  1. I thought the Cologne tournament was a good meta, just after the trait changes but before HoT dropped. I can't really remember too many complaints after cele ele was nerfed.
  2. You can do a lot of damage with nades, but there's no way someone hit you 4.5k damage per grenade. Assuming it was shrapnel, you'd need over 3500 power, 300% crit damage, 25 vuln, and every damage multiplier engi can have to be active for that amount of damage [Did the calculation]. I know what you're trying to say, but hyperbolising doesn't help your point and only derails from an objective discussion on how to fix engi without gutting the profession.
  3. Holosmith offers everything core engi could want and more. Heat therapy heals more than any of engi's actual healing skills as a passive. Photon forge is the most reliable damage kit with the biggest impact skills of any other weapons/kits engi can use. The condi cleanse trait is the best single trait for condition cleansing which engi has, even being able to use it while CC'd. All other engi traits normally specialise in one particular thing and you take them to offset the gaps in the others. With holosmith, there's no gaps, and has skills which synergise better with core traits than any actual core skills i.e. hard light arena
  4. The issue with holo I don't believe is the access to photon forge so altering cooldowns or the like isn't going to be very significant except for reducing mobility. The main issue I think is to do with the perks of having high heat. Any good holo juggles their heat as high as possible, not for the PF skills (they're all 'good' but nothing OP). Having perma 20+ might, 3 condi converts every ~8ish seconds, 200-400 healing per second, and essentially perma-superspeed from a single traitline is definitely what I believe should be adjusted. The might generation and healing from losing heat being the main issues where it makes Holo able to heal from basically 0-100 whilst still having lots of escape options (also ticks down during elixir s) and heaps of power damage. The high damage of photon forge skills is mostly from the damage increases from the last minor trait and might (to do with high heat) than the actual skills themselves. I'm sure if we gave 30%+ damage to most power weapons then their damage would seem equally (or more) as ridiculous.In short: Look at the perks of having high heat, not the photon forge skills themselves.
  5. There's not much you can do. I'm sitting at 300 ms as well. You'll see 'some' benefit from using something like pingzapper but that'll only imrpove by ~30 ms and it'll0 probably give a more stable connection. I use it because it's only like $30 for a year but there's others that'll work too. I used to get 220 ms before the amazon servers but getting it under 250 ms nowadays is basically impossible just because we're literally on the other side of the planet and things can only move so fast through cables. You might want to try EU out instead of US as the US servers are based on the East but I didn't see any improvement from this either. Sorry man. As for adjusting to it, that'll just come with time. Ping is only really relevant in pvp and you can have good success still quite easily because it's not 'as' important. Generally you'll be able to just 'feel' what someones is about to do or have the tiniest time to react to bigger buildups. It'll just come with playing though, and there isn't any sort of special trick to it, you'll just get used to it. Melee is definitely more of a challenge than ranged though, don't have the melee collision assistance turned on because you'll want to be sitting inside their model.
