  1. Maybe... it is possible they didn't design certain aspects of the game for future changes, but this feature would be a hit to the pocket book, and well, the simplest answer is usually the right one. This is almost always the the case when the answer is money.
  2. Love all of the excuses in this thread.... such as "There is a story quest tied to each race." Well, if you change your race, your story gets reset... duh. Bottom line is the majority of the QoL things people would love to see that they will never see are tied directly to profit and the cash shop. If you create a character, level it, do a map completion and realize you do not like your race, which happens... ALOT, you can't change your race. If you could change your race, you wouldn't have to create a new character, buy all of the waypoints from the cash shop, bag slots, and everything else associated with ALTs.... and we all know what an alt feels like in this game.
  3. Is there a list of ideas in this post that were actually implemented?
  4. I thought that was to combine stacks, but just realized it actually sorts, but is bag specific. I just found a Simple Olmakhan Bandolier bag in my inventory too, haha.
  5. My biggest complaint about the inventory is when I do material deposit, or whatever else that empties my bags, I have a bunch of random spots free. However, as someone mentioned, there are sort bags where this type of feature may make them obsolete, so that makes sense.
  6. Thanks everyone for the thoughtful and thorough replies. Maybe my post was in haste and I didn't get a chance to see some of the QOL improvements as the game matured. Nevertheless, I'm enjoying myself in the game.. and nothing else at the moment can hold me, and from my perspective, that speaks volumes.
  7. I'm genuinely curious if they actually play GW2. I've been playing off and on since release, but never all that seriously. This time I actually put some effort into exploring (did my first 100% exploration,) and investment into the game. I have most characters (cept engi and guardian) to 80 and I'm currently trying out different builds to see what I like the best. The first thing I noticed about the game was the lack of QOL improvements. Simple things, like inventory sort, or waiting for debuffs to drop to mount, unnecessary NPC prompts, etc. I'm sure there are a ton more that I have yet to identify, and most have probably already been pointed out here. The next thing was the complexity of the rotations. This isn't necessarily a bad thing (for me it is,) and there usually are lesser intense play styles... you guys even have a name for them (LI - low intensity.) However, this brings up another point. The amount of ground clutter (TONS of screen spam), movement inhibiters, stuns, etc seem to be extremely excessive, and it makes boss fights not all that enjoyable. Most of this stuff is unavoidable, and often times you get hit by one, it starts a chain of them and you just die. I just did Commander Lonai and I died at least 15 times (running a Condi Renegade.) With all of this going on, and the complex rotations, I tend to get lost and will often just sit there as my brain catches up. I realize this is a 9 year old game, and if those QOL things haven't changed by now, they most likely never will, but I would Iove to know if any of this was officially spoken about by the devs. On the brighter side, the game is absolutely beautiful, the community is fantastic and unlike any other game I've played. There are many things I am enjoying, which are more than the negative things.... just not the carpal tunnel in my hands 😛. Edit - Adding reply to responses: Thanks everyone for the thoughtful and thorough replies. Maybe my post was in haste and I didn't get a chance to see some of the QOL improvements as the game matured. Nevertheless, I'm enjoying myself in the game.. and nothing else at the moment can hold me, and from my perspective, that speaks volumes.
  8. I just started playing (for real this time....) I've had the game since launch, and kept up on expansions, but i never really played. I'm doing the world completion on my first character, and EVERY zone is teaming with players. They are all over the place. I even have trouble with some hearts cause I'm competing with others.
  9. Having a lot of fun with this build. http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?vhAQFAWnsICNohVoBeoBMrhlZjyv+3%2F%2F3sC2tWqMAutkB-jByCwAAeAAv0BARJoP1fCcBAaq8T4+DGM%2FRKgqEtB-e Going to try a Condi Renegade next.
  10. Just recently returned... didn't realize it was a bug. I thought it was just crappy implementation (or is it?) Anyway, this pretty much makes the decision on whether i want to shelf the necro or not....
  11. Thanks everyone for the responses... I'm going to level up a Revenant, and maybe even a Mesmer, and slowly creep back into the game. This will give me all of the classes to mess (except engineer) with and see what I like the best. The necro I'm starting to find a little boring, so maybe I just need to stick with it and learn how to hit buttons better!
  12. The minion master reaper has been what I've been playing mostly... but for some reason, I'm finding I'm dying fairly often, even in open world. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but dont recall the deaths last time I played.
  13. I've been back and forth with so many MMORPGs.... GW2 to me seems to have the most content, and the different areas are quite beautiful to look at. I've played over the years, but never seriously and never more than a few months. I have a Ranger, Elementalist, Chronomancer, Necro, Thief, and warrior at level 80. Most of them, if not all, I leveled through crafting. I want to get back into the game, but I'm having difficulty, especially with the weapon swap thing. Historically, I am horrible at video games, especially when it comes to mashing buttons, and MOST especially when it comes to mashing buttons at specific times and/or rotations. When I payed wow, I used the Gnome Sequencer add on (basically a one button macro... yes, one action per key press... legal), and almost always played a hunter, so it was easy. I love to solo PVE content, so based on that, and the above, what class would be best for me? I dont mind swapping weapons, but basically im looking for the most basic rotation, thats effective. I realize there may not be any such thing. If not, how do you guys with old and creeky fingers manage? I have a game pad (10 key nostromo,) but it really doesn't seem to help. I even have trouble hitting buttons on my mouse. Are there any decent catch up guides out there? Any very active (family oriented) guilds that take in the newbish?
