  1. I'm in the same boat, but that's because I have way too many alt characters (they were my build templates before build templates), but a brand new player wouldn't have stacks of these, even after a year. Yes, let's spend an even longer time farming gold to convert to gems for the privilege of working around this oddity in how instanced content is being delivered. I was pretty content running the same 7 raid wings, 5 IBS strikes, and set of T4/CM fractals for the past 3ish years when I started getting into instanced content, I'll be fine running the newer strikes as well. This story gating with strikes is also something ANet has only recently decided to do with EoD and SotO.
  2. It's a paid for option, so no, it's not. Telling a new player who doesn't enjoy the story and wants to do instanced content "Well either slog through the story or buy these limited use items (Or the permanent variant if/when it's on sale) to skip it." is not valid.
  3. I am. TP to friend is not a valid solution as it's a cash shop substitute for advancing through the story. (And no, the freebies from bday rewards aren't a valid option.) I did say that the strikes that came with IBS didn't require story. Here's what I said specifically: First one is dungeons, second one is fractals, third is raids, fourth is strikes from IBS, fifth are strikes from EoD onwards. Dungeons aren't comparable. While yes, you had to do story mode to open an explorable mode instance and used to have to be on the same map, story mode and time to travel to the dungeon is substantially shorter than having to do half of an expansion's story. Fractals do the tiered content delivery correctly allowing newbies to experience the content and not forcing people familiar with the content to have to go through the T1/T2/T3 variant of the new fractal until they can do it on T4/CM. Raids were just open on delivery and now they have emboldened mode for newbies to get into. Strikes started as open content for people to freely get into at their leisure with IBS and now they're separate with every single new release having a new spot that players have to go to in order to get the prompt to join.
  4. We got the desert borderlands for red, how about a snowy one for blue? Give us some steep mountains and let's ski right into the enemy's keeps or towers.
  5. No mounts zones at events? 🤔Actually big brain thoughts. Every mob that's champion or higher has a 5000 range attack that dismounts targets that get hit.
  6. Fractals, once again, demonstrates that ANet knows how to add scaling difficulty that works with no BS. You ahve T1 that's really easy, T2 that steps it up to about Dungeon difficulty, then T3/T4 that goes a bit beyond with CMs sprinkled in there for the extra challenge and rewards. Yet anyone who wants 10 man content has to suffer through story that's dull, lacking engagement, and can be passed by alt tabbing and auto attacking on most classes. Just force me to do the story mode at the instance like how dungeons did it and allow me to open my own instances after I finish story but join other's instances without having to do the story. Stop moving the hubs every expansion. Or, at the very least, have the most recent hub include the new content + portals to the old content (as in, SotO strike hub has all the SotO, EoD, and IBS strike entrances), so one would only have to do the most recent story to get into the content.
  7. I mean, I do, I've been playing other games that don't change how they deliver instanced content every other update to make it more annoying to get into. but yeah, let's just latch on to that. I'm sure when this game that you enjoy eventually does something you don't like and makes it more annoying to access the content you enjoy, you'll be here doing the same thing anyways. Couldn't be that I'm annoyed and disappointed that the instanced content delivery method has changed several times and is inconsistent as hell. Nope. or it could work like every other piece of instanced content. 🤷‍♂️ You lot sound like you'd be okay if they made it so the entry to strike missions could be contested with an event like Citadel of Flame of Crucible of Eternity could be back in the day, lol.
  8. It's more "Go to this map and assemble a party to go through this dungeon after doing a story mode instance." to "Increase your fractal level for more challenge and better rewards." to "Here's a self contained side-story in raids that elaborates on what's going on elsewhere and also has some neat rewards." to "Here are several strike missions you don't need to do story for." to "Here are several strike missions you have to do story for." Personally, I'd rather not have to play through the baby mode of the boss after several hours of mid-tier storytelling and just experience the new strike missions as I did before EoD and SotO. I don't have as much free time as I used to and I'd rather spend it playing something I enjoy.
