  1. The guy that designed the original Dragon's End meta just came back from vacation.
  2. Still bugged, albeit in a different way. Seemingly at random, the ball just wont explode at detonation and disappear without exploding and thus the detonation option still persists long after the ball is gone (as if the game still thinks the ball still traveling). Sometimes, you dont get the detonation button at all. I'm currently unable to pinpoint the specific condition for each occurrences, or reliably reproduces the bug. Probably has alot to do with screwy collision check and pathing of object. Anet tries to make things "interesting" with these overly convoluted interactions. The concept has nice ring to it but that takes away your attention from combat and it's disruptive. Is it THAT difficult to make the darn thing just explode on hit at all phases? and make it a knockdown, I got complaints from random people for ruining their pull by accident. Scattering mobs everywhere isnt a productive thing in a game like GW2. Anet, PLEASE! simple change that simplifies things and makes life easier for both of us.
  3. I'm quite positive Pistol 5 is not working as intended. Charge lvl 1 and 2 will detonate on target hit, that's fine. However, the charge lvl 3's description states that detonation on skill reactivation. This suggests the skill, after the ball is fired, will have been swaped to a detonation icon so we could detonate at any point during the ball's travel path. As it is right now, there is no such detonation skill, and the ball simply travels full distance and explodes.. They totally forgot to put that to the game, period. The workaround for this is a) you simply be content with lvl 2 (release just before the charging bar fill up, OR b) move yourself to a distance of a little over 600 so that the target is caught within the 240 radius blast. Yes, this happens because Anet ignored 5 pages of pistol feedbacks from beta. Please fix or rework asap. The skill also suffers a wide range of shortcomings. The knowback is disruptive and counter productive. Knockown would have been better. Combat , especially in pvp is quite fast, no one has the time to keep track of all the craziness going on while keeping an eye on charging bar and reactivation etc... So stop it with the overly convoluted stuff. . Currently it is a significant DPS loss regardless of what level, and there is no incentive to use, even to break defiance bar as it simply misses Aight, also whiteknights, show us what you got.
  4. Alac sharing WB is a thing, and spam alac and regen as long you attack. F2- F3 still apply boons for allies on activation.
  5. You are not alone in thinking that. It's a thing associated with modern writing nowadays and it's a worrying trend. You see it in Hollywood too, with the famous line "No one's ever really gone". Modern writers nowadays appear to be very timid when it comes to creating and handling impactful events' consequences and character losses. Script writers come up with flashy builds up, putting important characters through all sorts of fatal incidents, and then these guys return to 100% health in the next sequel with the most convenient explanations. Plot contrivances is the pathway to the many abilities some consider to be unnatural. Bringing back people who are supposed to be dead saves the writers the trouble of creating and building new OG characters while persevering fanfare assets, or perhaps they are afraid of upsetting a small vocal minority of fans, but regardless it cheapens the emotion responses as well as the stake of events in previous episodes. When the audience no longer take the stakes in the story seriously knowing everyone will be fine, i wonder if the price is worth the convienience.
  6. torch 5 is good for triggering permeating wrath, doe its fault lies in long casting time and limited cone area. When you use torches, that means you probly got condi build, upping its strike damage would just result to marginal increase in damage. most of torch damage probly is allocated in torch 4. For better or worse, Torch 5 is a mixed bag of support and offense, thus it's meant to be excelled at neither. However I'd call for 1 condi removal at cast and increasing its ticking speed abit, and maybe increasing cone dimension abit for less awkward maneuvering.
  7. Moa should last only 3 second , just like other elite stun.
  8. Since Anet's inaction, I'm going to bump this topic backup. And also please remove the screaming woman who yells non-stop in Dragon End - Southern Bluff way point. I get it, Anet is all about strong and independent women, but she doesn't have to scream at us every 2 second.
  9. Anet trashed on Guardian's HP on early design using the reasoning that their passive and defensive utilities make up for it (if you don't use those very specific utilities, goodluck). However, as powercreep goes on, and as other classes started to get their own equivalent through specialization and revamped skills, this reasoning no longer hold ground while guardian base HP still remain obsolete. Low HP can be worked around with certain builds, but for frontline bruisers, you need to work extra hard in comparison to ...say ... a scrapper to stay alive.
  10. Yeh, I agree. Engies are pretty crazy in pvp at the moment, in scrapper in particular. Grenades can be thrown backward and spamming like no tomorrow, along with great sustain, quick escape options. they are both pretty much my easymode day, and also a pain to fight against.
  11. I just don't have faith in anet's balancing team anymore. Everytime birth a toxic build that either spam one skill to win, build that simply unkillable just for trolling purposes, or build that kill you within 1/4 second.
  12. It's in anet's interest to keep more active players in the pool. Banning is directly against their interest. Naughty players get wrist slaps only. There's report feature but god knows if it's just for show. I doubt they even look at individual reports.
