  1. Ah sorry for late reply. I use Exitlag, they had a ping chart among other things to track performance. Between all the VPNs I tried, including brand names like NordVPN and ExpressVPN, Exitlag's the best in performance. It's only for gaming though, but it does reduce my average ping from 500-800 to my baseline of 300
  2. Hope this one goes well. Recently I was forced to use Exitlag to mitigate my lag issues while playing WvW with my guildies, and it does help for the most part. Then, yesterday happened, where the lag is there despite Exitlag. I had a look around at the charts, and well... https://imgur.com/a/OI3NEQ4https://imgur.com/a/TBywYwi These spike happen when we clash with the other 2 servers while being outnumbered 3 to 1 by both sides. We're already struggling number-wise, and having this stacked on top just kills any progress we had. I no longer play this game that much outside of my guild's weekend runs, if any.
  3. Sorry need a delete, just noticed something
  4. The one where you have that thing where you autosummon minions and park somewhere with a high monster respawn rate, letting the minions kill things for exp and farming while you AFK? I remember some discussion saying that it is, but since I WvW more than I PvE, that info is blurry for me. Any clarification is appreciated!
  5. As in, 27 September PST morning (or 27/9 nighttime South East Asian) time sorta lag. Had to cancel my WvW run because 5 minutes skill lag on clash with any of the enemies, even just 1 of them. The ping counter on the settings tab kinda glitched out at one point, showing either 0 or normal ping despite me either taking 5 minutes to WP or just disconnecting altogether. If it's just us, then probably some sort of tunneling or DDOS attack or whatever from our opponents, which is not unheard of. We didn't have this problem the previous day. Thanks in advance for reply
  6. I thought the Lance skill is made so that zergs and even small ganking groups can kill solo roamers easier? So that it's better to run on foot rather than on mount when you're alone and scouting/tapping keeps/just trying to do dailies? One stay on mount, dismounts the lone person, then two or three others can pounce and kill immediately? It'll be useful for taking down those stragglers trying to reach their zerg/group, but I doubt the 1-to-1 trade would work well when going against a zerg
  7. That's worrying... EDIT: Hmm, can't delete the thread. Ah well. I mean, they can go down one tier if they wanna, even if it feels very very wrong. And yeah, I'm closely watching the warscore, seems to fluctuate a lot, especially during OCX/SEA
  8. T1 has its moments for very fun and honestly fair fights, but that's rare. And at the moment, the same goes with T2 as well. T3 and is where it's at. Thanks for the comments though, I like discussing stuffs at times, and hearing what others think about something helps open the mind a bit
  9. Fought against the servers in T1, not much of a lag problem at all, just being outnumbered 3 to 1 as usual. Then we went down to T2, and I kept getting like 1000 - 4000 ping spikes on zerg fights during the fight earlier in peak and late SEA times, I think our deaths in skirmishes mostly due to lag, and our performance were severely impacted. Kinda disappointed tbh, but I dunno what else to do than just vent here. My internet setup is the same in both situations. Someone joked that since some of the devs are in one of the T1 servers, the lag issues will not be there. I laughed of course, because that's silly, but in these situations, can't help feeling that there might be more to it xD
  10. I'm well aware of that, but maintaining that kinda of prolonged stealth is what I feel a high skill level play, not something a casual like me can do. So any Deadeyes you see that can do all that stuffs, and do it well and continuously, they're probably very skilled, which is a rarity from my experience playing in two servers. But yeah, I do agree that these kinds of Deadeyes are a nuisance for defending objectives. I mean, what else can they do other than being a nuisance and a sniper there? Not like they can do anything else against a fully comped zerg or even group. Also, like it or not, some people play WvW for the thrill of the fight against a large group of enemies, with the capping being a second thought. Even when WvW was first started
  11. Unrelated to the main post, but I learned a lot reading through. How even BG doesn't have long massive queues during reset nowadays is kind mind-boggling, they always feel so stacked whenever we are fighting against them. Granted, I don't think I've seen map queues in a looooong time, being in a medium server. Tbh, I feel like WvW has entered a sort of pseudo-maintenance period, with not much being done to it. Don't think that'll change anytime soon, and for me personally, that's fine. I'm done complaining, I just wanna fool around there with guild friends every Saturday night, and just adapt to whatever changes (or lack thereof) they decided to make there.