  9. Well this is a dumb argument. No, I want it to be like fractals or dungeons, or even how raids were structured. Divorced from the main story so I don't have to play through the main story. One of the reasons I avoid FF14 is due to having to do story to do instanced content. I like fighting bosses with smaller, more organized groups. I like exploring dungeons and instances within. I even prefer the smaller, self--contained stories within Fractals, dungeons, and raids. I don't like dragging my feet through mundane, unskippable story just to get at the bites of instanced content I enjoy. I don't want to have to spend 9 or more teleports to friends to get to the new, shiny instance for the new strikes. Spreading them all out like this isn't a good idea and ANet agrees because they made fractals have one spot you can get into them at (Lion's Arch), Raids were all aggregated into the Aerodome, Dungeons can now be entered right outside the Aerodome, strikes are the outlier here. I remember them stating that they couldn't move the stuff in the cutscene having to trigger other things later on in the instance. The change is probably more complex than it's worth, but I think 'skip cutscene' could just force the instance ahead to the next encounter, put everything in place, and start the next encounter. Other games can do this just fine, so I have to wonder what's going on in the background with how ANet constructs their cutscenes.
  10. For every single character? Yeah sure, let me drop 9 of those every single time ANet decides to move the strike mission hub again.
  11. I actually agree in a way. I don't like EoD or SotO story, but I have to slog through that to get to the content I want to play (Strikes) or acquire new relics / attribute combinations for my characters. If I don't do t hat content, I have to do some weird hoop jumping just to get characters into the correct area to be able to jump into the instance.
  12. They'll likely just tell you and others to just go into your sound options menu and turn off other player's projectile sounds.
  13. I asked for screenshots. Generally, screenshot their verbal harassment, report it ingame, and file a support ticket at the same time here: https://help.guildwars2.com/hc/en-us/requests/new This basically guarantees what you're reporting will be seen and it's how I've gotten rid of people who sexually harass others / myself ingame.
  14. That doesn't answer my question. Do you have video/screenshots of evidence that shows them specifically stating in /say chat or to one of your guild members in whispers that they're specifically targeting your guild?
  15. So, has this person specified they only do it because of you and your guild?
  16. Then I suppose WvW and PvP are the exception, not the rule as players can acquire the legendary look without going full in on the legendary cost. They still have to progress to the point to acquire those skins, however. This is something I'd like to be expanded upon, similar to how WvW and PvP don't have t o do the massive grind to get the legendary armor skins. Also, right now, the current obsidian armor looks a lot like the precursor Envoy armor with the static meshes, no flashiness, no lights. It doesn't even have subtle glow like the WvW or PvP armors. As someone who already has their armor, there's really nothing for me in this expansion outside of new weapons to play around with. If I didn't have to do yet another legendary grind to acquire the new armor skins (Yet still had to do some plevel of participation and complete the same collection achievements) Yes. See WvW and PvP legendary armor skins. Also, in the grander scheme of things, armor, weapon, and backpack skins have all been divorced from the actual gear (After acquisition, of course) since the introduction of the wardrobe system. This means a player could buy a skin item that gives the same skin as an armor, weapon, or backpiece. The closest example to this I can recall are the basic weapon skins in WvW that can be bought for badges of honor, have no functional attributes, and just act as a means to transmute to those skins freely. I believe they were aureate, krytan, and other basic skins. Personally, I think there'd be a lot less people with problems on how this armor was introduced if there were precursor armor sets that looked similar, didn't have the legendary cost, and then were what was upgraded into the T1, T2, T3 / etc. obsidian armor.
  17. K, so it's not a problem for you, but it will be for me,
  18. I want the obsidian armor skins without it clogging my armory. It's already going to get crazy with 6x armor, 5x weapons (On average, give or take more depending on profession), a rune slot, and a sigil slot. That's ~13 slots. I don't want another 6 per armor weight taking up space and making it difficult to find what weapon I want.
  19. There's already a way to get WvW and PvP legendary armor. Honestly, I'd like a way to just get the skins (no legendary functionality) of Raid and SotO legendary armor.
  20. That's about as much as I paid for the rune, so IDK what you're on about.
  21. Hi, yes, the solution is currently bugged and hiding important effects from dungeon, fractal, raid, strike, and some open world encounters. If Anet implemented my solution and persons just stacked various infusions, they weren't concerned about fashion and which infusions would look good to complete their character's appearance. ANet isn't so starved for money that they'll miss the ten or so people who spend their paychecks every month on this game to buy yet another infusion. Regards,
  22. Hi random dedicated player, I hope this finds you well! I, personally, hope ANet grants your wish, but makes it so all infusions stack in the same method of intensity that they do when having the same stats so I can stop seeing all these lightbulbs around. Regards, A player who's sick of all this glowing nonsense on their screen.
  23. Dear Quasi... You claimed *everyone* not *some people* in relation to gold. The article you linked doesn't even make mention of gold outside of a quote about someone missing all their items and gold.
