It’s funny how people underestimate the level of competency that’s possible in this 10+ year old game. Practicing a few combos for a month is like a drop in the bucket. People have several PhD’s worth of commitment and experience on their classes. I promise you it’s possible to hit FA combos faster and more consistently than a month’s practice. …also running an entire combo on where you think a thief player is at isn’t strange, that player just has object permanence.

Might just be me but whenever someone complains about "invuln/evade/block spam", it just screams that they never learned how to adjust their flowchart it doesn't feel like a lot of people want to poke, all they know is burst, die on node, eat hot chip, and lie

but azuree war is just used to their invuln/cc/block/0 0 0 0/walk/dodge/log-in/swap-weapon/even-exist-in-gw2 spamm :( I know, I played the class and punished other players! (who also didn’t know what they were doing) it’s almost as if I can just put lots of words together and add “spam” inappropriately to make whatever makes me feel sad go away :))) -

wallahi we're cooked xdd forums reaching the point where building strategies against specs beforehand is considered mildly cheating 👀👀 DH should probably get addressed ~ but good sir ~ what do you consider "actual gameplay"? and why is your definition somehow separate from knowing a spec ahead of time? -
Gonna need you to be more specific here. Bc "when everything around it has been nerfed" as justification reads as intentionally vague. Some specific questions (answer any as you please); a) How would you characterize DH traps between Aug 22, 2023 (Trapper rune removed)** and Nov 28, 2023 (aegis buffs)? b) Were there any builds during this time period specifically gatekeeping DH? c) What about "DH unblockables & wards" made it ok when Trapper Rune existed but unacceptable when 0 ICD Hunter's Premonition gets introduced? To me this feels like the classic 1-2 punch of Anet's nerfing history #1 - Anet releases new patch that enables no-brainer and high-uptime defensive interactions #2 - Playerbase uses this as an opportunity to call for nerfs to long-standing ok mechanics that a) they never learned to counter + b) does not address punch #1 **actually since ~May 2022 3s -> 1s trapper rune nerf if we're being realllllllllll edit: inb4 "you're confusing effectiveness and poor game design", first post the latest clip of you dodging a DH f1 or True Shot 👀

Glad you said this when your proposed changes are to skills that have kept those functionalities since October 15, 2015 (HoT release :0) .. instead of you know, a certain trait change just a month ago pumping aegis on a 0 (zero, 👌, none) ICD and interacting with another certain relic forums we need to get better at identifying strong interactions, ^ this is how classes get neutered 😶🌫️

Incorrect, you can escape Dragon's Maw without a stability/port. You can do it with one stunbreak even.

Yes, dragon's maw is def a strong elite, and with DH's now regularly taking hammer, learning how to deal with ward effects are important. Especially since scrappers and wards don't mix well. You've already pointed out one trick, but there are a few others with varying levels of difficulty to perform correctly. 1) Dodge/walk out of trap before it activates (difficulty: *****) The animation for the elite has a slight delay between the animation starting and the ward effect being set, so if you're positioned right or have very fast reactions, it is possible to escape without burning a stunbreak or invuln. 2) Stunbreak as you walk into the ward (difficulty: **) This is the most consistent way to escape wards, and just takes some practice with timing. Essentially if you walk into a ward and stunbreak right as you are knocked down (while keeping the w-key pressed) you can escape just fine. The practice is timing the stunbreak but also assessing the trap situation, ex) if there's also a Procession of blades trap (spinny blades) or Test of Faith (spiky damage ring) 3) Block and pray (difficulty: *) If you're truly out of options, then you're left to tango with the guard inside the ward. Prepare your blocks, cleanses, and get ready to think fast. Not an easy position to be in, unfortunately. Use at your own discretion, awareness is your friend, but also realize getting caught every once in a while & blowing up happens to the best of us.
