  1. Personally, I would love an Asura-centric story, which expands on the rivalry between Asura tech vs Jade Tech. There is no way Phlunt and the Arcane Council don't have a rivalry with Joon and Xunlai Jade. Kaineng is directly cutting into the Rata Sums's market of golems and waypoints. Having the two giant technology behemoths of Tyria at each other's throats would be very funny. I want Phlunt and Yao in the same room, flinging insults at each other, dissing each other's tech, with Tengu in the background just tired of it all. An asura-themed expansion could also be a neat opportunity to delve into subject matter like the eternal alchemy, which should be a hot topic now that all the dragons are dead. What would Omadd's machine show? A neat segue to tie it to the Cantha region could be the Asura reclaiming old land in the Depths of Tyria underneath Echovald and Kaineng, which is one of the places we meet them in Eye of the North. This would geographically locate them adjacent to Kaineng, allowing Map Zones with Asura Tech in the midst of Cantha. (Could even follow up with Ivan who is annoyed by Asura trespassing into their own tunnels.) Most importantly, I think a concept like this would actually help the world of Guild Wars feel more interconnected. A big problem with SOTO and EOD is it feels isolated from the heart of Tyria itself. So having an actual crossover between Cantha and Central Tyria would help a lot for the immersion of Tyria's world.
  2. Ignore the whiners. The damage numbers in this game right now are so over-tuned that the nerfs are more than justified.
  3. I want Jade Bot skins that aren't all "cute". Ideally, things that are more "lore-friendly" with the world of Tyria. Some ideas: - Kryptis Turret - Wizard Construct - Scrapper Gyro (reminiscent of when they were full-sized minions back in 2015) - Job-o-Tron (Can call it "Bot-O-Tron") - Floating Fire (without the silly face and arms of the existing one) - Raven Spirit (for the Norn) - Sylvari Seedling -
  4. Could you possibly elaborate? I would argue my proposal for Sacrificial Conditions allow for more tactical gameplay, and opens up the doors for more interesting levers to balance Necromancer.
  5. One of my frustrations with Necromancer is that while we benefit from having certain conditions applied to ourselves (either for Dagger MH or transfer), we are constantly at odds with healers who remove our conditions. In particular, the reworks to MH dagger while very fun, are disappointing since their potential is limited when teams keep removing our conditions. I would like to suggest a few solutions to this problem: - New Debuffs: "Sacrificial Bleed" and "Sacrificial Torment". These debuffs function exactly the same as bleeds and torment. But because they are classified as debuffs instead of conditions, they cannot be removed by normal means. - Condition Transfer skills convert Sacrificial debuffs to normal conditions and transfer them to opponent, as per a normal bleed and torment stack. - Master of Corruption Rework: Corruption Skills now apply "Sacrificial" variants of self-applied conditions. - Dark Pact applies Sacrificial Bleed to self instead of bleed. This way we could still enjoy the gameplay of Necromancer sacrificing its own HP to deal damage, but we don't have to worry about conflict with our allies. Perhaps the concept of Sacrificial skills could even be leveraged in the future for a high-risk-high-reward style of gameplay, where we edge on the verge of death, and then blast an enemy with a bomb of condis. (This could be an interesting playstyle for Harbinger in order to separate it from Scourge.)
  6. Hello, ANET Balance Team! Firstly I want to reiterate my previous post that I fully expect, and understand, you to nerf things that are more than justified being nerfed right now. (Looking at Scourge...) What I wish to talk about right now is Greatsword on Herald. Yes, it's a bit overpowered. But the "feel" of the weapon is so good that many of us are absolutely in love with it. It feels like the missing piece to Revenant that many of us have wanted for a very long time. Thus', on behalf of Revenant players, my request is that if you do nerf Greatsword on Herald, you do not remove it from play completely, but only slightly shave it. In addition, the Concentration bonus of Herald is also something that you should look into nerfing, since that is what enables so much Herald to be overpowered (as it allows us to fill the Quickness role without having to use boon gear, resulting in no tradeoff whatsoever.) Anyway, the point is to express how much so many of us love Greatsword on Herald. We hope you will be delicate with the nerfs to it. Here's a video by someone else about talking about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B49XoaaP5VQ I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us on September 26th. Thank you!
  7. I would not be surprised if this is the case. Unfortunately there are some members of the community who have a very smug, arrogant "I know better than you" attitude, and refused to accept ArenaNet's vision when it came to balance. There are some changes ArenaNet may have, in the past, wanted to get feedback on, without the schedule to change an incoming skill update. Maybe they even disagreed with the community about the nuances of an update, since the members of the community cannot see the bigger picture that ArenaNet sees with future upcoming changes. (That isn't to imply anet hasn't messed up balance patches before. But rather to state the community does not always know best, and popular ideas are not always correct.) Every time ArenaNet has done previews in the past, the community just could not get off their high horse. What's worse, some members would even attempt to create conspiracy theories and escalations. So now we don't get previews anymore. Deal with it. I hope Darens features this thread on his new youtube series.
  8. Sounds understandable. Thanks for the heads up! Predictions: - Ranger 1h Sword #2 and #3 Nerfs. - Elementalist Warhorn Nerfs - Rev GS Nerfs (though I would lament this one...) - Pistol Scourge Nerfs I also predict that the way some weapon damage will be controlled is by tying a damage modifier to their respective elite specs. All that I ask is that if we're about to face a bunch of nerfs, that we get some fun new toys as a tradeoff. There are a lot of elite spec weapons that don't work well outside their original elite spec, and it would be fun to see new synergies. (Eg. Berserker's Torch having some kind of role on Spellbreaker and Bladesworn.)
