I like the way you think. Spawn camping my own server would be a thing of glory.😈 -
Too Many No Down State Events Is Bad For WvW
Lightning Xv.8705 replied to Sugar Min.5834's topic in World vs. World
1. people are afraid to push regardless of no downstate or not because god forbid they die in a pvp zone. warclaw makes it take soooooooooo unbearably long to run back/s 2. so tag them whilst they are alive or don't play support...or make your allies give you stuff....or best yet go pve if you want real money because wvw loot is dog crap. 3. 75% of traits/utilites/ weapons ect are completely useless in most areas of wvw. A few more being pushed to the side for a week is nothing. 4. I've spent money to buy all kinds of things like extra bag slots and craft slots ....you know those things that are character specific not account unlocks and I then deleted that character losing all of that permanently....you aren't losing anything you still have it you can use your finisher in a week get over your self. In fact if your a zergling you don't use finishers 99% of the time anyway and just cleave things out. conclusion: bye send stuff I like no downstate it means my allies have a chance of being useful rather than a hindrance. Not to mention the current revival meta being ranged is beyond stupid. MI was op but atleast it gave me a chance to delete the guardian now they don't leave the safety of the herd lol -
Harbinger Feedback Thread [Merged]
Lightning Xv.8705 replied to Fire Attunement.9835's topic in Necromancer
Just quote my self from a different thread because i have zero faith in this espec being turned around into something actually interesting enough to unlock. Why friggin pistol. We already got mid ranged weapons. Why not sword/sword mace/mace or either of the two with a shield??? So we can have a different play style also necro needs a dual weapon spec because its off hands kinda suck. We could have had a longbow dps spec( because staff isn't a dps weapon). -
Suggestio: CC damage vs Stability
Lightning Xv.8705 replied to SoftFootpaws.9134's topic in World vs. World
Rather than make a convoluted back end system you just remove the ability for CC skills to crit like they did with so many sigils and traits. Problem solved no more 10k bulls charges or 15k drop the hammers. While at the same time not absolutely destroying weapon sets because half the skills applied a CC (warrior hammer). The removal of all damage from CC skills was a knee jerk move that required follow up balance just like the 300 second traits that still haven't been reworked I don't know what other games you play(ed) but the mmo's I've played over the years that had no damage on cc skills also had 40+ skills to choose from and constant complaints about skill bloat. A bit less noticeable when 5 skills do no damage out of 40 vs what we have in gw2. It also didn't save people from dying to CC chaining. -
I see zero reason to use this spec at all honestly and its really disappointing. Blight is a double nerf because it reduces your max HP which also reduces your max shroud at the same time while shroud is draining to heal you when you are missing health and the effect lasts way to kitten long for a damage boost other classes get in passive traits without committing suddoku . The elixir utilities are a joke...large amounts of blight for a trivial effect excluding the elite. Necro gets yet again another 900 range main hand yaaay /s bonus points for attacks now being projectile so gl with that in pvp modes. The 4 and 5 in shroud have cc on them so they will do 0.0000001 damage in wvw and spvp. The 2 skill is a scatter shot and we saw how well that went down on renegade yet anet made another skill just like it though I don't see the thing getting reworked like seven shot did. Why make a uber glass necro it doesn't have the base line utilities for survival like other classes have and the elite spec does nothing special to help mitigate incoming damage. I see this thing living in trailblazer gear with torment runes just to not get insta gibbed. Almost forgot the lack of fear for interaction with those traits.... I feel like the utilities on scourge and harbinger are swapped around the wrong way. overall rating-meh

Do WvW have any back story? Why are we fighting?
Lightning Xv.8705 replied to Hadi.6025's topic in World vs. World
So we are putting braham on red bl, then watch as all three servers take turns kicking his face in because no one wants to defend him....😆 -
Removing the invuln from downing is probably the most middle ground option between downstate vs none. I personally prefer no downstate as it gives the best CHANCE for the undermanned side to counter the pve ktrain. With no DS you can pick a group apart a couple at a time hopefully to the point they bail out of your keep. With DS anything you down gets IOL and signet from range or hand ressed if they are close to the group. You accomplish nothing and you're better off not attempting to defend when heavily outnumbered. The only mistake was putting warclaw in the game mode to begin with. It didn't "allow" small groups to help defend from a large zerg it enabled people to sit idle off the side of a battle contributing nothing until someone goes down then darting into the battle to stomp people and run away to remount and go again. So the side the with most cheerleaders gets free no downstate(which tends to be the side with more players to begin with). Sniff is a portable watchtower deleting the element of surprise completely. You used to be able to stack behind a wall, wait for it to go down then rush the blob catching them off guard and evening out the numbers before they knew what hit them. Now everyone knows where everyone else is at all times. You rarely get the drop on large groups anymore without a portal bomb. The maul skill still does to much damage as a free skill. It's effected by might and other damage modifiers making it hit 8k+ for free on engage and for low hp classes a 8k hit is a must dodge attack before you even have to deal with that classes actual abilities. If warclaw HAD to be added to wvw it should have been like lotro and swtor mounts. They are nothing other than a movement buff. That is it. No dodges, no damage, and no cheesy mechanics. You go from point a to point b a little faster the end.

