  1. New issue... I put all the items into the forge and it worked. Got the achievement for the collection and everything. Yet there's no item in my inventory so I can't complete the quest.
  2. I spent nearly an hour doing events in the Bastion of the Celestial and not a one counted toward the story achievement, including the Dagda event chain. Is this bugged or is there a single, specific event that has to be done for the credit?
  3. Everything moves too fast to do Behemoth 3. A map shouldn't have to organize to literally throw the meta to do an achievement.
  4. It's now impossible. There's not enough events before people make it to and complete the third section. It was bugged and not giving credit, now you have to ask a map to sabotage itself to do an achievement? Didn't Anet learn this was bad...?
  5. I was finally able to do it, but it took 5 times for ranger and 3 for guardian. Mine were definitely the first each day as well since I only do them once like I'd mentioned. It really feels bugged and I hope they are able to fix it. I'm glad I'm not alone, and I hope they find success soon. That's a long meta to have mess up. 😞
  6. What if it has been the first time doing it that day? I'm getting the daily reward chest that now drops but not the second chest which contains the items. All other classes have been getting 2 bouncy chests each time. I had not even done Kaineng in 3 weeks before trying it on my guardian without any success, and the very first time I did Kaineng was also on my guardian at release and I got no credit despite having the collection unlocked.
  7. Yes, it's the very first time that I've done the meta. I only try the meta once per day as it's all the patience I have to spend an hour on something for no credit (or six hours in total at this point across the two characters). I've tried being a Willbender and a firebrand, I've tried being there for the full meta and getting gold credit every step of the way... I only ever get the single bouncy chest for doing it the first time that day and not the second chest as my other classes have been receiving.
  8. I have now completed Kaineng twice on my Willbender and Seitung four times on my ranger. I have yet to receive the collection achievement credit. Is this going to be fixed? It's been bugged since launch and not being able to complete anything is very frustrating.
  9. Is this what is happening? I've tried to form up early to protect the turtles and both times the map stalled out. I still map hop to get people their cloth and other achieves, but that's frustrating to know it hinges on other active events. 😞
  10. I've tried to form a group early for two days now to get the achievement for protecting the turtles, but when the Fort Aspenwood event should kick off... nothing happens. The turtles show up, the NPCs talk, but no one moves and the shields can't be taken out. I still swap maps to help people with the other associated achievements, but it's frustrating to have it stall out twice when trying to be prepared for an achievement that requires you to be ready at the start. I feel bad commanding when the event bugs out and we have to scramble to find a new instance to get everyone into. 😞 Anyone else having this issue?
  11. Oh... how many things to address in here... The fact you think Anet does any type of advertising for this game on a meaningful level shows a clear lack of understanding of the field of marketing. As someone who is actually in the marketing field with years of experience, I know how much hard work companies have to put in to make themselves known as well as utilizing influencers to expand their reach even further. Anyone predating the internet will think otherwise, but those of us who watch global trends know that the future is digital and the power of marketing online is huge. Considering this game is played online, Anet can and should tap into these currently unused resources. If Anet is marketing this game, they're doing a poor job of it. If I didn't tell people about the upcoming sales on gems... none of my friends would know. That's not advertising as you claim it to be if five people know about a sale. You're mad that you're not being catered to. We get it. The game isn't up to your standards, and that's fine. But to then take that pent up anger and accuse other people of just using Anet to get rich on Twitch (lol?) is a bit over the top. When you assume the worst in people, you show the worst in yourself. Writing off an entire community of people because you hate Twitch or Youtube isn't going to gain you players. It's going to show them the dark side of the in-game community and that's really not the goal here. It's amazing to me that something as benign as playing with the community is this abrasive to the GW2 community when other games that tend to be far more toxic actually embrace it. Wild.
  12. Havent Mukluk done it quite awhile ? He has! I know of several partners who have streamed the game for a couple of years now, and plenty more who are not partners that also actively stream the game a lot.
