  1. True - didn't realise before this thread that you could use the Arborstone scroll direct from the shared slot without transferring it to a specific character - now it's permanently there. I also ran a few characters (3 to be precise) through the EOD campaign before I even cottoned on to the Lions Arch route. As good as the campaign is, it was starting to feel like a bit of a chore 3rd time round!
  2. Once you have the Arborstone portal scroll for one character, is there a way to get one for alt characters on the same account without having to repeat the EOD campaign? Nothing against the EOD campaign, but having played it 3 times (for 3 different characters) I'd rather not have to run through the storyline again. I know you can get alt characters to Arborstone via Lion's Arch, but the scroll is so handy that I feel I need it on any character that is going to spend a lot of time in Cantha.
  3. Worse if you're an Asura, when it seems to block out half the screen unless you zoom right out. I assume that no one else can see it from the lack of messages saying 'Hey, move your ******* turtle!'
  4. Even if that were an option I don't think I could do it - that thing is designed to make you feel sorry for it.
  5. Did as suggested by Erich.1783 and didn't take long to form a group, with a really helpful experienced player taking the lead and giving out instructions at the start. Completed despite missing a whole load of helpful text prompts and getting downed way too much. Slightly embarrassed but really appreciative of the helpful people in this game.
  6. OK will try what you suggested - thanks. The turtle following was amusing/cute at first - until it got annoying (mainly due to its size and the guilt-inducing hearts).
  7. I meant without doing the Strike mission. Couldn't find any groups for this (or any other strikes) under Training in LFG, and I assume that experienced groups will not want someone who has no experience of strikes. To be clear, I'm not asking how to complete the turtle mount without doing the strike (because I know you can't). Just asking how to stop this giant turtle following me around Arborstone.
  8. Got to the 'Suiting Up' phase of the turtle mount process, then abandoned the idea after hitting the Strike Mission requirement (don't do Strikes and don't have a Strike ready group for this). That's fine, however I now have this giant lovesick turtle following me around all the time in Arborstone. How do I get rid of it?
  9. As a casual player trying wvw for the first time, this was my initial impression. However I still managed to get the warclaw track done in less than a week of casual play (evenings only). Being forced into small engagements (and getting owned most of the time) also helped highlight how useless my casual (core) build was for wvw - might not have been the case if I'd just been able to ride straight from zerg to zerg from the start. (Now I've got the warclaw, I'm going to try to actually get some viable elite specs together before going back!). Admittedly I was fortunate enough to run into some very helpful wvw vets, but I'd already completed a lot of the track by that point anyway. Unlocking gliding early helped too (irc you can do that almost immediately).
