over several attempts, I've spent hours on the Retrospective & I'm determined to do it without using the Wiki. Unless there's a miracle, I don't anticipate completing it this week! So even if I succeed at my first ever Strike mission, that would leave me with 5/6, a no win situation. I can't complete my Daily because one is, Loot the Chest of Vasburg... In all honesty, even if I had fully explored EoD, after reading the Wiki walk through, including these bug notes, I sure as heck wouldn't want to do it anyway. Info from the Wiki: Bugs: If Lukas Vasburg is friendly and does nothing but ask "Are you the one that let the emptiness in?", it is impossible to fight him and start the mini-dungeon. Apparently this happens if he was previously killed fully rather than just brought down to 50%. Occasionally the final chest cannot be looted (even after placing both the Amber and Jade runestones on the pillars), even after repeating the puzzle or changing maps - if this occurs, you will have to try another day. Progressing too fast through the puzzle to use the portal may result in being kicked out from the puzzle. So at this rate, the choices that I can look forward to are 0/4 Special, 4/8 Weekly & 3/4 Daily Objectives. At least I'll never have to worry about exceeding the maximum amount of AA allowed. 🙄
  12. Be sure to read this thread before you try the suggestions given to you here. While the suggestions would no doubt work, you still wouldn't be able to complete that daily. For the person who is confused, the dungeon to be completed for that daily is bugged to the point where you can't complete it. The thread that I referenced explains.
  13. Thank you Tekno! Yeah I figure that I can still earn HoM rewards at any time, but I've never participated in the Wayfarer's Reverie & was just wondering if there is leeway to do that, or if there is a kind of fixed path / agenda, that won't allow for straying off to earn them.
  14. @AresGuildwars.6372 I haven't played GW for many years. Do you know if, while playing through Wayfarer's Reverie, I can earn reward points to use to finish off my Heritage armour?
  15. @Rubi Bayer.8493 Thank you for the reply Rubi! 💫 Could you please confirm that the same correction will be made to the chests / potions, that were already earned prior to launch day, which were in players' account banks & individual character inventories? Also, I imagine that they'll have to submit tickets as well, that there won't be a universal fix / patch? Hopefully, anyone in that position, who isn't aware of this glitch, won't lose out if there isn't a patch. Good luck to you & the team with everything SotO!! 🍀🍀🍀
  16. I know that sometimes people on the forum will suggest to others, that they request that their ticket get promoted up the line to someone with more seniority. Maybe if you flag Rubi Bayer.8493 she'll give you some more information. I can't imagine that they really meant to do this & if anyone should know, one way or the other, it's Rubi Bayer.8493 When I say to flag her, I mean right here on the forum using the @ command. That way everyone can see the result & know the final answer.
  17. I sincerely hope for all of you that it's a bug, one that will be hopefully, easily fixed asap. o/
  18. The guys are right, as confirmed by Anet in their blog: "As you can see in the chart below, players who have already trained certain Masteries (or who go back to unlock and train them later) will have additional benefits: their mounts’ Air Rescue and Wall Launch skill will be upgraded to reflect their dedication."
  19. Thank you for the feedback people! o7 I'm afraid it's all way beyond me & because of that & the fact that I mainly PvE only, I realize that I don't have the same worry as you guys. But for sure I can appreciate that all of you, who really enjoy & take advantage of all of the game modes, have much more invested in the way of gear etc. than I do. Hopefully, the devs are making really thoughtful decisions regarding the 6th. rune slot value replacements. Also, because they've said that the numbers aren't finalized yet, then maybe by launch time, each of our level 60+ characters will have more than 40 relics to make our choice of 3 from. Personally, even if they gave me all of these details in advance, I'd be no further ahead & even worse, I'd probably kitten myself trying to make any changes in advance of launch day. I'll just roll with the punches on that day. 😛 Fingers crossed the infamous spaghetti code holds up what with all of this messing about!! 😕 On previewing my post, I'm now wondering why my use of g i m p is censured? I sure as hell wouldn't f myself, so what the heck?! And if hell is permitted, then why isn't g i m p? Anyway I digress... 🙄
  20. According to the blog post, with the exception of the removal of the 6th. bonus special effect, the original, or first 5 attributes on all existing runes will remain unchanged. "When the expansion launches, each character of level 60 or above will receive a relic chest to get you started in the new system with a choice of three core relics (exact number subject to change). Additional core relics will not be account bound and can be crafted and shared between players." As long as you're happy with how your characters level 60+ are geared now, then wouldn't it be best to leave them as is, until you see each characters choice of 3 core relics at launch? Depending on the choice, I imagine that there will be one of the three (or more) that you'll want to use, hopefully without having to regear your character at all. "If you have Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure, you’ll be able to acquire expansion relics... obtained through collections, achievements, or story progression. ... While you can’t trade them, they are available to all characters on your account by visiting an NPC relic vendor after you’ve unlocked them." I know vets are really quick when it comes to collections, achievements etc., but since you're going to have to do some "work" to acquire expansion relics, then knowing in advance doesn't seem to give you much advantage there either, no? Also, it seems like you'll be able to see all of the expansion relics available right at launch by visiting the NPC vendor, even if you haven't unlocked them yet. EDIT: Just ignore me completely if what you were really concentrating on is the Legendary Relics... sorry. 😞
  21. You might want to consider that it has nothing to do with the amount, but rather the reason. With that in mind, then it may well be that for some, 1 unit of any denomination would be too much to pay on a gamble. It's not a reflection of someone's spending habits, but rather their motivation to spend that money. I could be wrong, but I think this person just isn't motivated to spend money at this time on this expac. It has nothing to do with preferring to buy cheap, but rather buying tangible quality. It's unfortunate that you choose to categorize players in a demeaning way. Edit: At today's exchange, 25 Euro = 36.79 CAD + tax + 20% tip (because I'm not cheap as long as the service is good) & you're looking at 50.77$, let's say 51$ for dinner, daily no less! Sorry, not sorry but, I'm not paying 51$ for any dinner, any day let alone daily, no! Not even for the best poutine in the world! It's not happening. By all means enjoy your daily 25 Euro dinners though. Make sure you chew well before you swallow. I wouldn't want you to choke. 😛
  22. You quoted him but left out the most relevant part of what he said, i.e., his justification: " I did not pre-order, because the 'slightly reduced price' is too much to pay for what is essentially Anet saying "Trust us - future portions will be great". That's a very strange way to quote someone... <.<
