  1. Just finished the return to champions LS. Canach and Rox sound totally different. Anyone else notice this? And the new voices aren’t nearly as interesting
  2. Honestly, I'd take that as a compliment. They're the one raging. Which usually means you won or stomped them.
  3. Just played a few matches. First match I play in ranked, someone on my team, accuses a guy of being a bot. Sure enough, the character acts funny and towards the end, it's pathfinding gets screwy and its spends last few minutes of match running into wall. We lose badly since essentially 4v5. I report and block the toon. Second match, same guy on my team. Same behavior. Lose badly again. Constantly getting ganked because essentially down a player. 3rd match, all human players, we win. 4th match, same bot on my team again. Despite blocking and reporting him. This is an incredibly frustrating experience. I have no problem losing a match to better players. But it's very demoralizing when you start a match with a known bot on your team and know that you're going to get rolled. Over and over again in ranked where you're losing pips and tiers. What else should i be doing to prevent this? And why do i alway seem to get paired with the bots? Be nice to have a few matches with them on the other side, to be honest. I understand it's probably tough to figure this out, but it makes the PVP experience terrible and I dont know if Im going to continue playing.
  4. I disagree with your premise that cheating is bullying. Bullying is typically targetted and designed to harass and humiliate an individual. There certainly have been episodes of bullying in this game but that is generally more in chat and I believe Anet does respond very seriously to that. Equating anything that causes you stress or discomfort to bullying is a stretch in my opinion. I’ve been in plenty of pvp or wvw matches where the outcome was not in my favor and I felt upset but I wouldn’t call it bullying. I’ve had whole zergs of players in wvw chase me down to stomp me across half the map. Frustrating but not bullying. Secondly, I think you’re making assumptions about cheating. There certainly exist balance issues in this game and they can be made even worse by gear differentials. Rangers do hit hard, especially if you’re wearing low toughness gear. Soul beasts / pets can also reveal you, I believe, or something along those lines, so that may be the reason he sees you. some classes in this game are very good at certain things and it can feel like cheating but it may just be skill or balance differentials
  5. Is the goal to have even teams matched up? My experience so far is that most of my matches have been fairly one sided affairs - for good or bad. I've had those matches where you just get rolled and it seems like you're the only person on your team. No one can win a match up and you're constantly outnumbered in every fight. Then I've had matches where the opposite occurs. Myself and my teammates are just burning through the opponents. My last match i had 17 kills and 0 deaths. That's not a statement of my skill but rather the competition. I've also noted that I tend to go on big streaks. I started the season terrible on 2 losing streaks, now I'm on a huge winning streak. It's odd because it seems like the game has gotten easier as I've moved up the tiers. But I wonder, is that what is intended? If every match was truly balanced, it would be very hard to move up the tiers and rankings. You would essentially have a 50/50 chance in each match, so to go on a 6 game winning streak would be very unlikely. Like 1.5%. It seems like the teams are often stacked, so that one side has a significant advantage. Could just be my experience, but does anyone have more insight?
  6. I never realized this was a thing. I was out of the pvp game for about 3 years. I came back and now I have players on my team pointing out the bot players. How does that even work? I've seen them go and cap points and even fight. I capped mid with one of the guys being an alleged bot. It actually didnt do poorly. We then get beat soundly as the game progressed because of poor rotation and the like. So maybe. Crazy.
  7. Ele still had some decent power and condi builds that are easily viable for raids and fractals. I’ve also been a healer as well. I just find that the rotations are a little more complex than many other classes for equal or lower payoff. It’s not a useless class by any means but simply isn’t the best at what it does ( though it’s weaver condi is pretty good!) and lacks utility of some other classes.
  8. I’m slowly completing the requirements for the legendary trinket visions. One of the requirements is to craft 6 astral weapons which requires large amounts of brandstone dust. I have the home node and I’ve been doing the meteor harvesting events. My question is whether there is a quicker or more interesting way to farm it. Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve found these meteor events to be incredibly tedious. I end up sitting at the Astralarium for 10 to 15 minutes doing nothing. Then randomly a meteor comes and I rush to harvest because it’s time limited. I pray enough ppl tag it to improve rewards snd it’s always a gamble in waiting for 5 tags because you can easily run out of time. Occasionally a full meteor lands and usually the rewards are terrible because many players are unfamiliar with that one and end up attacking it too fast. I don’t mind farming stuff but this event just drives me nuts because I can’t play the game. I have to sit around and do nothing. So out of an hour of gameplay, I have 3 to 4 minutes of harvesting and 56 to 57 of essentially afk or staring at my screen while not playing. Am I missing something? Is there an easier or at least more engaging way to do this? I’ve never played a game that essentially forced you not to play for most of your time.
  9. I really enjoyed the beginning of IBS. The grothmar map was fun and the story was interesting. The bjora marches map ended up being one of my favorites and I loved the mysterious and sinister feeling the story generated. Then they pulled a game of thrones last season manouever. Drizzle wood was ok but the champions story just felt rushed and lacking
  10. I really liked grothmar and Bjora maps. Those were fun to play and the story seemed well done during those events. I like the concept of the “no quarter” map. It’s fun to fight in this war scenario but I feel like the story is a little spotty there. We get introduced to steel legion but then it just seems to fizzle out and I have trouble piecing together what happene
  11. Returning player after about 2 years off. Running into these strike missions which seem interesting and I’d like to try them. Can you just join a random lfg for the strike and give it a try or are they like raids where ppl tend to be very toxic if you don’t have the latest dps build and know the mechanics?
  12. Thanks for the advice. I found a large group after reset.
  13. Took some time off a while back and now I'm back and trying to catch up on the mounts. Would like to get roller beetle. One of the collection comes from defeating the ley-line anomaly during that event. Only trouble is, that it's an old event and I can never find enough people to complete it. It usually requires a sizable and organized group. Everytime I check the event time and come online, I usually can only get about 3-4 ppl. Is there anyway around this?
