  1. Seems like most of the popular builds out there concentrate on needing somebody else to be with you. Looking for a tanky tempest build that will allow me to solo HPs and other map events as well as blaze through LW story so I can get caught up to the most recent chapter.
  2. I will have to make sure I have that one picked. I do PVP for the dailies every day. :)
  3. Yes, I would still like to know how much 17 Kasmeers is....
  4. I need to get back to grinding that dungeon for the gear set, I do really like it. Just so many more interesting things to do in game right now.
  5. I wasn't sure which section to put this under.... I am looking for inspiration on creating an Asura thief that looks like they belong in the Inquest.
  6. I am also stuck. Do I need to be in game and in the queue to get help?
  7. I am with you on the engi fantasy. I loved the idea of dual pistol running, turret placing, steam punk little Asura. Sadly the biggest part of the fantasy of engi for me, turrets, are pretty terrible. I have been running ele instead and I love how flashy the skills are. Working my way up to HoT right now, hoping I don't die all the time, LOL!
  8. I DO wish there was a way to see what outfits people are wearing. I often see some pretty BA outfits while wandering around Lion's Arch. I feel creepy always whispering people. Sometimes they respond and tell me what outfit they are wearing, but often I am ignored. Same goes for mount skins.
  9. Thanks, that is super helpful. I didn't phrase it very well, but what I meant is that I was focusing on unlocking my air and earth traitlines first. I was doing a quasi-fresh air d/d build of my own devising. I usually open with fire, then swap to air for the speed boost, then swap to earth to finish the fight. I will often summon my greater fire elemental because if I do go down I find that they tend to burn down the targeted mob fairly quickly so I can get back up. It's saved my butt a few times. However, I will try earth elemental instead. I tried staff, but really didn't care for feeling so stuck in one place. I enjoy that on dagger I have three skills that can help me move around if I need to get out of an enemy's AOE as I don't always get my dodge triggered quite right (currently set to double tap space bar, haven't figured out a better keybinding for it).
  10. depends, if for weaver then i would say yes its rather fast paced and uses alot of movement (and evades) to keep on damaging tempest however is rather forgiving d/d or d/w for open world True, and there is a ton of things one could and can do to perform perfectly well on elementalist for story and open world content. Yet, rolling a power reaper (or any of the classes mentioned), slotting just about any traits and utilities and face tanking things will do the same. Elementalist is just not that beginner friendly. I actually started out on a reaper, and while I enjoyed facerolling everything, overall I have found myself bored with the class and have lost interest. Rolled a DH and am now running raid training with my guild on it. I am wanting a toon that is my "do all the story on" toon. I boosted an engi that I am messing around with in the level 80 personal story right now, and then also this ele that I am leveling the old fashion way.

OP could give holo a try, has pretty much anythingit takes "special skill" to be bad as this build https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Holosmith_-_Static_Sword/Shield lol ranged pressure on mortar melee pressure on forged/sword'n shield condi cleanes on leaving forge/healing turret hard to fail on holo in non-group content or good ol'scrapper tanky yet hits hard on hammerI actually have an engi that I just used my PoF boost on. Tinkering around with it right now and working on unlocking scrapper. I really love running a turret-based build, even though I have been told a few times that it is terribad. I ended up rolling an ele too because I love how flashy the ele skills are, especially the lightening whip.
  12. I saw a ton of them when the warclaw first launched. I assumed they were there to make sure it was working properly. Didn't think that maybe they were there just to have fun! I always feel bad for them because they tend to get trolled pretty hard in map chat.
  13. I actually am asking about Living World. I guess I didn't phrase my question well enough. I am wondering if ele is going to be a huge struggle to play living world with and if I should instead perhaps put my time into a different class. However, thanks for the tips!
  14. isn't living world lvl 80 content?and you said you were lvl 55 probably in bad gear and traits aswell (earth in pve??) wait at lvl 80 when you have weaver elite spec and play sword/dagger a mixture of berserker and maybe some marauder if you feel "safer" with higher healthpool.weaver is a charm Yes, currently only level 55, but I am wondering if the class overall does okay in Living World, or if I am going to really struggle and should maybe pick a different class since Living World is really all I do.
  15. Rolled an Ele earlier this week, and so far I really like how flashy the class is. However, I am finding myself in down state a lot or having to tag along with somebody else while doing HP. Currently only level 55 and focusing on air and earth abilities. I am concerned about what my experience doing the HoT maps is going to be and if I should stick with the class when basically all I do in game is the Living World story chapters. I know that some of the boss fights can be really tricky. Is elementalist viable for doing living world? Or will I be finding myself struggling a lot? I do plan to unlock weaver and tempest as I move through the maps and get the HPs.