  13. Another person who played since beta, was in the playtests for the new WvW maps - both, to be exact!, and owns both expansions at launch as well as having spent quite a bit on gems to help support the game. Since we seem to need credentials now, there's mine. (For the record, I'm firmly against this type of gatekeeping.) Saying that Twitch is irrelevant while touting word of mouth is a pretty terrible example. Twitch is, quite literally, word of mouth. Just today I had 2 people wander into stream asking about the game and who decided to download the free to play to test it out. Last month I had several people drop by and I know at least converted to a full game. Other streamers I know have seen the same. Is it thousands of players a month? No. But some fresh faces is still better than none, and those are just the people who talk in chat. There are a lot of people who lurk and may get into the game from watching people play. I use Twitch a lot to discover new games I might like to try. Again, no one is saying just give gem codes out on Twitch and move on. Asking Anet to better utilize a free marketing tool doesn't have to mean buying off players. A lot of spend time every stream reading off the sales or talking about the lore or discussing upcoming content to help hype it up. Having Anet back that with information we have access to and can share with our communities is free for them and can help them expand their reach.
  14. Twitch actually has more people who follow raid/fractal content than anything else if you look across the majority of the big GW2 streamers and even some of the smaller ones. PvP is next in line, with PvE bringing up the rear (WvW is a footnote but it's not even supported by Anet right now so... expected, sadly). What this current conversation seems to boil down to is people projecting their own personal - and subjective - opinion on what Twitch is to them and applying it to the greater masses despite that opinion not being true for quite a lot of people. If you want a game to grow and increase the number of eyes on it, what's wrong with utilizing a growing team of players who already are connected to one another and share their love of the game via streaming? We speak passionately about the things we like, the things we want to see, and have meaningful discussions about the state of the game and specialization speculations. When new players wander in to chat and ask for tips, our communities come in to give advice or even offer to team up in game. We help people find raid/fractal statics and pvp partners. There's quite a lot that happens on Twitch, and similar things must happen on Youtube given how several people I know who post there are also very popular and well-known in game. Just because you personally don't care to use or watch a video/stream doesn't mean it's the worst idea on the planet for Arenanet to find a way to use content creators to breathe new life into the game. No one is forcing you to watch, but there's also little reason to knock those who do enjoy content created outside the game, either.
  15. Twitch drops work well for BDO. You can see the viewership skyrocket, and there's generally a bigger influx of players into the game (or back into it). They give mostly generic but useful items daily and then a few bigger items the more you watch. A lot of games use this strategy, and they actually do gain players from it. The percentage might be low, but considering right now there's 0 marketing for the game... anything is higher than 0. My thoughts were to have a content creator program for Twitch or to revamp the affiliate program to include content creators who may not fall under the Partner Program. Arenanet should tap into Twitch and Youtube content creators. It's free marketing for them by players who love the game enough to stream it. The amount of new players I see wander into Twitch streams and then say "I got the game based on watching you" may not be high, but it happens often enough to know that streamers do help sell the game to new players. There has a be a good way for Arenanet to tap into that resource more.
  16. I did contact support who said purchases are being caught in a security check, which takes up to 12 hours to fix. 21 hours later, I still can't buy anything. I'm trying to keep a running list of what I wanted to purchase during all of this mess, but when I asked support twice about honoring the discount on the items I'm missing out on, I was met with radio silence both times. I'm not very hopeful that they will fix it in time, much less honor the prices I'm missing. If that's the case, that's a no gem purchase from me anyway. :(
  17. Same issue, but it doesn't resolve regardless of card or option chosen. Tried Paypal which also failed without even going to Paypal site for verification. :(
  18. It's been a while and I forgot about this one... but it's working for me now, too. Triggered right away.
  19. Same issue here. I tried pleading with people to slow their dps on the things blocking the tank's path, but was met with "Get it another time." Basically I need 2-3 friends to come with me to do the achievement which is ridiculous. If you get gold, it should progress. For what it's worth, I had this happen once with The Spotter achievement as well. Vishen wasn't done yet for some reason but the tank moved on, giving me a gold on the event but no progression. Fortunately you can get that one at the start, but Heavy Rival can ONLY be done on the path. Sucks.
  20. Same thing happened to me and I think it could have something to do with the bug. I always do the new story with friends, but two of them can't start until an hour after reset usually. I'm home earlier, so I port to another friend who has already done story and is on the new map. It's never caused trouble before, but there's a first time for everything... I'm the only one in my group to NOT get the achievement, so my guess is porting to the map prior to doing the story is one issue.
  21. I did it as a party of 4. I just spread out where he was on our first run and he happened to go there again. Popped over and immediately got the achievement.
  22. For what it's worth, support got back to me and said Anet is aware of the issue and is trying to work through a fix. Doesn't say when, but hopefully soon. I wound up doing some other things for the mastery points I still needed, but it'd be nice to get the easy freebie. :)
