  1. I can just jump into wvw to get my gift of battle, what's stopping you from doing the same?
  2. Honestly? I'd be down if they made a mystic forge recipe that used memories of battle and some exclusive (Yet tradable/marketable) items obtained within WvW. Give WvW some method to make money. Want a gift of battle without doing WvW? Pay a premium. Don't want to pay the premium? Do WvW.
  3. It's something that's a reward for WvW players for playing WvW. It's been this way since 2012. It's an item used to show mastery over the game modes, even if it's a small sort of mastery. Now you might be thinking "But Epsi! Map completion was changed!" and you're right. Map completion for Core Tyria was changed to exclude WvW. This is because it's actually fully possible to have points of interest, vistas, and other map completion objectives be wholly inaccessible to persons for weeks or months at a time. Getting the Gift of Battle though? That's just a 4 hour adventure in WvW escorting yaks, killing sentries, or following the blob. If someone starts griefing you by killing you in WvW, you can either go to a different borderland, call for backup, OR leave WvW to preserve your points.
  4. Why is it so hard for other gamer understand that there other game modes with different rewards for progression
  5. As someone who's had to patch stuff in code that's far more simple than whatever this game runs on, sometimes a 'simple fix' isn't as simple as it seems on a surface level. There's probably some extra problems layered throughout the code for this specific point that causes multiple problems when one thing is fixed and it has to continually be pushed back as every new fix breaks something else. Whack-a-mole with bugs, especially with content that's from the core game.
  6. I believe that the stealth from the mount abilities I linked don't interact with any class abilities or traits. If what OP wants is added, it could just be that stealth if it's that problematic to give actual stealth.
  7. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Stealth_(mount) https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Stealth_2.0_(mount) This already exists.
  8. In terms of infusions, they're relatively cheap. Both as an infusion would only cost you roughly 250 gold if you got the right stat combos. Maybe 300 gold to be safe.
  9. It's Luminescent first, then saturating after. You'll have this greyish border, but at least your hair and armor won't be whatever Luminescent color you got. But also I didn't realize it did this on map swap. heck.
  10. You can combine Polyluminescent Infusions with a Polysaturating Infusions to have it only apply to the skin.
  11. I think this thread counts for my "PSA: [Thing that was recently in the patchnotes]" bingo slot.
  12. I'm in the same boat, but that's because I have way too many alt characters (they were my build templates before build templates), but a brand new player wouldn't have stacks of these, even after a year. Yes, let's spend an even longer time farming gold to convert to gems for the privilege of working around this oddity in how instanced content is being delivered. I was pretty content running the same 7 raid wings, 5 IBS strikes, and set of T4/CM fractals for the past 3ish years when I started getting into instanced content, I'll be fine running the newer strikes as well. This story gating with strikes is also something ANet has only recently decided to do with EoD and SotO.
  13. It's a paid for option, so no, it's not. Telling a new player who doesn't enjoy the story and wants to do instanced content "Well either slog through the story or buy these limited use items (Or the permanent variant if/when it's on sale) to skip it." is not valid.
  14. I am. TP to friend is not a valid solution as it's a cash shop substitute for advancing through the story. (And no, the freebies from bday rewards aren't a valid option.) I did say that the strikes that came with IBS didn't require story. Here's what I said specifically: First one is dungeons, second one is fractals, third is raids, fourth is strikes from IBS, fifth are strikes from EoD onwards. Dungeons aren't comparable. While yes, you had to do story mode to open an explorable mode instance and used to have to be on the same map, story mode and time to travel to the dungeon is substantially shorter than having to do half of an expansion's story. Fractals do the tiered content delivery correctly allowing newbies to experience the content and not forcing people familiar with the content to have to go through the T1/T2/T3 variant of the new fractal until they can do it on T4/CM. Raids were just open on delivery and now they have emboldened mode for newbies to get into. Strikes started as open content for people to freely get into at their leisure with IBS and now they're separate with every single new release having a new spot that players have to go to in order to get the prompt to join.