New changes to retal hurting Support FB in WvW
Lightning Xv.8705 replied to Sonja.3497's topic in World vs. World
so........this system wasn't implemented in wvw? Might be all you need.(with possible percentage tweaks) https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-January-26-2016 retaliation being gone is a breath of fresh air......getting support their 300 silk and mithril from tagging credit shouldn't be that big of an issue. If a support player NEEDS money for w/e reason I'm sure their guild has plenty of people that don't give a rats kitten about those bags and will give them some. Though you could do 1-2 hrs of pve metas and make more gold than you probably could playing wvw for a week. Not getting wvw xp especially for newer players is more of an actual problem. -
I agree with your sentiment about this build possibly hurting other aspects of necro if anet saw it as an issue and tried to fix it with their typical dartboard approach. High life force generation is the main culprit for that trait being so successful but they are also possibly rather important LF sources for other builds that don't necessarily stack them like core signet does. Doing something to unholy sanctuary would be the least impactful on the rest of necro. It's kind of a shame really. Ele was the one spec that for maximum {staff} damage output it was literally kill or be killed. Not many that played it could extract all it had to give. Being such a soft target to me seemed a fair trade for the raw damage it could do but so many questionable nerfs later and I hardly see weavers in zergs at all let alone one of the good ones. I think(?) it still has good damage but for far less effort and risk other classes will get close enough or beat it and do other things on top of raw dps.

If only we had classes that removed boons and cleansed condi in zergs...oh wait They have one thing they can do in a zerg and few people run it. Leave the butterfly people alone. Don't stand in the breach? countered done next Again this isn't a rapid fire issue if its even an issue at all(its not people need to l2p instead of crying on the forums). Its soulbeast and its stacked damage modifiers. Rapid fire on core with a gear split 50/50 zerk mara crits 900's. Sic em troll beast is a one trick pony that 110% invests into blowing its opponent up on the first try because if it fails it has no utilities left to save it leaving an easy kill which is why they live in towers and keeps.

Then the way of "Perma-tapping" would cease to exist. Think outside the box. A ballista only requires 25 supply and will deal damage to gates with every skill and I believe walls if you use the 2 skill. Not to mention all the cheeky places to build a piece of random trash siege were people wont likely find it. Perma tapping would still be a thing but it would require actual effort as apposed to playing some meme build and touching guards then darting away.

They would be used for skills without cast times. Or skills that you can at least cast simultaneously. I've seen videos of scourges who were clearly macroing because they would place F1 shade, then F2 F3 F4 F5 would literally go off at exactly the same time, every time. That's easily done with keybinds or a gaming mouse like the logitech g600 or corsair scimitar. 6 buttons under your thumb or sequenced in order on your keyboard(f1-5 tada) that you can slide your finger across. Zero effort what so ever. I haven't seen anyone running macros in years. It was typically on core one shot mesmer and it was even posted on meta battle in the comments on how to set it up with the timings. Thankfully someone purged it. I see people screech in map chat all the time about hackers n kitten to which I proceed to hunt said target down. Funny how every one of them dies like the rest having done nothing out of the ordinary. Majority of the claims of people macroing/hacking are just people not understanding the class they are playing against. I do on occasion see what appears to be a bot of some sort that will just run to an objective over and over and over. I don't mean sliding fingers and pressing them all within .5 seconds. I mean in the video, all skills are blacked out on exactly the same frame. It's very obviously a macro, which is sad because Scourge is pretty easy to play. I just logged into the game and took my scourge to an open spot. I placed my shade while pressing 2-5 at the same time and everything went off at the same exact time. First try. Instant cast skills are instant which is why the original macro meme was mesmer one shot not ranger or necro. Anyone claiming they encounter macro/hackers all the time is either bad at the game or ignorant of other classes capabilities when played at a higher skill cap. And no smashing every shade skill at once is not the proper way or even a smart way to use them.

Unless the enemy stands in the watchtower for your tower, hits a sentry right next to a keep, or a scout from your team spots them ....that's exactly how it is right now. You don't know if its a tap or someones sieging it until someone puts eyes on it. The difference is some random perma stealth thief or w/e cant just tap a guard/ toss a blueprint at a guard and continually contest your keep for hours on end. The tactivator troll cant just log in whenever to yank the lever and dip. They would actually have to build some sort of siege or stand at the gate long enough to deal enough melee damage for the contest to trigger. Meaning to troll the tacts they would need to either be afk on the map waiting for someone to siege it or have on alt on both servers to do it them self. More of an investment to be an annoyance. Some will go the distance but others wont. There is no perfect solution to tactivator trolling. Anet isn't going to build some complex new system just to try and prevent it. You could delete tactics from the game and then they can't be trolled but that would not make a lot of people happy.
-
Make it so you can't use invuln/ ewp unless the keep/tower is contested.Make it to contest a keep/tower you need to deal damage to the structure (wall or gate) 1-2%(example). Not just agroing guards. That would fix most trolling of your important tactics.