  12. Being a thief main before my lack of skill made me play other classes, lately I find myself running, blinding and teleporting out a lot more rather than stealthing to run from a battle. Even with the scrapper reveal removed, I still feel myself playing skittishly and unload P/P skill 3 with Basilisk Venom up, then dodging away as far as possible. Then again, I only play thief when I feel like fooling around, and to make disabling enemy sieges easier with whatever stealth I have. Shadow Portal and the trait adding 2 seconds stealth on heal or shadowstep, somewhat made the class more accessible for low-skill player like me again, not gonna lie xD Tbh, before the major reworks on Deadeye's stealth, I used to be a scout/keep tapper, with almost 20 seconds of stealth from the previously 3 seconds stealth on rifle dodge roll among other things. I had fun, and felt a bit useful. Even then, the Sentries are my main enemies for the Marked debuff, so close to enemy spawn point, especially when I still have a long stealth period left. I learned where to run to avoid them; like tapping Alpine BL garri from the right side, not left, and knowing that you need to get several hits on a guard for Desert BL garri to tap it, unlike other keeps that only require one autoattack, unless you tap from the south outer gate. I learned to watch the map closely for Watchtowers and Sentries, and avoid them. Then the nerfs happened, and the Detected! debuff by the Sentries are introduced, and I find myself struggling to maintain any sort of prolonged stealth, when even the Sentries effectively work like the Watchtowers in terms of reveal. It is doable, but I felt it requires a very high skill level and perfect rotation, which a kinda casual player like me can't do. So I made several new toons, including a scrapper, a firebrand and a scourge, and main those instead. Aka the classes squad commanders want, and sometimes even beg for, for their squads. TL:DR: Thief is hard class to play for newbies like me. Sentries are part of game for long time. The Detected! debuff by Sentries made stealthing, and roaming/scouting, harder
  13. Thank you for the answers! I guess I'm doing kinda okay in the scheme of things. I used to play intermittently for 2 years before this in EotM without any boosters whatsoever as I was only doing it for the fun of it, got to level 200. Back when EoTM is still populated, learned a lot of lessons there that is essential in EBG. Then early this year I decided to make Warbringer, that requires you to reach level 400, so I grinded a bit (having good WvW guilds and friends help tremendously). Got there, then felt like might as well make the legendary armor set a long-term goal. I have slowed down a bit in recent months because WvW got kinda boring, with my aforementioned friends and guilds slowing things down as well, but I'll get to 2000 eventually. Hopefully before the game dies xD
  14. I recently got 1000 levels, after 9 months of playing. I play on and off, but I think 2 hours per day is a good estimate. I rarely ever use the paid EXP boosters unless it's double EXP week because I kept forgetting to keep it up. I usually have either the WvW reward track potion or the WxP one, and Spirit Banner and EXP banner up. I'm just curious to know how fast people level in WvW, because I kinda want to get enough to craft the WvW legendary armor as a keepsake before I stop playing the game entirely. I remember before this, you can use the Tome of Experience to get those levels, so presumably easier to gain levels then.
  15. If you can pose a realistic scenario where you need the mount stomp to win a fight and how it is good for the gameplay I'm all ears. Also why smallscale is worth being sacrified for that. When you're in a group of 5 going against a zerg of 40 trying desperately to defend a keep or tower, and best you can do is gank a few stragglers and instakill them just to be an annoyance. I play in a server and a link that's half as populated as the rest, this situation is a regular occurrence. I'm happy when we got that instakill skill, because us, the smaller group, can actually do something instead of just watching helplessly as the zerg mow down everything! It's good to at least keep morale up in bleak times like that, by having more options for fights. Can't go face to face? Then gank and kill the few left behind. Or maybe even just the driver to kill the zerg's momentum. I feel sad that I see a few new faces all bewildered as to why there's not many people to defend, and they ended up not staying at all or just transferring to another more populated server for ease. I'm already sad that it seems like your movement speed on a mount in an enemy area feels similar to your movement speed on foot, weapon stowed, with quickness boon. This, and the fact you can;t stealth on mounts anymore, means that you might as well just run on foot in enemy areas. I'm already seeing talks to make the second Sniff skill cost supply, even though it has a 60 seconds cooldown, a significant period. And that it only shows the dots to you, in which the dead still shows up in that, and me not knowing for sure whether it shows stealthed enemies as well. Take all of these away, and that mount might as well be a lapcat, an accessory.
