  1. The genre died because of people like me? Lmao you have no idea what you are talking about, the mmo genre was never more alive than it is right now, the ONLY exception being World of Warcraft was a mainstream phenomenon, but besides that, you basically have more active mmo choices now than you did 10 years ago. Now you are talking about rewards like that has anything to do with the discussion of the game needing more solo oriented content in general, which it does. Basically the whole game is designed around groups and having 1 content feature designed around solo players would not suddenly kill the game, in fact it would do far more good for it. Mmos are not JUST "multiplayer games" they are shared world experiences, and in the real world you do not always have to interact with people, so why is that some weird mandatory requirement of a virtual one?
  2. Absolutely ridiculous to see people still using the same tired old retort of "well what do you expect, ItS aN mMoRpG" Completely out of touch, that does nott mean that literally everything has to be massive multiplayer content, it means that the game is a shared world with massive amounts of players, there should ABSOLUTELY be a feature designed for solo players imo, be it some kind of roguelite or single player boss rush, idk How about this? Take the major story bosses, Mordremoth, Balthazar, Joko, etc etc. and put them in an mists instance you start and it goes floor after floor, the boss you fight is random but will have mutators and random mechanics thrown in the higher you go. Can have 10 levels to start, and over time 15, 20, 25, 30, whatever. Boom, potentially fun solo content, but people are instead gonna say "WTF, I THOUGHT THIS WAS AN MMO????" I rarely see solo players whine about multiplayer content that doesnt affect them, always see multiplayer players whine about content that doesn't affect them.
  3. We still also have to see what the Jade tech is! Seems like it may be a whole new feature inside a mastery 😮
  4. I want to point out that you are partially wrong On launch, the story mode solo version of these bosses will be playable and the 10 man normal version of the Strike missions, that is endgame content day 1 The Cms will be coming later though correct.
  5. It's extremely easy to find parties in this game, like just join the tons of meta trains and Wbs and there will be tons of turtles to gun on or you can ride someone around
  6. I think EoD is the best looking expansion, though in fairness it is the first one to release where I am actually invested into the game, whereas with HoT and PoF I was very much a "eh maybe I will check it out" kind of person. Yeah, fishing and skiffs is not as big as gliding and masteries, or mounts. That really doesn't matter, WoW expansions don't sell on big new features (if anything players dread them) FF expansions don't sell on big new features, ESO expansions don't sell on big new features. It's about what you are providing with the core gameplay loop, with that perspective, EoD has: -A full set of legendary weapons DAY 1, with variants of each one coming over time -A new mount type that encourages social play, and mounts are already one of gw2s most beloved features -Actual "raid" content day 1, the first expansion to release with instanced endgame on launch -4 new full zones with meta events and WBs, and one new sanctuary zone which is upgradable with a (boring) mastery Compare this to POF, which besides mounts, was basically just new zones with few long term activities, and actually afaik died very quickly due to lack of rewards or long term goals besides the mount mastery tracks. From what I can tell, Heart of Thorns was the biggest expansion, and will probably remain the case as it released when Gw2 was at its most profitable, but the fact that EOD is still so massive compared to ANY mmo expansions besides the two kings, is impressive as hell. Also charges 20 dollars less than the 2 kings.
  7. Personally, I don't see how Gliding and mounts translate as much to long term gameplay. Like the person you quoted said that there is nothing to keep people playing, I would say a full set of legendaries day 1 AND actual endgame content (Strikes w/CMs) is more long term gameplay than some highlight feature like mounts. And while this could be hopium, we still don't know what this "dragon jade mastery" track is, which is apparently big enough for Anet to feature on the main EoD website.
  8. They generally insta move from point once it is capped (or right before it's capped...lmao) they will immediately leave if someone stealths and they have nothing to hit, etc etc.
  9. Does Anet do anything to stop botting, me and my friend decided to try getting into ranked and after hitting silver almost every match I do is almost all bots both teams. It's insane.
