  1. There are only 2 CCs that are super cheesy: 1200 range, low cd pulls, and moa. The OP should be talking about boonstrips. Only those are forcing you to get cc'd.
  2. I'm all for visual updates to maps. Right now EBG is the most popular map because Stonemist is a centralized pivot point for all three teams to engage at. So creating engagement on alpine in the mid to lower mid would be good. The ruins are not really doing that. An update they can do is change blue keep walls so that you can't damage inner and outer walls at the same time with a treb. And to make it impossible to damage 3 walls at the same time. That takes so much supply to fix. And for red/desert bl, a lot of the keep movement things are cool, and the place looks great, but there's so many huge mountains that block line of sight and add to long periods of time to set up smaller engagements.
  3. Why would it have to be split to be part of the expansion? The expansions are still part of the mainstream game. I don't know why people keep saying this. I forget when Edge of the Mists came out and if that was part of an expansion or not. I want to see things that encourage people to leave a keep/tower/spawn other than to do the weeklies. If we don't get a new map, create incentives and alternate objectives.
  4. I don't want changes simply to make streamers money. What an obnoxious thing to suggest. Everyone is bored of WvW. Right now it's just wait until prime time for large scale battles or play other games instead. We want new maps and new things to do in WvW. I didn't expect this many replies already. I am just going through these now.
  5. The last area we got was desert boarderlands many years ago, and nothing but world structuring and minor changes since then. Many streamers for this game still focus on WvW-only content.

  7. Melee range support is garbage now in WvW. Really noticing random rapid fires from the zergs. This is due to 1) Storeheart being 5s, and 2) cantrip cds not being reducible. I have ditched earth all together for air movement, or play 1200 range staff coward now. Or zele tempest with lucid syng. Totally unnecessary gimps to the class for this game mode. I don't play the other game modes unless I want to farm a skin or mount or gamble. This class gets worse and worse every patch. Kbye. Not reading any responses ever.

  9. Using this item from inventory doesn't add any additional build storage at all. It's supposed to add 3. This was 250 gems. nvm. I didn't realize I had to click the "empty space" section. It should really just unlock the locked tabs and show 4,5,6 imo. (I already have 1,2,3) Why are build storage and build templates 2 separate things that require gems??????????

  11. I'll give it a go. I haven't played D/D actively in pvp since release. I have legendary stuff, so swapping everything around is easy. Already had to the fireworks runes. They looked interesting. Also rarely used unravel. Not sure how to get stab and proper cleanse with this tho?
  12. The movement is the main thing that is bad. The build is based on cleansing and barrier over just raw healing from similar builds. Ranger is harsh against it. I use different utilities than the ones mentioned. I rotate between tanky minstrel tempest, zele staff, and this sword/dagger build. But I am still experimenting with it.

