  1. I did it on my Mirage, but I didn't use the blinks/teleports and didn't have any swiftness. I was using different build when I started the instance. I had heard about it, but didn't think that I was at that point in the story when I did it, so yeah, I wasn't set up. It is doable, as long as you keep an eye on that laser sight. I ignored the adds, and ran like hell between obstacles. I did die once in the hand-to-hand fighting, but it was easy to get back to her once you learn her mechanics. TBH, the poison cloud was negligible for me, so I ignored it and focused on getting from obstacle to obstacle. Once I got to the structure, the Springer mount got me to the top. I thought it was challenging, but not overly so. It was an interesting fight. When so many of the other fights are basic mob blobs with a "boss" type vet or elite, it was nice to try to outwit a single adversary. It was also nice that the adds weren't the type to follow you forever or stack up. You could concentrate on what you were doing while avoiding death without worrying about how many adds were going to stack up on you by the time you got to the stairs. SOmething else I noticed is that the poison cloud breaks up here and there, usually around the obstacles. There were a few times that I actually regained health instead of watching it tick off.
  2. While I still hope they let her die with dignity, here's a thought... What if, after she passes, her "spirit" or ghost lives on without disability but cut off from the mists? Then we'd have the benefit of her expertise without the specter of her demise... Ok, I know it's a long shot, but it beats the "put her consciousness into Scruffy."
  3. As I said in another thread, I think she should die. Not because I hate her, in fact, it's just the opposite. We've all known for a long time that she was "different" and had a debilitating condition. We also knew she was only in remission, and not cured. Now that she is going to die, let her. She has shown that disabled people are just as capable as those who are not, and she has provided a hero's portion of help from the day we met her. Let her go with dignity. Don't make her into some shadow of herself by merging with Scruffy or some other golem/Asura hybrid. Besides, maybe her death will cause Braham to go home and get married, have kids and be a dad instead of traipsing all over the world complaining about everything.
  4. I don't like that most of the armors don't "go with" their intended wearer. For instance, there are a lot of "heavy" armors that involve leather and "medium" armors that involve metal. They just don't jibe well. There are even "light" armors that look more like "heavy" armor. I'm also very much over the buttflap thing and the trenchcoat thing. I would also throw money at an honest to goodness floor-length, all the way around the body robe or dress or even skirt that isn't split to the nethers. Heck, the one set (feathered, I think) has butt cleavage! Really??? Oh, and what about the bullet things hanging at an odd angle from the Norn light cultural armor? But of all these, I think my biggest complaint is that an otherwise beautiful armor has one aspect of it that ruins it. At least with armor, you can replace what you don't like with something from a another set that might be ok with it. With outfits, there's no "fixing" the part that's ugly. (I'm looking at you, funny looking ribbon things in the Elonian Elementalist outfit!) So, to summarize: No more butt flaps and trench coatsMake heavy look like heavy and light look like lightRobes, please, without the slit in the skirt that goes up to "there."No more odd appendages in outfitsAnd finally, more skins, less outfits. The armor isn't bad, it's just... wonky.
  5. Raptor: I'd like to see an Ostrich... Same "run" animation...Springer: one word....TIGGER!!!Skimmer: Paper AirplaneJackal: A "real" dog breed like a Corgi or CollieGriffon: Unladen Swallow (European, to be exact... ;) )Beetle: As I said in another post, I'd love a hamster ball with a rotating occupant, such as Skritt, Pocket Raptors, Rats, or Suspicious Rabbits from Lornar's Pass.
  6. I would absolutely LOVE to see Bubbles....But, alas, I have a sneaking suspicion that it's going to be Aurene... After all, she did consume the corruption from Palawa Joko. How many times have humans tried to harness the power of something and then discover they have no control at all?
  7. A few episodes ago, I would agree that killing off Taimi would be a trope that the devs would use to suck us in... But, here we are a few episodes later, and I think I have changed my mind. The tech that is available to the world has been growing steadily enough that it would almost be feasible to go the other way and cure Taimi. At this point, I think we all know that "something" is going to happen to Taimi at some point. She has, from the beginning, been designed to elicit feels for her physical state and (ahem) brilliant mind. By now it has been so long that things could go either way.
  8. If there were "high elves" already in existence as a non-playable race, then I would say yes, but because they would literally be foreign to this game, I say no. If the developers were to entertain the idea of adding another playable race, it would most likely be: TenguJotunHylekHirathi (Centaur archtype)At least that would be the order in which I would try to make another race.
  9. I would throw money at the gem shop if they'd offer (as an outfit) the Marhan's Grotto 15K mesmer armor...
  10. I voted other. It's hard to explain, but I have been with the GW franchise since the beginning of Prophecies. I remember Drok's runs, 55 UW farming, and trading miniatures with other players. When GW2 came about, I was there with them. I remember trying to decide which race to be, and being disappointed that I couldn't put Norn cultural armor on my diminutive human. I have seen changes (good and bad) and I have chewed through content that has kept me busy all these years. Face it... 2005 is a long long time ago. I just don't know what GW3 would look like. Truthfully, I'm not sure I want to know.
  11. An employee from ANet was in my guild for a minute way back in beta.... does that count? Otherwise, I see them occasionally. I figure they're just playing so I try not to bother them.
