  1. Right now we are all enjoying the dragon bash festivities, and as someone who likes to contribute to the in game community in unique ways, an idea occurred to me. A guild wars radio. Players can tune in, listen to music, make requests, get filled in on current events, etc. What I need to know is this: Am I going to get in trouble for directing users in game to visit a website unaffiliated with ANet, no matter how non-malicious? Keeping in mind that there is no sign up, no fee, and its a very simple page hosted by caster, a streaming company at least some people should be familiar with.
  2. PvE wise, hammer does the lowest damage of all weapons just ahead of LB. and the protection uptime has no purpose. I would argue it is PvP where is still could be used. PvE wise, it is nothing more than aesthetic. While I can understand some people not putting value on protection, why do you feel it has "no" purpose? Most of my hammer damage comes from stacking symbols. Using near-constant quickness allows me to keep 3 symbols running almost constantly on the ground, sometimes 4 (but not consistently 4). Those symbols add a tremendous amount of damage to using the hammer. I mean I suppose I'm just missing something when it comes to DPS. It's not something I monitor all the time. Just doesn't seem like the damage is as low as people say.
  3. I remember Operation Union. I was part of it, on my old account. I remember when legion was formed, and even you Hele lol. Whew that was many years ago. Now I'll have to go on my old account and see if any of you are still on my friends list haha. Probably not its been so long. Good to see you guys are still at it. :) EDIT: Just took a look, found this mail lol. http://prntscr.com/r8bh9v
  4. It's definitely not shelter. I did test to see the new light aura, and it does fit the description you're talking about. I ran through the other skills that guardian has which provide aegis or invulnerability, none cause a yellow aura. Mantras can be used repeatedly to apply aegis numerous times and prevent damage, but have no aura.
  5. There is a trait setup that allows spear of justice to be cast again anytime a DH kills a foe, and again with the right traits, light aura can be applied anytime this virtue is used. It also applies blind to nearby enemies, so unless it was champions or higher, it would have caused attacks to miss. That's assuming what you saw was light aura, hard to say as I haven't seen it after the patch.
  6. PvP? I agree completely. PvE? Wholeheartedly disagree. I run a mantra firebrand with a hammer for PvE and the sustained damage with the right traits, survivability, and ability to decimate a cc bar are all top notch. But again, PvE only.
  7. My wife is having the same issues. I run GW2 on a windows pc, and am experiencing no issues. She runs Mac OS, and ever since updating for wintersday, is getting this error crash as well. The time period she can stay logged in varies a little, sometimes she doesn't even make it past character select.
  8. Never liked WoW. More importantly never liked how the community of WoW felt. Can't speak for anyone else, but that's more than enough for me not to go anywhere near it.
  9. Listen. People. I have given you enough time since the posting of this thread. Where is my youtube video of 30 people wielding https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Ugly_Stick and using skill 1 on each other until they all die? This is becoming unacceptable.
  10. I have no idea what that means... What is a content guide? How does turning off hearts help with map completion? Content guide is in your options menu, first tab. It's toward the top of that menu. You can set it to do different things, such as point to your next map objective, instead of displaying world events and story journal, etc.
  11. I've come across a lot of confusion in the game due to the roleplay-ish nature of this post. As well as people who are unfamiliar with myself and [TTR] The Traveling Repository. The general idea of this venture, is to have some fun, add a small amount of roleplay to your everyday maps, and to give players a huge price break on both everyday items, as well as the not so everyday item, here and there. While it is not exactly a "giveaway" as the merchants will ask for money in return for the items, it is always a VERY low amount in comparison to the actual value of the items. We do generally make up the prices randomly to a certain degree, but it's a general rule that what we charge is never more than 1/10th of the actual value of the item(s). Some players do send the money first, but we are always willing to send the items before receiving payment, to avoid any sort of scandal. Considering that we are just trying to give people some items for very little, it's not a huge hassle to us if someone runs off with something we offer. However we do record the account name of people who do this, and we do not do business with them again. If you see someone announce the traveling repository on your map, they will not respond to questions in map chat. They MIGHT respond to whisper, if someone wants an explanation, but it's up to them. It's up to the players on the map to locate the merchant wandering around on the roads (they will always be on a map-marked road, not off in random corners). The merchant will then respond to you. Some will announce their prices, others will ask what you offer for it, and they might even make a counter offer. But remember, its all in good fun, and while they may "haggle" you will always get the item at an exceedingly low price. Please keep in mind that anyone who is associated with this post WILL have The Traveling Repository [TTR] displayed as their active guild while they are selling, and will NEVER ask you to send the money first. Let me emphasize that. NEVER. Good luck and have fun!
  12. The low health pool hurts, but in pve I don't have too many issues with it.I think to be perfectly honest, one of the guardians biggest flaws is its almost complete lack of stun/daze. Aside from the daze on FB axe, which you dont even get unless you trait for it, the guardian (in all its diversity) has not a single skill that legitimately stuns an opponent. While we do have other crowd control skills (pull, knockback, launch, etc) I personally feel that the lack of any real stun really counts as a weakness. P.S. This is coming from a guardian main. I have no complaints really about the class, I honestly don't like playing as anything else.
  13. Have you come across an odd traveling merchant, standing around with his ghost quaggan sidekick, shouting for people to "come on over"? Have you been astounded by his deeply deeply deeply discounted wares? If so, you may have come across Kaii's Traveling Repository! What is this crazy nonsense you ask? Well...every now and then, you may come across this individual advertising his odd assortment of items. Now I don't know how he does it, but utilizing what must be some insane bartering skills, this merchant is able to offer items at massive price reductions. Why just the other day I bought a mystic coin from him for only 11 silver! Sounds like a scam you say?! Well no! This very trusting merchant will happily mail you the item BEFORE receiving payment for it! WHAT FAITH HE HAS IN PEOPLE! (but beware! if you do not honor his faith and pay the price he asks after accepting the deal, he will never do business with you again!) I hope you come across him sometime soon!
