Invoker.5462's Achievements

  1. UI needs an overhaul (being worked) WvW population balancing needs an overhaul Hearts for Tyria and Crystal Desert need completion requirements need to be halved. All crafting professions need to be accessible from 1 NPC I believe in you ANET
  2. I started with EOD, then HOF. My expectation for HOT was lower since it was the oldest expansion. I couldn't have been more wrong. The other 2 expansions pale in comparison. And for the first time since my teen WoW days I was overwhelmingly fascinated, lost, and felt a true sense of wanderlust. Such an artistic achievement, the world itself deserves a place in an art gallery. And the creatures fit in so well I actually believe they live there. I can't fathom how anyone had given this less than a 9/10 (IGN gave it kitten 7.8??) I doubt I'll see anything this stunning again in my lifetime in terms of art in a game
  3. Desperate for action, we've decided it best to recruit people off the street for our next game. Yeah, they don't know each other or anything but they're game so why not? On the other side of the fence, we've got two well practiced hunks from the football team. YEAH.. Doesnt happen lol. Except in guild wars. A game so ahead of it's time yet it's a good idea to take an established team and pit them up against random people in PVP. I wonder who thought that was a good idea lol.
  4. Aside from my advice to kick the person who sold you on rifle warrior with the basis of "it picks off the stragglers!" And the natural bit of laughter from this being the counterargument, I think it goes without saying we can find another profession whom is capable of "picking off stragglers" without making itself useless for every other purpose
  5. Actually, i was there for the first couple of years and that didn't happen at all for necro. Ranger yes, but there was never a situation where a necro wasn't a good addition to a party within any game mode, unless there were already too many of them in the party
  6. A warrior who plays a warrior to be more multi-dimensional will find only squares and flat surfaces. There are many ways to play a warrior, but only one right way
  7. Most players aren't going to realistically have the time or the mental bandwidth to make the most of every class in the game and their specializations. This is especially true for completionists
  8. All classes seem to have had their hour of fame. But ele and necro have always had a place in all aspects of the game. At no point would wonder if a necro or an ele will be a useless addition to a group. Unfortunately, not everyone has picked these two classes. In fact, a human elementalist would have been the most likely to stick around the longest. As the human has the best camera angle, and elementalism has never suffered an identity crisis in any part of the game. They would have saved a lot of production money had they removed professions and races and had the human elementalist the only playable thing in the game. It seems as though this profession is used as a benchmark for every other profession, and has recieved the largest number of minor tweaks throughout the years. The necro, in a similar vein, has always been a safe bet. You'd be safe in your assumption that a group of necros and ele's could get through 100% of the content in gw2 without much of a struggle. Unfortunately i mained warrior and engineer, and have been constantly cut down from being a fan boy to completely and totally pessimistic about class balance for this game.
  9. Let me save you a few years of time that you might have spent with Warrior in the hopes you could do this unique barbarian rifle thing. WVW Your first thought might be "but what if i'm up on a wall, or in a zerg? Surely theres somewhere a rifle can be used right? Actually no, unless your standing on the very EDGE of the wall, all shots will be obstructed, and at that point, you'll just be yanked down. "But what if i don't get yanked down? Then i can unleash hell on the attackers right?" Actually no, even if you are able to maintain a target in a blob of players, most of your shots will be reflected, or worse, the server won't even register them. Yeah.. To put this as simply as possible. Projectiles don't work in WVW period. Its a mix of boon spamming and AOE spamming. >If it doesn't come up from the ground or down from the sky, its a useless dps skill< Instanced PVP In instanced PVP, the rifle is not only lacks all the fundamentals of a skillset, but it's also clunky. And since people don't tend to stand idly still, most of your money shots will miss anyway. And since those are only money shots "if" you build for them to be a "money shot" then missing it means you lose. No back and forth, no second chances. You miss, you lose, game over. But even if it does land, you'll still lose most of the time, since there are, you know, other people whom you didn't even touch with your single target skill. PVE You might be thinking of something PVE wise since this an "at your own pace" area of the game. Yeah, i'm so sorry to break it to you. There will be cases where your "money shot" will go directly through an enemy if it happens to be too close. Like, your rifle is at point blank range, and you'll miss since the shot will start its trajectory beyond the range of the enemy who decided to be all up on you.
  10. I'm hardly ever on during peak hours, so i'm usually in a group of 5-10 people
  11. I tried a couple of these and the end result is that i own other warriors, rangers and theives. But i have 0 chance against ele/mesmer/necro/guardian unless they've already exhausted all their stuff on someone else.
  12. I tried out a few of the popular builds. Everything seems underwhelming this far. I'm either dealing a lot of damage and dying instantly, or dealing too little damage and dying after everyone else. Typically the field of battle is moving around too much for banner boons to be of use to anybody, and i feel a little silly trying them out to begin with. Any suggestions? Or am i better off joining the ele bandwagon?
  13. Not you sure what you wanna polemize about, you answered your own title =D Do you have anything to add?
  14. It seems like the theme for pvp is "tanky circle man". Everyone wants someone who is relatively hard to kill, who can bombard an area with tons of AOE, if you're not doing that, you're spinning as either a thief or a warrior as a wrecking ball. I only own the base game, so i don't know much about the newer stuff. What i do know is that I literally bought this game and have played it for the GS+Rifle warrior because i think it is the most unique and fun thing to play out of any mmo i've ever played. And ive played a lot of MMO's. So lets talk about what makes it bad, so that we can address it's weaknesses. To be impactful here you need to load yourself up with a ton of power and precision. To do this, you naturally sacrifice inate tankyness. You become a glass cannon. There's a massive weakness in the mid range. Too close to use the rifle, too far to use the great sword. Bassically any class that can get close while zoning, rangers obliterate us, i have been downed by their pets aloneI have an internal debate over the rifles lack of AOE. On the one hand, all shots peirce the target, so a kill shot could go through 5 players and kill all of them. On the other hand, thats never going to happen