  14. Flame Uprising A lot of enemies easily get distance on eles because they have multiple ports, superspeed, and stealth. We, as eles, have swiftness and lightning flash. Current Fl Up is 450 range. It'd be better at 900 yards. Polaric Leap with sword requires a target to activate the quickness. It's also only 600 yards. Update this to 900. Twist of fate is 1.5s of superspeed x 2 uses. This is fine. It has overall great build synergies. (Edit: just saw Twist of Fate recharge is 75s in WvW (40s in pve). That's way too long for a defensive-only skill - Change to 50s.) Elemental Pursuit is a way to get more access to quickness, but applying weakness from dual attacks (Superior Elements) keeps people in range a lot easier for applying pressure. Bonus topic: Lack of retaliation, quickness, and resistance in the class.
  15. I would love to have incoming damage with consolidated damage type (power or condition type) from playername in a box above my chat or mini-map. Wow has had this for almost a decade. I'm sure that data can be ported. What this does is: instead of showing a flood of 8+ of the same burning in your log, it shows the total damage done by burning from that player based on the times it dealt the damage (not mitigated by invulns).
  16. I thought I could post an image for this. Basically if you turn off game messages on a custom tab like "Whispers" it'll still show when you're spamming trying to take supply in WvW, when someone captures Bloodlust, when you cannot use an item, when you have full supply, etc. types of messages. I have "game messages" disabled, but it doesn't count these red messages for some reason. This happens for all custom channels. It's useless information. They should all fall under the Game Messages catagory.
  17. I did have fun in EotM when it was populated. It has some unique properties. There's some nodes you never wanted to fight at because the other team was full of fear spamming necros or something. lol The auto-firing cannons that knock you down are kinda annoying. Not having active waypoints to get from respawn back to the other 2 sides of the map is super discouraging. The destructible bridges are a great idea. You could add elements like that in APB. Such as destroy the bridge going from left side of Gary or have it be able to be turned on and off on a timer. When they added the ruins to middle of the map to claim the buff, people were using them to hit keeps and towers, but now people don't bother with that anymore. There needs to be more draw away from the keeps in APBs. An elite for the green side of EBG could go in that area where the kraits spawn to control frogs. Technically you could buff those elites even more and have them as wandering mobs that defend the respective keeps. They are very easy to kill in their current state. You could change that auto-turrets tactic for gates to hit multiple targets in front of it. Maybe add random timed events around the map, especially during seasonal events like Wintersday and Hallows End (for example). Turn the dolyaks into a giant pumpkin carriage. Have presents drop in random locations you have to go smack to get the small presents out of (like they have in pve). Obviously preventing other players from getting to the presents will be the risk. Being able to hit 3 walls in EBG blue keep, or inner and outer keep at the same time should be changed. No one wants to play as blue. You shouldn't be able to build trebs in spawn that enemy players can't normally reach without legendary guards 1 shotting them or teleporting them out of the area.
  18. I have much to read here since my last post. Skipped over all the xyz is bad stuff to read the responses with people making actual suggestions. I want to make sure I understand them all before responding to each thing. My personal opinion is that EBG is the best map, and improving on things to do there would be a good starting ground. Making an entirely new map isn't really going to fly, I don't think. Small change examples: owning Stonemist is great, but the waypoint is always contested by just doing a tiny amount of damage to a guard and then leaving. That could be changed. There are a lot of things that can be added to the skill unlocks from wxp gains. Add a veteran monster for that daily to EBG. There needs to be some kind of thing people can do besides just hold objectives when they're outmanned. Taking a sentry or flipping a camp is not going to make anyone feel like sticking around. lol Need ideas here. The spawns, except for Red side, have clear tells on where people are going to go when opposing teams own their keep. The siegebreaker npc should be unkillable for 5 mins as if it was a buffed tower lord that just got captured. I don't recall if the siegebreaker gives people supply or not.
  19. So many long responses since yesterday. Good to see. So what I'd like to do really is to have the community think up ways to make WvW more enjoyable. Just maybe if we can come up with a good outline they will have something to go on. If you can provide links to those already in this sub let me know. What I don't want this thread to be is a bunch of "anet doesn't listen" messages that solve nothing. Conflict kills creativity.
  20. I'm aware of fixes that have happened in EBG. That's not really where I want to take this thread. Also, there are indeed still bugged walls that people glitch through because they aren't pieced together properly. I'm not sure if all classes can do it, but I noticed thieves doing it.
  21. Is it because Desert borderlands didn't get great feedback? Is it because Edge of the Mists is basically a ghost town now? I've been playing since beta (along with most of my homies in-game), and it's because of WvW. The ease of just getting into a map and having fun roaming and fighting large groups of people has always made this my main game despite all the other kinds of games out. If any devs or players want to get into a constructive design discussion I'm down.
  22. The 5 min cd on gale song makes it a very bad choice for anyone to use. And using elemental bastion over lucid singularity is bad. LS is the best support skill an ele has. Better than any other aura. EB is great for support. I have 10 years on Elementalist.
  23. I forget what all the patch changes are that will help us, but 1 of them is that retaliation will no longer reflect damage back at us. This will make power staff much safer. I still feel like melee range is in a horrible place for both damage and defense when it comes to roaming.
  24. I started playing again late of this year. I have 8000+ hours on this Ele. I don't play other classes. I play assassin staff dps weaver with the utmost ease. For dagger/focus, however, I've tried numerous runes/armor combinations (full legendary gear/weaps/jewellery) versus Condi rev/condi war, but they put out damage so fast that I can't even stand anywhere near them. People who play everyday tell me that you need to keep 900 range from revs, and I assume that's how it works for condi warrior, too. Thus a D/F ele support healer can't do anything at all besides run away. If I stay and try to tank I will quickly run out of defensive cds and not be able to get rid of the 3 stacks of torment that somehow do 10k damage for no reason whatsoever. I don't want to see a condi rev/war and think "lolbroken" and run away as a general rule. I think everyone pretty much thinks revs are busted. A condi warrior takes no damage while dealing huge damage. Incredibly frustrating. I feel like anet likes doing stuff like that to make people not want to play at all. I certainly don't want to play D/F anymore. The problem is the low stack condis doing so much damage, then repeatedly apply more applications after cleansing them.Ranger seems to have a lot more cc now, too. I noticed some posts about people saying it's an unwinnable fight, but I think weaver with fire and/or air elementals is the way to do that. I'm starting to think that weaver is the only thing I should ever play when not in a group or I'll just be dead. Everyone is playing the most obnoxious cc/condi/mobility. Only fresh air weaver is anywhere close to enough mobility and damage to do anything and it's all at the expensive of a never-get-hit playstyle.
  25. I posted this on the current livestream for WvW with the Devs, but it didn't get read:I feel like Elementalist is the class they give things to then take them away later. Like the focus leap distance nerf, and changing obsidian flesh to a channel (making you unable to use other skills) to stay alive other than lightning flash. I'm sure there are many other changes, but those definitely were an unwelcomed change.The aura share tempest is designed to be tanky/support, but it still doesn't have any access to resitence from skills. Even if we got 1s of resistence on application of an aura would be a massive change to the spec.When I play ele I feel like I should be staff weaver to be useful (best mobility), but even as full zerker, the damage feels way slower than other classes.