  12. ^ThisI use a mix of the different tiers along with some pretty good pieces of other armor for a look that's all my own.
  13. The only thing I have keybound is changing mounts. I have them bound to the small buttons on the bottom of my gaming keyboard. Otherwise, I am one of those rare people that don't rebind many of my keys.
  14. Took me 5 years to get that diving achievement, and then I had to have a bit of help to get up there. I was very proud when I did. I hope they never change it!
  15. I've been with ANet and the Guildwars franchise since shortly after the launch of GW1. For what it's worth, here's my two coppers' : The trailer shows some beautiful graphics, but it all looks like the CGI stuff that companies put out to suck people in and then the REAL graphics are some leftover 8-bit code that was left out of the original Mario Brothers. Player quotes, in my opinion (yeah, I know, I know...) just mean you have some fanbois. Same with magazine blurbs like you see in movie trailers. It's the look and feel of the graphics, and the fluidity of the combat that will bring people in. GW2 is a beautiful game. You need only to show off the beauty of the desert and the epic scale of some battles. Sit on top of the wall in Amnoon and show people fighting stuff in the desert outside the gates. Show the actual mass of people fighting the Facet (or any other world boss.) Fly a skimmer over the Elon River and attack a drake. Jump up a cliff with a springer. Fly off a waterfall with a griffon. These are the kinds of things people look at and say "Oooh... I love the looks of this game. I want it!"
  16. I understand the frustration with not getting to pick the skin you want, but seriously... it's a SKIN. If it were an in-game bonus that you can't get through in-game means, I would be right there on the bandwagon with y'all. As it is, it's a LUXURY item. Using the car analogy of another poster, it's not saving for a Mercedes and spinning the wheel to get a Pinto. It's buying the Mercedes and spinning to get bluetooth, performance tires, or some other upgrade. Those things aren't something you have to have, but if you want them, you have to pay extra. My only request would be that they be public and not bound. There would be a HUGE in-game market for them.
  17. Most people who have mounts and go back to the core game have already done a lot of the content already. Doing it on a mount is most likely an alt. If a trial player really wants the mounts, buy the game, and then do the work that it takes to get to 80, go to PoF, and get the mounts. I see no need to give them a trial glider or trial mount. As for the above poster's issue with downleveling, that probably needs a thread of its own rather than adding to this one. I kind of agree with you, though.
  18. You can map mounting to hotkeys. I have mine set to: F1 RaptorF2 BunnyF3 SkimmerF4 JackelF5 Griffon. You will need to set your default mount (when you press "X"). The key bindings won't change that. ^ Obviously not an Ele/Temp/Weaver... :) The solution to mseiei's problem is: Use a skimmer instead of using a bunny and then a raptor... The skimmer will mitigate fall damage, and then be immediately able to "launch" over the broken bridge. There are only a few places that a raptor will outdo a skimmer on a jump. As for my feedback, the only complaint I have is that in the very beginning of the PoF where you have to level the raptor... Mastery Points are a bit (not a lot) more difficult than they need to be. Thankfully, there's a TON of Mastery Points contained in the Crystal Oasis achievement track. Once you've gotten the next mount, whether it be the bunny or the skimmer, they are a lot easier to get.
  19. How about a way to return an item? Many times, the application in game of an item that looks great in preview just doesn't translate. If I buy a set of wings, for instance, and they look horrible in the world, I would happily return them. No harm no foul, just return them for what I paid for them Consumable items such as boosts, permanent mining/gathering tools, story packs, and dyes shouldn't be returnable, and there should definitely be a time limit such as 24 hours, but durable goods such as outfits and skins could easily be returned and removed from one's wardrobe. Just a thought...
  20. ^This. If you look at your achievement list, almost every achievement for the first zone (Crystal Oasis) has an AP attached to it. Some of them are incredibly easy, albeit time consuming. By the time I was ready for the Jackal, was prepared. Like others, though, there needs to be more to do to get the exp necessary.
  21. hm... Have you tried looking through your achievement list? Some of them have traditionally given mastery points as a reward.
  22. I don't know if it works yet, but it worked in testing. The easiest way to do it without the instance is to do the very first part of the instance, and then die as soon as you're able after arriving in Elona, then choose (exit to Amnoon) or whatever it says. I will most likely test it out later. One thing to keep in mind: I have yet to find a way to get a raptor mount except by going through the instance. This might still be true, or not, but I haven't seen anything about it.
  23. When you say "easily accessable" do you mean that you can't just walk up to them and commune? Or do you mean that you can't get there period? The simple answer to the first part is that sometimes you have to take friends with you, such as most of the HP challenges and some of the mastery points in Verdant Brink, Auric Basin, etc. The answer to the second part is more difficult. I found one mastery point where I was standing on the icon in the map, but it said that it was 12K above me... and there was only sky. That is an issue.
  24. My only real concern with mounts (since we're getting them whether we want them or not) is that at some point they will cease to be "organic" and begin to look like stuffed animals, Pikachu, or pink mini coopers. If they keep with things you can more or less find in the GW2 world, then fine.
  25. More armor skins, less outfits. Some of us love Fashion Wars and would like to mix and match skins instead of being stuck with an entire outfit. Some suggestions:Luxon Elite Elementalist - LightElite Sunspear Monk - could be Light or MediumElite Kurzick Warrior - Heavy Just sayin'
