  1. Where on the doll did a ranger touch you with a short bow :astonished:
  2. This feels like it was posted by a warrior main.... xD
  3. Top Stats can matter if your doing the right things. I'vr seen some people get top stats by 2v1'ing a bunker forever on a node they didn't own and land top dmg. I mean sure you did a lot of dmg and they probably felt like they were mashing their keys like crazy, but they didn't actually accomplish anything except throwing the match lol
  4. Ok, I'm going to chime in here...and say...I always enjoy meme'ing in the gold 1 to plat 1 range especially on alt accounts.....as of late....I have noticed a definite uptick in the amount of "alts" some of who I know exactly who they are....and then others that I can tell just by playing them are clearly higher ranked players on alts playing down in dredges of ranked with me.....I personally think people are sick of playing competitive and just like to not give a crap on an alt account and play in ez mode tiers or tiers where they don't really give a damn. Also if you see someone you like maybe you try a little harder :)
  5. +1 for this post..../15 chars before I get infracted...
  6. 2Gbps for a server is a TON of data for most servers to xfer over the web at least singular servers.... My guess is also that the "Servers" that the pvp lobbies sit on are not scalable large "Server farms" and probably some stand alone box in a data center or a single VM in some cloud provider. For which is you ramp up 2Gbps over the net with 1000 connections is going to cause some bottlenecks on the server. This isn't going to change anytime soon because the cost upgrade these server's is not worth it for them. So here we are.... lol
  7. i have been saying this since CMC made that comment in the 2nd comment in the thread whenever i could. Great to see that others are finally catching on. :) it was Cal Cohen who said it, not CMC but ok scroll up if you don't believe me, the quote is earlier in the threadI laughed way too hard at this....what did you think CMC stood for? lol
  8. I absolutely think it has too steep of a learning curve. Definitely for new players. This is the main reason everyone from Silver 3 to Plat 1 thinks they should be plat 3+ but its their teammates keeping them down, because there are soooo many different things you have to know and do well. You have to know your class well from a build prospective and be able to play it mechanically well ( without having to think about anything it just has to be instinct and second nature ), then you have to understand the role of your build, the other teams build/comps so you know what matches are advantageous to you and where and when you should engage and that's only IF every other person on your team ( or there's ) understands the same concepts and plays the same way ( which almost never happens ) so when people start doing other things then the roles that the "meta" has laid out for them it becomes a cluster of tactics and strategy dependent on what everyone in the match is doing at any particular point in time. This is the main thing that leads toxicity because everyone thinks they are the one's doing the right thing and carrying and getting frustrated at everyone else, and that entire combination of crap completely turns off new players entirely. IMO
  9. It's more the fact that Anet doesn't care about PvP and even let ESL die rather than investing a bit so the balance doesn't suck.I mean.. I am still always hoping there will be some changes and improvements but let's be honest.. A company that discards their eSport League because of lack of interest in the game mode and that abandon their brand (back then) new game mode (stronghold) rather than advertising and improving it speaks for itself imo. If you want to enjoy TDM then I'd suggest playing custom games on courtyard or something. While yes it can be lame and easy etc. That's the point. For new people starting the game, it is much easier to understand how to participate in a game where the object is to beat the other team. Grab a build that can fit a role and kill the other team. Then as they learn more advanced builds/mechanics etc they can improve. Jumping into conquest in it's current state is just an epic fail....you have to know your class, the enemies class, your role, the other roles on the team, the right comp, when to rotate when not to rotate, to fight on point or kite around the point...and that's just to be half way decent....it's a lot of information for newer players and makes the barriers of entry unreasonably high IMO
  10. Swiss tournament is direly needed though. For like how many years now? Tried that.....I was told to go to ranked....
  11. Power frenzy spell breaker? Interesting.....imo there are better things to play in AT...now...a properly run zerker....could be broken :)
  12. The real root of the issue is the type of pvp style that is being used in ranked.....Conquest...... it is not simple to learn, and even those that have learned it still argue about what is the "right" tactic and what is not... watch streamers playing the same game and they are talking shit about each other lol. When we get a proper game mode that is easy for new people to understand their role in and becomes better as people master their role in more advanced ways, then matchmaking will improve IMO