  13. We have some serious sniper that can also smash you down in melee here in WvW. While I enjoy 8-9k Trueshoot on DH once in a while if they do crit, and by god, if it does hit, even then you gotta do quite some work to finish up the rest of the poor guy's HP bar. but these Gunflame berserk hit squads in WvW are getting out of hand. Guaranteed16k crit back to back , one hit to down you, next hit to finish you. One of these guys downed and finished my guardian within 5 seconds and I thought dragon tooth is already busted nowadays. It's a tough situation, if they gain distance on you for sniping, you are done. I have seen these gunflame spam since the past updates, but it really gets out of hand these days. Nerf it to the ground? no, but tone it down abit.
  14. While I don't expect 100% on the first go i.e. some error margins are acceptable, BUT given their experience with balancing the game, it shouldn't be this bad. And, also it's not "the first go", they have been tampering with the FB ever since release, how many years now? Suggestions have been given steadily over years, yet they went with their gun instead and always caused unnecessary issues, example being just like the infamous fiasco with warrior that triggered unfortunate and extreme responses like death threats and calls to fire devs. There are Anet apologists who constantly spout "it's never easy to balance a game" as some sort of end-all-be-all excuse every single time a bad patch happened, but you know , "it's never easy" is not an excuse you can use forever, especially given their extensive experience with balancing the game over the decade. If you want more obvious example, look at Willbender elite "balance". The main problem of the skill is how clunky the skill is executed in real combat while exposing the WB for the 1.25 second he's in the air for a marginal reward for the effort/risk. Yet their solution is ,you guessed it, adjusting CD and up power, and for PVE only. The skill is nothing more than a gimmicky defiant bar drainer. As for FB, I knew it'd be bad the moment I read all virtues share pages from the preview, left alone the traits "fixes"
  15. They ain't gona give you an evasion frame, knowing Anet. The most realistic bet is they, in their mercy, will throw in 2 second of one stack of Stability before shadowstep occurs. If all 8 planets align , they might just also throw in 2 second of Aegis.
  16. Did you read the reasons and rationales provided by people who dislike the patch? What did they say? Maybe that will answer your question. Without even reading from those folks, and just from the patch note, i dont know, things like dropping critical chance in fricking condi lines.
  17. While sigil of fire gives a quick boost for permeating wrath's hits count when it triggers, and 5s ICD isn't terribly bad either, but it's constrained by number of foes around you to maximize benefit. Even then, the 2 sigil slots are heavily contested by very competitive effects of 20% burning duration and +5% condi damage. I suppose sigil of fire works ok as a budget option, but I don't think it can compete well if you happen to have options.
  18. Oh there's actually a gw2 npc that we love so much, with their writing? I suppose if there has to be such a person, I'd vote Faren. He does has abit of honest charm about it. In other news, most hated in my book: number 1 - uncontested champion of this category: Aurene 🥇 She's straight up Anakin, she's Neo, she's Rey, she's Sue, she's your average Fairy godmother, and she sounds like your highschool principal runner ups: Kasmeer and Marjory - virtue signaling props no less and I think writers tried so hard to make these two more important than they really are. Remember those key missions that they just showed up randomly and went "heyy we are...uh ...here and we are important" honorable mention: none other than the "Commander" - Mr. Jesus the Boring that never says or do anything wrong, someone you'd never ask to go to party with. what's your list.
  19. Even a blunt weapon can be deadly weapon in the hand of very skilled fighter. Any class/specialization can be top in ladder if the person choose to use it if he has the skill for it and bothers to do so. One single anecdotal piece of data does not prove anything. Maybe it is right that Willbender is that good like you said it, but this is not the sufficient evidence for it. I would like to see Willbender statistical data in terms of ranking over the entire base players to make an evaluation. meanswhile I can name a list of things that Willbender are not so good at, and a list of classes that can dish out damage for much less effort put out in comparison to the Willbender specialization. While some recent changes improved the gameplay abit, but this specialization still has much room to improve upon.
  20. Legendary weapons have unique projectile as a perk, I get it. Sometimes, those ain't always welcomed. Anet has this weird trope for certain legendaries to shoot out a copies of itself as a projectile. To be honest, that doesn't make any sense, even in context of fantasy world. A sword shooting out a sword, a dagger shooting out daggers, etc.... it's just random and/or lazy design. and if you haven't seen the new aurene hammer effect on spinning orbs on elem, it's just hurting the eyes after awhile. Not only that, certain projectiles look better in its natural form, like many of elems, sword 3 of guardian etc. So please add a toggle for projectile effect, just like for leg trinkets effect toggle, so that people who enjoyed either of the versions can choose their preferred setting.
  21. I don't think Anet realize how vast of the player base that is either indifferent towards or totally dislike Aurene. I personally at the scale of 11 out of 10 in terms of the I-hate-Aurene scale, from the design to the voice line, just never appealed to me. To make an entire line of legendary out of her theme is disheartening. Every single one is messy glob of rainbow nonsense. It's lazy design, lets be honest now. I hope the other dragon skin update will come soon so I can get rid of this distasteful rainbow skin on this staff that I....unfortunately made out of curiosity. I would say gen 1 and 2 are better in terms of aesthetic for the most part (if you really care about that it), minus some of the joke weapons.
  22. Willbender is more enjoyable in open world to collect loots and nodes. Other than that, you best stick with DH = better range/melee bust and some decent mobility.