  9. Holy... kitten..... I have no idea how you'll create unique combinations for each of the 100+ runes. In any case, I salute the dev team working hard to make this happen. Ye have a difficult job, and I just want them to know their hard work is appreciated. 🫡
  10. This bug has given birth to one of the greatest memes: Reaper is now so strong, it breaks time itself. Thanks for being so swift to fix all this, and kudos for the great laughs! 👍
  11. Hi! Is it meant to specify HEALING Power, or Strike Power? 0.20 coefficient is the Healing one. 0.75 coefficient is the damage component. Thank you!
  12. Most changes seem good to me. I have no complaints. Rather than complain, I do have some questions for future patches: Necromancer Offhands: Is there any intention to possibly provide Necromancer with a better OH for Strike Damage? As you know, Necromancer's Offhands are all focused on some form of utility. WH is focused on CC and life force generation, Focus has boon strip and life steal, while Dagger is condi-focused and has a transfer. So when we use Axe MH or Dagger MH, we don't really have many options. Engineer OH Pistol Is there any consideration to rework Engineer pistol OH? The design itself is a bit odd. You pair it with a clearly ranged MH, but the OH is melee range? (In addition to that, the roleplay is just.. weird. Why is a pistol acting like a flamethrower and shooting glue grenades? Wouldn't it make more sense to shoot an incendiary shot functionally similar to Blowtorch, but able to be used at range?) Chronomancer can supply both Alacrity and Quickness The change to time warp means that a really try-hard Mesmer can seemingly upkeep both Alacrity and Quickness. Is that intended? It doesn't seem particularly powerful though...
  13. Why the heck are people downvoting you/reacting with confused emote? All you're doing is just giving the technical reason.
  14. Old rotation for Bladesworn still works And balancing for GW2Wingman is a terrible idea. Super Smash Bros example: Fox is hardly the most played character in Melee, yet it's universally agreed he is top tier. If you buffed Fox just because people don't play him, that would be a dumb idea because he's already OP. Here's a GW2 example: Healing Scourge and Firebrand were hardly played for YEARS since Path of Fire came out. I can prove this with Reddit threads and old posts mocking Firebrand in particular, if you'd like. Yet we know today they are OP, and now they define the meta. You are also dealing with the bias itself of Gw2Wingman because only accounts connected to that API are actually recorded. With that said, sometimes a spec isn't underpowered just because it isn't played. Want proof? Warrior numbers dropped, despite Condi Berserker benchmarking 35k dps and Power Bladesworn benchmarking 40-52k dps. Numbers are down due to player morale, not a lack of capabilities.
  15. Uh oh... Teapot is literally throat singing as he reads this. Hopefully next balance patch is an improvement. Personally I would much rather not dwell on this patch.
  16. (PvE) Hot take: It's okay that the Guardian is best at support. It's literally marketed as the blue heal-y class with a cross on it, and weapons with healing icons. It's literally its identity, like how Ranger's longbow has 1,800 range. When a new player is at class selection screen, they want clearly defined roles for their classes. The point of having other classes cover aspects of support is to fill in for when certain classes are absent, or to bring a special niche. Perhaps not every class excels at every encounter, which is how it should be. I do think Guardian should be nerfed in some respects, perhaps making it just a bit harder to play than mashing mantras, and bringing it slightly more in line with others. Perhaps also their might and fury output could be nerfed, shifting their role to something more defensive. However, it's fine being the top support overall.
  17. Hiya, small request to Engineer: - Can you please fix the recoil animation on Rifle Auto? (As many of you on the team are probably aware by now.) - And if possible, a slight aftercast? While I LOVE the concept of the change, it does feel a bit overturned to the point of looking like a bug. A machine gun is something I've wanted in GW2 for a long time, and the rifle rework directly fills that niche. But even machine guns have limited ammo capacity. Perhaps Rifle auto isn't the place for something like this. But it would be neat as a future elite skill. (Suggestion: Supply Drop allows us to "overcharge" our weapons? Or perhaps a Grandmaster Trait in Firearms?)
  18. Great update! It really makes me happy to see Guild Halls get love. Looking forward to the day, someday, when they receive a larger rework. (Perhaps with Expansion 4?)
  19. https://i.imgur.com/Ovg65hZ.jpg Here is what the glitch looks like once loaded in. Mai Trin glitched the fractal matrix.
  20. I'm fascinated more than anything. I wonder if this has anything to do with world 2 zone 1's raft?
  21. Regarding Catalyst's new unleashed DPS capabilities, how should it compare with Weaver? Is the Weaver supposed to have more defense, while Catalyst is supposed to have more damage?
  22. Very good Catalyst changes. Thank you very much for the update! Once again, thank you very much for the hard work and update!
  23. I'm not a big PvPer, but my impression is that Willbender functions as a decap?
  24. I think this argument once held a lot of water. However, 2019 nerfed Lightning Whip from 300 range down to 240 range. Essentially, that nerf turned Dagger from a mid-range weapon to a melee weapon. Which I think was bad for Elementalist in longterm. Look at all the users complaining about Ele being melee. I think that comes down to the fact Dagger no longer functions as a mid-range weapon.
